  1. Still waiting for pictures Dan............
  2. Broke the CV Boot on the Driveshafts and was loosing oil, common problem on ST's especially once modified, just lucky I caught it in time otherwise it would have been a new drive shaft Job. Driveshaft out this morning, new CV Boot fitted and all back together again within the hour.
  3. Just casually browsing piston heads at work as usual and stumbled across this https://www.pistonheads.com/news/general-pistonheads/hyundai-i30-n-full-details/36486 4 cylinder, Six Speed, front wheel drive Turbo (So original) Look's like a cross between every popular Hot Hatch out at the minute, saying that it look ok actually. Still 30K for a Hyundai? I can't see people buying this over a Golf R or Focus RS. I think It's cool that manufacturers are pushing the limits of hot hatch backs, I just wish they could put slightly more interesting engines in them.
  4. As above! Looks well on the white one as it contrasts with the wheels. Seems to look a bit cheap looking on the blue, maybe a better picture angle is needed.

    Golf R

Golf R is a cracking car but like a couple have said there's something a little lacking about it. Very quick, very capable but just a little lacking in character which is important to me, I'd have the Focus RS over it any day of the week. I've had a few runs with a mates stock Golf R and from a roll I will edge him slowly, from a dig I might as well be in a 1.2 Corsa It's the tuning potential of these new hot hatches that's fascinating, videos on youtube of Golf R's running 11 second quarters with a map only. Makes big sports cars like the Z seem a little old in the tooth now.
  6. Hotel WiFi is rubbish and I can't get the x box to connect online unfortunately. I'm staying at the village hotel in Birmingham. No offence to anyone else who happens to live here but my god, the city is a complete dump. It's 70% Industrial, 10% train station and 20% kebab shops Currently on the train back to Newcastle and away for the weekend, looking forward to seeing the Tyne bridge on arrival, home sweet Home!
  7. Currently 3 months into working away. First experience of doing this and its bassicly turned into a lads holiday. Company is picking up the hotel bill and the booze has been flowing every night! Im assuming plenty of you on here have done this before, the boredom is real, either sit in a hotel room or drink with the lads in the bar. Not sure what my point is here but I there is one somewhere! Going stir crazy. Currently thinking of how to spend the extra money on car parts haha.....
  8. And on topic sure I've saw Z's run high 13's before. What does the 370Z run?
  9. 350Z Jack of all trades master of non Lovely car but it doesn't really excel in any area aside from looks/noise.
  10. I wanted something fast, reliable (lol read my thread) and family friendly. Opted for a CP320 focus ST. Proper review is in my thread. Outright pace is great, makes a fantastic noise that would rival the Z (in my opinion). Being the final run its the facelift version in performance blue and while its obviously not rare as such ive yet to see another facelift like mine on the road. I miss the low slung drive of the Z and rear wheel drive but Always felt the Z was too slow and it bothered me to the point of selling up. Like many I was stuck with the predicament of having to spend a LOT more money if I wanted a modern rear wheel drive coupe with more power and frankly I couldnt afford a 911 etc. The focus is a bit of a compromise I guess but its great fun and will hang with much more expensive metal once rolling. Its also nice having something modern with perfect paint etc. The little rust marks and age related marks really got on my nerves with my Z, as soon as one was sorted another patch would show up.
  11. Went into a ford dealer today. Honestly Im sure they dont actuallly want to sell any RS's. every time ive enquired about one im met with complete un enthusiasm, today I was pointed in the direction of a disel ST and told "this is bassicly the same as the RS but better mpg" and "we dont get the RS in very often". I was then offered 6k for a car I paid 11 for 5 month ago. No thanks!!!
  12. Im leaning towards that way of thinking now. Still its very satisying having a car much faster than what it was standard (when its working properly). Dont want to jinx things but its running very well at the minute. Suppprised a new shape focus RS and a HR Z yesterday, all within legal limits obviously. Still cant lie ive really got the ford bug now and the new RS is very tempting.
  13. Im learning that turbo cars are fun but so much more work involved with the up keep especially when moddified. All seems worth it when things are running properly but not so much the rest of the time!!
  14. Forgot to update this thread! Turns out the old owner put the worlds worst spark plugs in and one of them had completely destroyed itself. Ive never saw a plug like it, there was bassicly nothing left of it. By some miracle it has either melted into nothing or went into the clyinder and somehow not caused any damage. Replaced plugs with decent ones and all is good. Compression good on all 5 cylinders too.
