  1. best ever car service experience on Friday. Took the 370z in for the yearly service and mot. Only other cars there were 3 current gtrs and a really nice very customised 350z! and some small white thing - it was a nissan but with seeing the others there i just remember seeing some white thing On top of that I got paid for working while being there, got there 9am early. they got internet there that's all I need for my job. and a window in the room so you can see it all happen. all done and drove home in the lunch time.
  2. hahahahah what a bell end. How unbelievably lucky is that car driver??? to lose it like that and end up in a gap? wow! that's crazy. is he running some 100 year old or cheap n nasty hard plastic tyres. On the bike, I would have done same. you can see at the beginning he's in the correct slow non overtaking lane and looking to go left from the start, pulls up to a halt, evaluates the situation and sees in his preferred path 2 huge trucks and a whole lot of cars but in the next lane 1 car only so chooses an easy safe option. I think he's riding a gsxr - one of the all time best fastest sports bikes but not at any high rpm to make any power and makes a slow gear change so it's clear to see in all behaviours he's got no interests to prove to the other traffic. At a guess he also would be expecting the car guy to be turning right from the position the car driver took so very doubtful of any challenge type motives here. he filters through and then in front and not pulled up alongside so he's visible to the drivers and not perceived as 'challenging'.

  5. lmfao because the space used by a car makes so much sense. if the rules were applied now about the uselessness and burden caused about what we know a car would never pass environmental checks. i like in the diagrams how it shows how fat a car driver is but he still wants more and feels inconvenienced and tries to argue pedantics. as well as the non argument that a cyclist holds up a car progression, of course there's no -10mph limit driver ahead. happy travels!
  6. Another bradders and Migwel school of thought subscriber in this thread here. He's gone too far, that's up there for fully unacceptable behaviour, it's up there with something like if some dude gives your gf @*!#. and I'd think how many hours work did you have to do to cover the fix? the law is soft as is cctv. personal experience: I had my motorbike stolen may 2014, central london westminster loading the bike into van under full office building security camera surveillance and then to steal another bike a few blocks up and then the van was tracked leaving town by anpr by a known bike stealer. I got a call just last month by a nice lady about how it might go to court in the next year but not too soon and if so what dates can't i do in that long term future. And once a pc support officer gave me @*!# about riding a bicycle along a footpath in my country town with no pedestrians on it except for her. shakin in my boots. I wouldn't expect you can talk sense with a moron like that. Go try talking to a drunk or a tree for some practice of getting experience with the level you'll be putting up with and see how do you like it and want some more. If you can back yourself: you're tougher and got more crazy friends then go beat him up and then equalise with some payback property damage of your own or £ to cover costs. if you're not, get crafty to get even. and above all remember rule #1, don't get caught.
  7. How good was this?!!!! unbeliveable stuff, there was the Ferrari P4/5 just out there touchable and getting rained on!! and the vulcan was the highlight car for me, surprising as I never get excited about any Aston newer than those older than 25 years old. Bike guys are always good, saw Casey Stoner, John Mcguiness and Scott Redding doing their honda stuff and getting out there hanging out with the crowds.
  8. question: If this happened and it wasn't considered to be in 'heatwave' conditions, ie: in Australia where this is a regular temperature wouldn't this be considered a manufacturing defect/shortfall or is the build a different spec? I know the rules allow a car to go from UK to AU and will pass standard roadworthy checks so I thought the builds were the same? If not then is it that the lower temperature climate allow a longer life of components in this case and Ewan's advice is right. If it's same spec builds then that advice would be right. Or, the only other exception I can think of, were you participating in a donut competition at the time?
  9. hi, a couple of 1st timer planning questions. there's some talk here of driving the track. would that be possible friday afternoon? that's my first choice I think. I'm on an 8am ferry so should be there mid afternoon - traffic permitting If not, or after, any recommended activities? CBW sounds worthwhile if it's doable. plan c. get to campsite beausejour and hit the bottle? I'm driving the Z down solo as my camping buddies are coming down in a rental car from london a few hours later. Not too happy about all stuff in the back of the car. I've never put anything except golf clubs in the back before! rule #1 - no practical reason.
  10. I'm a ninja and i kill bugs and tyres. outrun, double dragon -wicked!

