Guys, if you listened to what the OP had said, he was considering the Scooby as an option for replacing both zed and Octavia. Practical but still a little fun. An Elise would probably not be a good idea as his sole daily ride!

I don't think going to a WRX will satisfy you enough after a Zed I'm afraid, especially if you have an Octavia. I think you will get bored of the WRX much quicker and despite the performance being similar, the whole experience and theatre that you get with a Zed (RWD, 2 seater etc.) far outweighs it. Despite the Scooby having 4WD and turbo, the difference is not enough to make the change. An STi might be but I would still test drive first. Unless he gets a posh one I've obviously got the chav version lol

Oh well in that case, definitely ditch the Octavia! Seen a few cars to tempt me, mainly an e class and an is200 for less than £1400 I can never make my mind up about Lexus....sounds like a bargain though!

I don't think my WRX is anyway comparable to my zed. Completely different trim and ride! One has raw, in ya face turbo power and AWD. Great for accelerating super fast from stationary and feeling the g-force. Rough interior. The other is refined power that just keeps going, unbelievable handling (when you get it right), much nicer interior. I know which one I get more smiles with....although the Scooby doesn't punish me if I'm having an 'off or tired' day. Both great cars, I'm lucky I have both.....not sure I would swap zed for Scooby!

I have a 2004 blobeye WRX. Had been barely used and was standard when we bought it. A few performance mods and it's running a little better than a stock STi, so can't really see the point of spending the extra dough and upgrading to one. Have you tried Scoobynet? I'm on there also (OB1-SCOOB1E). There are some really nice ones around still that haven't been ragged. I'd stay clear of the exploding 2.5l ones though, have a mate who is an ex-rally co-pilot and he looked after his and the engine still blew up a couple of months ago

I agree about MP3 quality but at the end of the day I listen to music in the car, when I'm running & in the house. Any 'sound' quality is lost behind engine and exhaust noise anyway in the car, my heart pounding when I'm running or background noise in the house. Unless I'm locking myself in a soundproof, acoustically optimised booth, I don't think I'm going to appreciate the difference in quality and I think the fact that I have thousands of songs to stream as and where I please at the touch of a button far outweighs this.

The Weeknd's album is pretty good though and Wretch 32 - Black and White.....awesome! Ironically, neither dead.

1) You should try replacing one in Scooby, nothing works afterwards! 2) I have done that soooo many times.....have a permanent dent in the back of my head. Man, does it hurt when it hits!

Agree, like I said to you this week......I didn't realise that Nirvana song was actually a Bowie cover until they started playing Bowie songs all day on the radio and we've had a couple of his albums for years. Did almost download his most recent album on the day he died, but when I listened to a couple of the songs thought it was a bit depressing Have the hangover from hell today by the way, that'll teach me