  15. Has nobody watched the links I put up yet? Be prepared to be outraged
  16. Thanks guys, I just knew in my heart I wasn't ready to walk away from this yet and I'm pleased we get one more chance at things. I've already promised myself this will be the last time and I know she has done the same. Fingers crossed for our future together, worst comes too at least I know I gave it my all. Anyway enough of the soppy stuff, I want to move on from the past and look to the future now, I probably wont be commenting on this thread anymore as it's all said and done now. Lets get back to arguing about politics or something
  17. This recent one is frankly outrageous
  18. Stumbled across this tonight while browsing youtube and feel it's quite fitting. This bloke has been trying to get the UK to open it's eyes to the growing extremist problem for years. his story is well worth a watch before making any judgements on him. Well worth a watch if you have a spare hour or so.
  19. Nah dude the browser took a wobbler and stepped back two pages, I've lost everything! It is worth mentioning I did end up going to see a councillor as advised in this thread and found it very enlightening, he also told me about the "distance/pursuer" imbalance that can take place in a relationship and how it can become that way, I found it interesting to read up on and found a really good article that explains it well here..... https://www.sowhatir...and-distancing/ It's fascinating to me as it accurately describes the dynamic in our original failed relationship right down to how our upbringings have resulted in us acting in these ways. Forgive me if I'm mistaken @TT350 but I think you may find the article of interest too, some of the things you said in this thread made it appear you may have had a similar dynamic in your relationship. Anyway, in short we haven't just dove back into things head first, we have talked, learnt about ourselves and realized what needs to be done in order to fix things, she's made a big effort and so have I, the blaming has stopped, the arguments have stopped and the relationship is going really well. I'd like to thank you guys yet again for your support in this thread, it really has been amazing.
  20. I had a huge post written out on here then pressed backspace on the keyboard by mistake and deleted it before posting! Can't be bothered to attempt to write the entire thing out again so I'll cut to the chase. We are back together
  21. Scary and sad times! Maybe I'm being overly paranoid but I feel genuinely unsafe traveling to and from work at the minute. I take the train from Newcastle to Birmingham new street every Monday at peek times and the reverse Journey on the Friday. It's not just me feeling this way though, it's obvious, the paranoia can be saw and felt in the stations and on the train itself, it's a horrible feeling. Can't help but feel like a complete sitting duck. Unarmed and completely helpless if anything was to happen. In my opinion it's only a matter of time before we see vigilantly groups and the general public arming themselves if these attacks don't subside. Edit - There's consistently three Armed police officers in the Birmingham station, Newcastle has two unarmed coppers with radios at the entrance. Can't help but laugh to myself quietly and wonder WTF they are supposed to do in the event of anything kicking off. Surely a bigger armed police presence would be a step forward in deterring the more low level attacks.
  22. I'm starting to learn it's luck of the draw with the ST/RS. Thanks mad dog but John who does mine is also a well respected guy within the ford scene and he's on my doorstep, he's built a good few cover cars over the year and knows these cars inside out too. Thankfully I'm making good money here at the minute so when I get home I'll be getting the block mod and CP340 tune along with all new pipes, better injectors etc. John showed me a CP340 ST with 130k on the clock not long ago and the owner has beat the life out of it with no problems for years. Hopefully I'll have no more issues after this. Haven't really considered what to do if the engine is buggered. Bit of a no win either way, either sell up and loose money on the car and still have outstanding finance on it or replace/ build motor and spend upwards of 3k.
  23. Thanks Dan! God I've been a right misery on here recently I do apologize I've spoke to The bloke who does the work for me and he's pretty sure it's not as bad as what I think given that I've not lost coolant etc. Fingers crossed.
  24. Starting to loose patience now. Cars off the road again! I sorted the original misfire issue but yesterday I get another misfire, this time lower down in the rev's and before boost even kicks in. This time the car's dropped a cylinder and is running on 4. Back to worrying about liners again! Still not loosing coolant and not got any smoke pouring out the back so I'm hopeful it's a plug/coil issue. Back working at the opposite end of the country for the next two weeks so can't even arrange to get it looked at until I get home, not the nicest thing to have hanging over me while working away. If anything else goes wrong after this I'll be selling up by the look's of it, I need a fast reliable daily, not a car that's constantly needing fettled with. Thinking about buying something new to avoid all this carry on. Only car's that really interest me are the FK2 Type R and the Focus RS.....
