  1. Dam that's annoying but I take it nobody was hurt when the burglars struck?! That's the main thing. Not sure I'd want it back after the thieves have ragged it but fingers crossed for the owner that he gets the outcome he wants and the thieves get what's coming to them.
  2. Welcome aboard Matt. Moved your post here as it felt more appropriate being your first post.
  3. If you drive to the conditions you're faced with (speed appropriate with safe travelling distances) then there really is no need to change to winter tyres imo. I see it as an expense that is unnecessary for the most part in the UK. Just imho of course.
  4. Yep I day dream over Lotus on & off but lately been looking at the VX220's as a cheaper alternative. Just not sure I could live with it as a daily driver so it would have to be a second car which at the moment I can't afford to do. Still thought I'd mention them as they seem to be a fairly good alternative to an Elise.
  5. Would love to see some pics if you can as we're all petrolheads on here. Guide on "how to add pics to the forum" here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/103472-how-to-add-your-photos-to-the-forum/
  6. Looking forward to seeing your progress Andy and hoping for some wins. You deserve it after all the hard work, blood, sweat & tears that have gone into resurrecting the Phoenix.
  7. To answer your thread title, ...No. I used to have a 2003 Civic Type R (EP3) which I think was my favourite FWD car that I've owned as imo it had just about the right amount of power to weight ratio to be fun which was coupled with a fantastic handling set up. Definitely wouldn't say that was a boring car and very rewarding when driven hard. But would I have a FWD over my current 4WD vehicle? Or possibly over a RWD vehicle? Then probably no again unless it was something really special which I've yet to see.
  8. Welcome aboard. So is it a classic Subaru then or is it one of the more modern ones? (bug eye, blob eye, hawk eye, hatchback??).
  9. You can check the code without a code reader but it is a bit more of a PITA. Use the ECU reset procedure below to get the EML to start flashing which will "morse code" style give you the code (video attached below to hopefully make it easier to understand)... ECU reset guide: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/53148-how-to-ecu-accelerator-pedal-throttle-valve-resets/ 350Z fault codes PDF here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/81962-350z-fault-codes-in-pdf/ Your best bet though still might be taking this problem to an Auto-electrician. Hope that helps in some way.
  10. Welcome back. Some 240Z related threads for you: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/88297-darren-bs-1971-240z-project-pumpkin-major-update-p48/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/92003-new-project-datsun-240z/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/88963-stanced-datsun-240z-project/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/86035-a-240z-worth-drooling-over/
  11. Usually for the windscreen washers not working I'd point you in the direction of one of the countless threads on it as it has been covered so many times. Like here most recently: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/112174-screen-wash-not-working/ ...But yours sounds like some sort of electrical problem to me from what you've said as if replacing the fuse has now caused the sidelights to stay on & lights on the dashboard to light up then that's very strange?! Have you got a code reader to see if any error codes are showing?
  12. From 2014: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/93467-marvellous-z/ There are countless others... Locked.
  13. Thread moved. As Dan kindly mentioned it's an aftermarket switch so could be for literally anything; neon lights, garage door opener, fog light (especially if JDM), strobes, aftermarket immobiliser etc. Might even be for something a previous owner had fitted but removed before selling the car.
  14. Sweet looking dog d95gas. Enjoy your new friend.
  15. Doesn't look too bad Rock_Steady and a great starting base.
  16. I've approved this for you now Erni but can you please edit the advert to state how much you want for it including P&P please.
  17. Engine cover here in carbon fibre: http://www.jdmgarageuk.com/nissan-350z-carbon-engine-cover.html When I had my Zed I got my engine bay cover from Chris@Tarmac Sportz although I'm unsure if he can still get them. You could also try asking Adrian@Torqen as he can also get parts from America where there may or may not be more available. Worth a PM.
  18. Fingers crossed for her Pete and I hope this is all behind you for the most part before Christmas. All the best Gareth.
  19. I haven't owned a 370 hence why I didn't want to comment on them to in depth as my knowledge on them is nothing compared to the 350 as that's what I owned and put my time into learning about. I do think though that 350Bhp with bolt on mods and a remap should be achievable for the 370Z. I modified my 350Z as far as I could performance wise in N/A guise firstly which got me 294Bhp@fly, was a 2003 DE Zed so started around "276Bhp" when new but who knows what it was when I first got it. Then I took it to the next level which was going FI ~ I decided on a Vortech supercharger kit which netted me 436Bhp@fly so a healthy increase over my previous power levels. Obviously transformed the car and was fantastic. Info, pics & videos in my old build thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/91628-gmballistics-zed-supercharged-2003-gun-metal-gt-coupe-vids-added/ Some of your questions with regards to the "best" parts though will be personal choice as some parts may net similar or the same power/torque increases but just vary in style, looks or price especially when you're talking exhausts & air intakes. I'd try not to focus too much on the weight of the car as with regards to that in the 350 Zeds case I felt that it helped in making the car feel more planted on the road and inspired confidence in it's handling.
