I think Stevo may have a point here, as certain cars are synonymous to what people may consider a "Hot Rod" to be, it's quite difficult to break away from the traditional idea that we are bombarded with as to what is or isn't a Hot Rod. It's similar to the term "UFO" because when you say to someone " have you ever seen a UFO" they're likely to think of a flying disc that amounts to a "space-ship" that has travelled from a very distant galaxy, when in reality, anything that can't be identified in the sky is potentially a UFO, it doesn't necessarily mean that it came from another galaxy. I think the same idea can be applied to what is a Hot Rod. I do get it, you say "Hot Rod" and i'll think off a cut and chopped olds mobile with a thumping V8 and shiny wheels.

I think nearly every insurance quote ive had has come in MORE expensive if you say its garaged rather than left on a public street. The logic from the insurance companies perspective is that if its in a garage a thief can break in, then as he is out of sight can spend as long as he wants messing about with your car. Whereas if its on a street then more chance of someone seeing/disturbing any potential thief. Wow , I didn't know that, who'd've thunk it?

Yeah but, no but, yeah but, improvement to some degree can be in the eye of the beholder when talking about the look of a car. So, you could say " I have improved its looks, yet compromised the handling somewhat " but that's a choice the owner makes.

That sounds like it'd be difficult to prove but best of luck with it. Worth a try. I'd get lots of pics of the offending articles in advance of sending a letter before they can do anything about it if they wanted to.
