  1. I've been saying that on here for ages now, the capabilities of modern hot hatch backs is properly mental. With that said a recent meet I attended at a ford club really opened my eyes as to what can be achieved with the slightly older cars with a few simple (ish) mods. One lad had a Hybrid Turbo MK2 ST and it was very fast in gear. Running a reliable 379+ BHP for less than 8k including the car purchase is mental.
  2. It's cool, I don't think anyone on here actually owns a Z anymore!
  3. Yea to be fair I did sell the Z for a front wheel drive scrabble wagon
  4. I have some frankly outrageous stories around this and I'm not proud of it. Some are a little funny depending on how you look at it. At least nobody got hurt and I still have a license. I've grown up now thankfully, I would share my stories but don't want to lower peoples opinion of me.
  5. I was in exactly the same boat when looking at moving on from the Z. It came down to a choice between having the power/performance I wanted or having the body style I wanted (2 door Coupe). Ideally I'd be driving a modern rear wheel drive coupe coupe with 300+ BHP but within my budget it wasn't really possible.
  6. https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/supra/toyota-supra-mk-iv-1994-na-t/7682232 10 Big ones for a NA to Turbo converted Auto here.... Nice and clean looking too! Always loved the look of the Supra, so much road presence in the flesh
  7. I'm undecided on the looks, I don't think it looks great but on the other hand it's not bad and I'd certainly feel happy with one sat on my drive, I do think the previous model looked much better. Lovely car to drive and plenty of power, however engine lacks character and sounds boring even with full exhaust etc. Bit of a marmite car like you say, personally I'd rather the Focus RS but I'd not say no to one of these. Would be interesting to see how it fairs up with my CP320 ST, a more old school hatch with bags of torque and less technology.
  8. I was never interested in the FN2 either to be honest, the mrs loves them tho. Ive done a complete 180 after driving it, such a fun car and it looks much better in the flesh than in pictures, the seats in it are perfect too. It makes my ST feel like a GT car in comparison. Yea they did a white one with an LSD, I could probably get one of them and have enough left over for a supercharger if I sold the ST privately. Very tempted.
  9. Picked it up today! First impressions are way better than I expected, its not what I would consider quick in a straight line but the high reving K20 is blissfull, I forgot how good the gearboxs are in these wee hondas too. The whole car feels so much more focused and track orientated than my ST.
  10. Ditto fella. I try not to think about it too much Nearly bought a super low mile Hard Top AP1 S2k before getting the Z a few years ago for 7k, would have been worth a small fortune now. Used car market seems crazy at the minute.
  11. Yea they really have. On the other hand the EP3 has started to creep up in value, a nice example will cost similar money to the FN2 now.
  12. Softer and more modern is exactly what she is looking for so that shouldn't be a problem. Checked the MOT site whilst at work and it look's promising, it's passed pretty much every year first time, again suggesting the previous owner looked after it all year round. It needed new disks which have been recently fitted, it's also had the rubber seal across the top of the windscreen done with Honda as they can dig into the metal and rust. Big fan of the K20 engine myself, looking forward to borrowing the civic from time to time
  13. On the hunt for a new car for the Mrs as her current Renault Clio is on deaths door. She's always fancied another Type R since getting rid of the EP3 and with prices of the FN2 getting low we decided to go and have a look at a couple. We looked at a few low millage cars within our budget of 5 thousand and most of them were tatty, with aged interior, miss matching tyres and scuffs on the bodywork etc, we then came across a car well under budget with higher miles than I would normally go for (99K) On inspection of the car it was in way better condition than the others we viewed, previously owned by a bus driver and he's had all the work done by Honda, car is on good tyres all round and has good history, look's well looked after. I know the millage shouldn't be a problem but I'd be lying if I said it isn't a little off putting. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201704154453387?advertising-location=at_cars&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&radius=1500&make=HONDA&model=CIVIC&sort=price-asc&keywords=type r&postcode=ne47ya&page=10 Going to drive it on Wednesday and all going well will be taking it home with me. Opinions?
  14. Argh this is turning into a complete headache. Cant get an answer when ringing the court, have no idea how to find out which court convicted me in absense. No reply to either email, neither the council or the TEC can tell me which court dealt with this and as predicted the bailiff wont tell me either. Cant do a statutory decleration until I know where Im sending it. Texted and emailed the courts ring back service but been waiting all morning. Any advice?
  15. Good question haha! I found the templates etc after work today, the court contact number was already out of use by this point, lines shut at 5. Thanks for your help, so much misinformation and contradicting info online I didn't have a clue where to start and was just going to fold and pay it.
  16. Didnt have time to contact the courts today as I was at work within the opening hours. I have since emailed them explaining the situation and asking for information regarding how to make a statutory decleration. Im off tomorrow so will ring them first thing. I have found a template online for the decleration. I have since done research on this and it would appear I have a good chance of getting it sorted. The bailiffs were unhelpful as predicted Dan, they stated they will continue to enforce it until advised not too.
  17. Cheers Dan, I was hoping you would reply. I have no documentation regarding this and I'm struggling to find any contact numbers for the relevant departments. I'm at work at the minute but my first point of action was to ring the council and find out details of the alleged bus lane incident, I'm assuming they can point me in the direction of the courts etc? I'm willing to fight this but a bit concerned that the Bailiffs won't leave my dad alone in the mean time.
  18. frustrating news today! Had a call from my Dad to state he has had ballifs at the door due to a unpaid bus lane fine dated december last year. As some of you know Ive been working away from home so haven't been checking my post often. Have dug through all my post today and can't find a single letter relating to this. Apparantly I was caught out in a bus lane that was put in the most obscene place in newcastle city center, badly signed and no way of avoiding it once you have turned onto the road its on. It was in the papers at the end of last year as it caught hundreds of motorists out. Im under the impression many appealed at the time and got the charges waved. Just venting at this point, doubt theres much point in appealing as I cant imagine that getting anywherefast and my Dad is obviously stressed about having ballifs at his door. Agreed to pay them tomorrow. £407!!!! Rip off britain at its finest.
  19. Nobody's going to pay that for a Yaris surely? I'm sure most of the 200BHP Hot Hatches are under 20k....
  20. I can't even put this into words.
  21. Very nice, sounds well too! Running stock power? This is one of those cars I cant believe I havent owned yet. Dreamt of one for years as a kid but since becoming in a position to buy one its never been my first choice. Starting to increase in value now too Ive noticed.
  22. 16k for a complete shed! No thanks, nothing short of outragous that to be honest.
  23. Thanks GM! First fast non Jap car Ive ever owned and Im really enjoying it at the minute. So much fun
  24. Screamer pipe would be awesome but I belive Id need aftermarket turbo to run one. Gave the engine bay a proper clean today and gave the car a well needed wash/wax. So nice having a car with zero rust/scratches and such nice condition paint for once!
  25. I have done a few drift days now with Learn to drift, great day out! Picked up it pretty easily and was going sideways around teeside on my second run out Willy waving aside - I genuinely think Drifting on Forza 5 helped me transition into real life drifting quite easy
