  1. And it's really good for your fitness.....great abs
  2. I can't do an office job or sit at a computer all day. Would do my head in. Am more a hands on person, like to be outside when I can. Have already built my career as such, have a couple of degrees, lots of publications and am well established in my field of Science. But I have a once in the lifetime opportunity to take a break and try something a little different. I'm leaving with a good redundancy package and can afford to take some time off for me. Ultimately I will probably end up going back to a science job, unless I become an awesome racing driver that is lol Appreciate £500 doesn't buy a lot of re-training, but it does have to be 'training'. I can't spend it on track days, and I have to justify my reasons. I was contemplating being a track day racing instructor. These days women are getting more into track days and I thought a good female instructor might be a good move.
  3. Not sure I could drink that much tea Appreciate they earn good money, but not sure I'd enjoy anything along the gas fitter, plumber, electrician line.
  4. Ok, Friday night question..... If you were leaving your current job and had £500 to spend on re-training for whatever you wanted to do....what would you choose? For example, I'm a Research Scientist. Have spent a long time studying to get where I am today. Quitting my job end of this month. Having a career break! Thinking about spending my £500 on the ARDS racing licence course/test. Advice from those who've done the test, much appreciated. Also, a little undecided if it's right thing to do. Perhaps, I'm just being selfish?
  5. Anyone know where I can get a rear view mirror for a 2004 350z DE? Doesn't have to be new, just in really good condition. The mirror bit on mine is all bubbly & tarnished at the bottom, and after 2 yrs of ownership I think it's about time I sorted it out!
  6. So, all the CCTV's in the UK and they weren't able to pull a clear photo of the driver?????
  7. Having doubts about the Mk2 RS now also. Saw a really nice white one at the weekend.....owned by an elderly couple in their late 60's. That's totally blown my boy racer image lol Price......blimin' expensive and a big jump in price from our 2003 Scooby. Worried it won't be as fast as our Scooby. Interior will be a damn site better though. Anyone had a Focus ST Mountune?
  8. I looked at the Qashqai a couple of years ago. It was far too small for my needs and found it pretty gutless to be honest.
  9. Currently looking at these for a replacement for Scooby, was hoping to see the price come down also!
  10. She was lovely....wasn't she starting some sort of new business venture or something?
  11. You need to keep the short runs going, even if it is really short like 30 mins....this will stop the stiffening between the long runs. Just worried you're doing pushing the long runs too early, but I guess you know your own limits. Sounds like it might be worth seeing a specialist ASAP. They can analyse your running gait, etc. Correct running technique now will make injuries less likely.
  12. i used to think that about physio - but when i started my knees just weren't playing ball .......... 2 sessions with a physio on my completely knotted up leg muscles (after 49 years) - and no knee pain You are pretty old though Will probably have to go down the physio route also when I hit your age lol
  13. Hate to admit this but am ingreement with Ioneabee.....sounds like your pushing a little too far too early. If you overdo it now it will set you back in the long term training wise. So take care. I don't really go in for all this physio nonsense mind, I'm a girl....I can deal with the pain lol Totally agree with gangzoom, mental challenge was the hardest bit for me! Just remember your training and fitness is more to do with your recovery after the marathon!
  14. Have you seen The Talented Mr Ripley? .....lots of cool jazz music
  15. Ive just bought a 2 bed flat just outside of watford for £285k, thats the cheapest thing in our area and we got lucky getting it. there is a new development of flats where they are asking roughly what i paid for mine for a studio! and they all sold! madness Are you near the TW sewage treatment works? Not far, just up the Uxbridge rd in mill end, are you from this area? No, Reading but OH is seconded to TW there as Senior QS/PM. Blue Scooby 'WRX' plate, might see him about.

  17. Damn, my alias is blown lol PM received, many thanks for info Need to have a chat with garage as might be beyond my skill level. Will be in touch!
  18. Would the Ultra Racing rear brace be a good replacement then, or better to stick with OEM? Also, if I did go down the UR version is it easy to fit, or will I need new fixings? Anyone replaced one themselves?
  19. Cheers, that's a big help ....will get it replaced ASAP. Bit annoyed as it went in for a major service just before Christmas and everything apart from that was mentioned. Lucky I was able to spot it today. GMballistic......C'mon I'm a girl, only read the gossip pages on here lol
  20. Had the car up on my mechanic friends ramp while I replaced the brake pads and bled the brakes this morning......don't get to look under the car too often but just noticed this...... The cars nearly 12 years, but should I be worried? How much roughly to replace?
  21. Really sorry to hear that Tom, I've lost a couple of friends in car crashes also
  22. Difficult to say from that photo, it was your spelling that bothered me lol
