  1. No worries chief!! Huntingdon, a 5 minute drive down the road from me. Will def have to meet up some time.
  2. Took the Zed to my mates garage. He said the code was something to do with the Lambdas not getting hot enough ??? Anyway, I explained that it happened after the car had sat for 3 months and it came on when I tried to start it but the battery was too dead, to which he replied that it may have caused the EML to come on. Either way it's been wiped, he said otherwise the car was running fine. Unfortunately he wiped the code while I was making the tea so I didn't get a chance for him to tell what exactly was the fault code which is my fault for not asking in the first place.
  3. I can remember seeing a pimped out VW Phaton! Similar to how you described, also trying to set a new land speed record down the A428. Tailgating, flashing his lights. What a berk!!
  4. Whenever I see wood interior in cars I just feel like saying "drop anchor and set sail!"
  5. BTW Stevo, good to know you got around St.Neots o.k. I won't cringe so much when going over speed bumps once lowered.
  6. Excellent stuff guys!! And many thanks for the pics and advice Think i'm going to go with the Tein-S springs @ 20mm. I'll ask Santa for Christmas
  7. well, if it's bubbling you know it's going to be bigger whether you leave it, or after it's been rubbed down. There'll be rust underneath the bubbling.
  8. I had this problem with previously lowered cars. Ramps at the MOT centre
  9. how big is the spot? like a 5p, 20p,10p, 50p? i'd reckon it's going to be around £80 but don't quote me on that.
  10. Like the Azure blue? if so it'd look really nice.
  11. Cheers for that AliveBoy, love that spoiler too!! but when you say "a touch" are you talking 10 mm? 20mm?
  12. lol, that did make me chuckle. I'm just a little worried as my N-spec front bumper is carbon composite and is likely to kerrrack like a nut on the sleeping policeman. It is slightly lower than the rest of the car. I am thinking about taking it off and either shaving some off the bottom of the lip or flogging it and just getting a standard bumper.
  13. Toying with the idea of lowering the Zed. I've had lowered cars before and have managed to escape cuffing the front bumper on road humps or cuffing the chassis away from underneath to leave my arse grating the road. But I think the zed looks reasonably low as it is, or maybe mine has already been lowered but I don't think it has . So, for those of you who have lowered your zeds, do you spend a lot of your driving time carefully planning routes that avoid speed bumps?
  14. If it were me, i'd just try to approach it locally ( the area in question ) rather than a roof re-spray. Besides, being the roof it'd be difficult to notice if there were a colour difference too due to the sun's shine on it. If you didn't notice it until recently with rust, I doubt anyone else will if just that part is re-sprayed.
  15. just thought i'd make it interesting in the world of "lol"
  16. If anything, at least you know your car has a decent map by a reputable company and is running how it "should be"
  17. Just send a thank you card as in " thanks for turning up" followed by "you tight gits!" Congratulations BTW.
  18. I think The father-in-law was saying you can buy them online and get them downloaded onto the ecu. I did this with my MK4 golf TDI which made a considerable difference. Colour preference?
  19. My OEM Y-pipe flexis looked like jarlsberg! loads of holes. They were hissing and popping all over the joint. Just get a new Y-pipe and be done with it.
  20. yes they certainly do, father-in-law has one. They can be re-mapped can't they?
  21. me too! thinkin of going super flex bushes all round with new banana arms and what not. Tighten up the crate.
  22. Scirrocos. They're lovely cars. Good choice sir. Going to go for a sporty version?
  23. Cheers fellas. I've already put spacers on the Y-pipe for the lambdas and it has been fine for hundreds of miles. It only happened after the battery went flat as the Zed was standing for 3 months without moving due to repairing and spraying the bumper. Last time i had the code read at a friends garage he said it was the lambdas and just wiped the EML. I am assuming it's the lambdas which, as we know, assumption is the mother of all f%$k ups. I'll get it down there during the week.
  24. a2orry Posted Today, 21:21 "Lambda and 02 sensor is the same thing". Learn something new on here every time I come online. Cheaper than I thought is the positive then.
