  1. R8 does nothing for me personally. I'd take the Honda all day long over it.
  2. Went out to a meet tonight and got a few little clips on the drive up there, headed through with my mate in a 2010 STI, all within national speed limit obviously Pops and Bangs anyone?
  3. If you're a broker. Typical arrangement fee is between £25 or £30 pounds, in year one that's all the broker will make and the rest will go to the insurer. The broker has to pay the comparison website around £50 (If I remember rightly) for each new policy sold and sometimes will cover part of the insurers premium too.
  4. Most insurers will load a policy with commission at renewal, best bet is comparison websites as most actually go through a broker and the broker will sell it at a loss in year one by covering a portion of the premium. Same as most businesses unfortunately, sell at a loss to new customers and exploit the loyal ones to make up for the short fall. Setting that aside tho prices have risen for many this year regardless of commission and tax etc , if insurers have paid out a lot in claims within the last year everyone suffers unfortunately. The amount of personal injury claims paid out due to "whiplash" etc is absolutely killing the industry.
  5. Looks like good fun! Always liked the S2000, shame it's getting so expensive over here now.
  6. Wrong. I won a Mcflurry once
  7. Much better than I was dude. Have good days and bad days to be honest but thankfully I'm past the point of spending all day obsessing over everything etc. I can live my life for myself now, I've been promoting the band, arranging/playing gig's and taking on more at work etc. I've also mastered a few guitar techniques that I've been wanting to learn for ages but never had the time. I'm starting to realize how stressed out I was living with my ex, constantly walking on eggshells and worrying about the relationship. So many times I've slept on the couch, or been locked out and had to spend the full day at work not knowing if I would even be let in the house when I got back etc, that's just no way to live. I'm starting to realize and believe that I never deserved any of that, I'm not perfect but I'm a good man, I was doing my best to fix things while she was creating drama, gas lighting, stonewalling etc. I accepted all the blame she put on me for it but looking back it's obvious her feelings had changed and she was just taking it out on me for whatever reason. I still have days where I miss her but I'm starting to try and develop a f*ck it, attitude. So yea, I'm up and down fella, thankfully I have a good support network and lot's of things to do that I couldn't do while I was with her.
  8. Where about's do you live fella? If your ever anywhere near Newcastle hit me up.
  9. Anything done after the car came off the production line is classed as a mod in the eyes of an insurance company. So optional extra body kits applied by dealers etc have to be disclosed unless the car was ordered as new with it fitted from factory. whether or not they notice is a different story obviously.
  10. Or an angry wasp that zooms in through your window when doing 70 on a motorway.
  11. Nice. I'm at work today so can't view it right now but I'll check it out tonight
  12. That's a good point. I've mentioned it on here once before but I once went out in a 600HP Supra and while it was completely breath-taking it was a complete license losing machine and I'm not sure many would have the level of self control to be sensible in something like that on the road.
  13. Ah I forgot you mentioned it was wet, that explains things. Maybe the old boy racer in me hasn't died completely but I'm always interested to see different car's performance from roll races etc.
  14. I must say I'm quite curious as too how fast a 400BHP Z feels in the real world. Unsure if it would be set your pants on fire, thrilling/fast as it's still a heavy car. What makes a "fast" car is obviously subjective, to the average Joe a stock Z is fast but you guys know what I mean. Edit - for example I remember a thread on here about the new Type R keeping up with a boosted Z, would be interesting to see how my 320HP ST fairs against a boosted Z from a roll, I'd fully expect to get murdered If anyone has a boosted Z and an airfield handy hit me up
  15. Wow! That's a @*!# load of car for the money. I'd have snapped that up had it been around while I was car shopping last time.
  16. Still unsure how holes on the bonnet have anything to do with it? Seems like a pretty freak and unlikely set of circumstances leading up to this, I've never heard of this happening before?
  17. Never got stopped once in the 350Z. Funny story kind of on the subject.... I once went to a very big north east car "cruise" in the Z, their was a huge traffic jam of modded cars leading up to the meet and police cars were checking out cars near the entrance just off the roundabout. A policeman signaled me and I wound my window down, he said he would guide me out so I could get past the traffic jam. I laughed and told him I was going to the car meet, he was shocked, evidence a 350Z is still classy and doesn't have a chav image (just yet anyway).
  18. I really need to get back in the gym. I'm a skinny dude naturally, currently a combo of skinny with a bit of muscle across shoulders and chest and a bit of a belly. I got in good shape for recent holiday with the ex but haven't bothered keeping it up. Any gains literally drop off me the second I stop training.
  19. Cheers guys. So happy to be driving something enjoyable again, that mini was driving me mad
  20. Update - It's fixed. So after £400 quid for a new alternator and bonnet lock (common fault) "torque garage" in forest hall recommended it goes to an auto electrician. Last time I posted here I had the car back home and had drove it with no signs of problems, battery was fully charged when I checked it, then low and behold dead in the morning again. At this point I was starting to think the battery's just buggered but was worried about the overheating issue the garage mentioned so figured better safe than sorry. £80 later for an auto electric to check over the full car and he tells me he can't find a fault, no overheating etc and he states as predicted I need a new battery. New battery fitted and car has been running spot on ever since (fingers crossed). Fair to say I'm pretty unhappy with torque garage and won't be using them again, I'm convinced all it needed was a battery all along. Live and learn.
  21. Ah I saw an old 2 door Type R scoob recently and it was brutal!! Never knew what all the fuss was about with these classic imprezas but I can see that now. The bloke was driving like a nob really (standard for scoob drivers), but the way it got around the roundabout was insane, never saw a car corner so fast. By the time I had got around the roundabout he was literally gone. I caught up later and the sound of the thing was insane, huge pops and bangs, probably running some sort of anti lag. Spoke to the dude and he claimed it was running 550 ish BHP. Can well believe it too. Made my 320BHP ST look like a toy car. Safe too say I was on pistonheads that night
  22. Dude that's not true! A road trip would be awesome but I have too much going on right now to think about it. Plus I need to sort out my finances and get my own place. You're completely right about not dating for a while, it will probably be at least a year for me too. I would only compare the new girl to the ex and that's not fair on anyone involved.
  23. She was annoying as f*ck to be honest. She just talked and talked and talked, laughed at her own jokes. She couldn't sit still either, either mentally unstable or on stimulant drugs of some sort
  24. Also 11 pages and going strong, looks like I hit a nerve with this thread!