  14. WAS looking good. Lol. Thanks. Diet is the hardest part for me. My default mode is fat bstard. Stick at it! Its great when you get the bug and results start coming in. Love that - I seem to have gone there as well - to many visitors with Doughnuts Krispy Kreme is LETHAL. Damn. I can eat 12 no problem. Especially the custard ones! wow. 12! serious? impressive! I always said I could but never actually tried. I probably couldn't. also I always got too harassed for being greedy and to share em. I've put away about 6 in 1 go before. Unfortunately I have a self imposed ban on em at moment as i got too fat recently. there is no competition in donuts when it comes to those things.
  15. Friday-Sunday camping at AA BEAUSEJOUR. have decided to drive my Z. no idea of what i'm in for there as i haven't been before but i have started preparation for what I think i need to do and that means I have got the folding chair out to test it and started freezing water to make ice blocks to chuck in the cooler bag for beers. that should be enough prep to get me thru weekend? Will keep an eye out for any z's and come say hi if i spot any.
  16. my custom made valve controllable straight thru from cat back makes some noise but I can't compare as I haven't come across any 370z's to compare. these cars are rare as! It's also getting louder as time goes on and it settles in.
  17. my local medical, grocery, domestic and present shop (£land) has a load of hot wheels and matchbox cars going at the moment. I went thru them and found 2 240z's. anyone who has a real 240z i could let you have one.

    Ecutek? ?

I was looking at getting an Ecutek, on the 370z just to go for something different plus it has a few extra features. So I spoke to Abbey tuning. What I got out of it: Ecutek cost roughly over 25% more. ECU map wise the Uprev offers the same. Ecutek offers flat foot shifing and launch control features. For that, you'll need to spend around 1K on an uprated clutch(parts and labour) to deal with the forces. For track or drag racing and in a more powerful car I'd need this but for the Z power output and being road car use I've decided against.
  20. You want fast with minimal running cost? depends on what you want to do with it. and then. easy answer. get a bike. there's nowhere on the road to properly use the power of the car. and I haven't done track but don't think a standard issue Z don't think could handle a whole lot of it without mods before and constant maintenance after. sc is expensive and increases chance of problems as with any mods from factory standard. good for drag racing. perhaps you could change your gear ratios to make it take off fast and same again for top end but there's no place on the road to really notice any of that. On the bike about 2 weeks ago I did about 100 laps of aragon gp circuit in 3 days then sent it straight to Portimao circuit where I'll do another 3 days on full power. When I get it back i've got a standard service booked and will look at tyre changing and inspect brake pad wear. I've just spent all afternoon wasting petrol driving slowly along the S/E coast in the coolest car in town. that's what the Z is for on the road.
  21. the stang. cos i've got a 370z already not nismo but a gt - must have those current nismo seats tho! and i'm adding to it the much neeeded essential nismo perf mods. the stang's got a little v8 and betters the best tech addition to come along since the 370z's synchro rev - burn out mode! good call on this one, I reckon they're both roughly equal and unmatched for heritage along with the 911. although the ford might be losing some points there releasing a 4 pot.
  22. looks interesting, any general admittance tickets available through here by any chance?
  23. I got the bypass fitted last month but it's in a cat back twin system where the valve opens which enables one of the pipes to be a straight thru. I have the options of both a remote control and a console switch to control it but use the switch only which is a much better option all round the remote is a bit of a gimmick. I went to Wales to get it done. Found the guy through positive experiences of other members on this site. Charlie at pro-speed. Can't tell you about performance but i'm still fully into having the party mode/stealth mode option so would recommend it if you think you might want one. It's worth the drive out there to make a tour of it from where you are as nowhere's better for driving roads than out that way.
  24. hmmm. thinking i shouldn't have been so lazy and put up with the drive there and got myself onto this one.... conditions are looking good there and I went to Wales for first time to get exhaust fitted last month and said to myself - i'll be back.
