  1. Spitfire and Hurricane over Worcester yesterday, apparently.
  2. I used Kiwi liquid shoe polish on mine ...
  3. Mine went through its MOT ok today. Got them to check these bushes as I'm (sometimes) getting a clonk from the front nearside. Got an advisory on both of these bushes, but no significant play. I'll get them replaced in the next few weeks, I think.
  4. Before my man cave was acquisitioned by my ever growing daughter, I had the 360 upstairs. Now it's downstairs, it difficult to play games with more adult content downstairs whilst she is around. My gamerscore has suffered because of it. Need to ship her off somewhere for a few weeks to push above the 62K mark. Still a way to go to challenge the guy that's topped 1M though.
  5. What else did you pick up ?? Nier (never heard of it, liked the cover ... it's the way I used to buy my albums when I was a teenager), Two Tomb Raider games (not played a Tomb Raider game since disliking the original), Janes Advanced Strike Fighters (I still like combat flight sims, even though consoles have them very much dumbed down) Two Kane and Lynch games, cause I've not played them and they were £2 a pop. Alan Wake, cause I've not played it and it was £2 or so. Fable 2 and 3, Fuse, Prey (which I've played on PC, but not finished and it was a quid), Sniper Black Site They're now in the cupboard with: COD: Black Ops Deus X Human Evolution, Dead Space 1 and 2, Bioshock 1 and 2, Dead Island, Dead Rising 2, Eternal Sonata, Dark Souls, Saints Row the Third, GTA 5, SSX Dark Sector, Simpsons, Lego Star Wars, Blood Bowl, Battlefiled 4, Far Cry 3, Tiger Woods 11, Splinter Cell Blacklist. All of which I've not (or barely) started
  6. Nice looking beastie. Enjoy, mate, and welcome by.
  7. My wife got done in Ross-on-Wye being late for the last day of her job before being made redundant. Boy, was she happy. 37 in a 30, IIRC. The course was £80 cf. a £100 fine and no points, and she came away from it thinking that the course itself was actually pretty good.
  8. Finished Star Trek, which was quite good for a fiver, and likewise Enslaved. Now mulling which of the other 15 preowneds I picked up for £60 to start next.
  9. And that's the truth of it. Providing us with a financial umbrella in the event of misfortune is the service we must buy. They need to make the most they can off us without us picking a competitor. If they can club together to reduce the number of common variables and concentrate on their own CVPs and USPs, then that makes their lives more straightforward. As with most business, we are cattle to be herded.
  10. I'm still mulling over what to do with my OEM Bose. Or Skippy as it's known. It's currently got the tape deck full of silica gel, as I read somewhere that the issue is sometimes down to condensation in the unit. Seems to have helped a bit, but need to bite the bullet in the long term.
  11. Nearside, actually. Never could tell left from right ....
  12. Mine's hanging by a thread at the moment. Seems the Zed's designer took a day off that day and left it to the tea boy.
  13. Got something that sounds the same. A clonk over bumps (I.e. everywhere given the current state of the roads round here) from the front offside at low speed. Thought it was drop links, but this gives me something else to explore. MOT this week, so will get them to check.
  14. None in 27 years of driving. Been pulled over twice. Once for driving the car I shared with my learner brother on my own (sole driver with L plates) but produced my licence and was fine. And the other time was for "cutting up" a copper coming off duty from Birmingham Airport at 6am ... He was going well over the speed limit and claimed my pulling into the right hand lane at a roundabout was dangerous. Mock contrition meant I was on my way with a ticking off.
  15. Don't know how much was real or me in my good spirits, but the handling seemed a fair bit more poised, exact and smoother coming off roundabouts under power than before too.
  16. Refurbed Rays with brand new MPSS installed. Hoovered, cleaned, shined and leather treated inside. Washed, clayed, and dried off round the bypass. Just the few stonechips to sort now.
  17. I'm going to try to touch up the increasing number of small paint chips on my front bumper. The paint code for the car is KY0 or KYO, which is some kind of silver. Halfords website claims that their "Nissan Blade silver" is the correct colour. The guy in Halfords when I went in looked it up on the system and said it was Nissan Silver Metallic (which was also in the rack and looked lighter than the Blade Silver) or that he could make me up a batch. I've looked online and seen KY0 as being described as being Chrome Metallic Silver, Brilliant Silver and Diamond Silver. So I am a tad confused as to what I should be looking for. Anyone any experience of touching up this paint code and can advise?
  18. Richie Blackmore ... and egotistical arse, but damn, when you can play like that ... In the same vein ... Prince ... I never rated the guy until I watched this video ... I'm told by guitarists that it's not the most technically impressive performance, but when you can get feeling like this from wood and metal, I don't care.
  19. I had a service and MOT on my Scirocco at a local garage about 20 years ago. Paid up, jumped in the car, turned over the engine (again without checking if it was in gear). It was in first and I drove through the wooden fence in front of the car and into an old lady's garden. She was sat in the garden at the time (fortunately nowhere near her unexpectedly exploding fence) and boy was she not happy. Garage took responsibility (even though it technically was my fault) and replaced her fence for her, which was good of them. Not a mark on the Scirocco either. Guess what I do twice every time I get in the car these days?
  20. I have owned: 1 x Vauxhall Allegro 1 x Mk 5 2l Cortina 1 x Austin Montego 2 x Mk 2 VW Scirocco 1 x Mitsubishi FTO 1 x 350Z Roadster Not many cars in 26 years of driving, it must be said, but since owning a Japanese car, they are always my first choice. Having said that, my early car owning years were particularly dire, so I think badge snobbery was never an issue for me. Having my dad put his foot through the passenger seat floor of the Allegro ... and its back seat coming adrift and sliding about with every corner ... and the electrical problem where sporadically between going from main beam to dip I'd lose all external lights for about 10 seconds (a bit of excitement on the dark lanes at night) ... and the gearbox finally dumping itself onto the tarmac at 50mph ... the FTO that scarcely had any issues in 12 years of ownership really sold me on the reliability of Japanese cars.
  21. 1. All Quiet on the Western Front 2. Shawshank Redemption 3. Fight Club Actors: 1. John Cusack 2. Tim Robbins 3. David Warner
  22. Finished Rage, which I found disappointing and now on Earth Defense Force 2025, which is fundamentally the same game as EDF 2017, but as I'm a fan I don't care. Also started Prototype 2, which I'm really enjoying.
  23. As she was made redundant last month, it'll be me paying her increased insurance costs. Heads I lose, tails looks like it has a head on that side too.
