  1. At 28 I'm probably about the average age... At least I'd think so anyway.
  2. My bad, somehow managed to miss the parkers link when I searched, all I found originally was the American stats hence me posting on here. Delete this thread if you can mods!
  3. Can anyone link me to something that shows the UK car stats, 0 to 60 and 100 times, weight, BHP etc. Everything I bring up seems to be for the american version. I'm just counting down the days now till I pick up my first Z, pretty excited!
  4. Get more pics up!!! What year is it? Looks clean, can't see any stone chips!!!
  5. Thats crazy. You are keeping your cool a lot better than I would do in this situation.
  6. I work for an insurance broker and our underwriters couldn't give a monkeys about home insurance etc.... It's more to do with wanting to know if you have been untruthful in the past on a policy or not kept up to date with instalments and had a policy canceled as a result. I admire your honesty tho.
  7. Thanks, The lad I just spoke to from Falcon says he is a member on here. He seemed like a decent bloke, quite chatty, he owns a Z too. Does anyone know if the number plate on the Z is the standard size? Hope I've ordered the right one haha. Was a bit exited when doing it.
  8. haha! It's already begun. I'm shopping for mods online now and I haven't even picked it up yet! I've already bought a polishing machine and loads of cleaning goodies and I'm getting it booked in with Falcon performance for a once over! Oh and I've ordered a new reg plate as the current one is looking taty. I'll be looking to get a full exhaust system as soon as I can free up some cash, I also want some bride seats. Looks wise I want to keep it as standard as possible. As I get older I'm starting to go off jap style modding (body kits, carbon bonnets etc). I'm going to go for a very clean OEM look, maybe get it lowered, furb the wheels in the original colour and leave it at that. Or atleast thats the plan at the minute anyway!
  9. Quick update lads...... The first car is now mine! Got it for 5,800 but the car is getting the paint and the rear panel sorted too. I could have probably haggled a little further but to be honest I think I've got it for a fair price and I didn't want to take the ****. He gave me the keys before the sale and let me take it out on my own for a good run. I've seen loads of threads with people complaining about the speed of these cars, saying they feel heavy and slow..... What a load of crap. This thing feels FAR quicker than my ep3 type r. Nearly put it through the wall of the dealers car park when I first drove out.... was not expecting THAT much low end torque haha! Clutch feels fine, no slipping in high gears or anything, he seemed unsure if it was on the first clutch or not. I'm going to keep putting a little money aside for a safety blanket incase it gives in, I'm sure my warranty won't be worth the paper its written on anyway. All the millage checks out, HPI check clear, full years MOT and it's getting a service before I pick it up on saturday. Seems good so far but I have really bad luck with cars so I expect something to break within a few month. As long as the engine is sound thats the main thing. Can't wait to have this sat on my drive, sounds sad but I'm looking forward to spending the full weekend cleaning it and making it my own. Has anyone heard of falcon performance? I've heard they are a 350z specialist and they are based not too far from me, I will be taking it up their for the guys to have a good look over it for me. In the mean time
  10. Thanks mate but It's a little more than I want to spend to be honest. Lush car tho!
  11. Just found some reviews of the garage that has this Z online and they are all bad. One even mentions the salesman I am dealing with by name. Massively off putting. I'm in a massive hurry to get a car tho so I don't have much choice. This one is the next closest too me and it''s 100 mile away. Not keen on the plastidip or the wheel colour but it looks clean and it a little newer. I could always get the train down and buy it on the spot if I liked it. I only have one day off, so need to work out which car I'm going to go for http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201306107213645/sort/default/usedcars/model/350_z/make/nissan/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/page/7/radius/1500/postcode/ne126gd?logcode=p
  12. I was planning on changing the seats... gotta be honest its not going to be a priority now after seeing them, i thought they looked fine, comfortable too. Not bothered about cruise control either... The head unit is crap but Im not going to let that put me off buying. If it's still on the original clutch how long can I expect to get out of it, providing the car hasn't been ragged about like mad? I don't fancy a huge bill one month into ownership. Just noticed the rear lights don't match, is this normal? It was missing the cover on the little light on the side of the car near the front arch too. All in all it needs a little work but I quite like the idea of doing it up anyway. Cars got shed loads of character.
  13. Cheers. I'm going to see if they will get the paint sorted for me. I don't mind paying for the wheels myself to be honest, when comparing similar age and mileage cars I think the price already reflects the work that needs done to an extent. Gotta say tho, Im glad I went to test one of these. That V6 sounds amazing and makes the s2000 feel a bit weedy in comparison! It's fair to say I'm pretty exited right now.
  14. Quick update guys.... I went to check the car over quickly before work today. Man these cars look nice in the flesh. The paint has seen better days tho, lots of stone chips on the bonnet and scratches and paint touch ups here and their. How much should I be looking to knock off the price if they won't sort it for me? The wheels need furbed too. Mechanically everything felt sound when I took it for a quick spin. My dad seems to think the cam belt will be due a replacement if it hasn't already been done... is this right or are these chain driven?
  15. Yea man, I'm not bothered about the stereo or cruise control to be honest. I actually quite like the wheels that come stock too, just seen one done with em refurbed in black and they looked sick! (in a good way). I'm going to get up early tommorow and check it out before work, I really need a test drive so I can see if it's for me or not. I don't expect it to be as fun as the s2000 for spirited driving but as long as it's good for a little blast when the conditions are right I'd be quite happy. So tommorow I'm checking the Clutch and the service history to see if its had the big one at 55k.... anything else other than the usual?
  16. I'm yet to drive the Z so thats the first thing on my to do list. The main thing thats grabbing my attention about this 350z at the minute is purely how close it is too me and that it's well priced. I'm currently getting the bus to work and it's a complete nightmare... the thought that I could just roll up to this garage and pick this Z up within the next few days is very appealing. It means not needing time off work to travel halfway across the country to view an s2000, I'd be in a much better position to wait and pick the perfect car if my current daily driver hadn't just died. All this coupled with the fact that the Z is much cheaper is swaying me at the minute. Guess I'll have to see how I feel once I've drove one. Hopefully it will make the decision much easier.
  17. Wow, 300bhp! Not bad gains considering everyone says these cars are not great for tuning. With regards to the GT thing.... I'd be looking to remove the seats for some decent buckets anyway... do the breathing mods, new wheels and enjoy. I could do most of this on the budget I have anyway, if I buy an s2000 I will have little left over after the hefty insurance premium. Must be honest I did fall in love with the s2000 on a test drive but I couldn't help but feel like it was a bit to impractical and expensive. The Z is certainly not a bad compromise.
  18. My dad was not "nowhereman" haha. I took the name from the film about john lennon.... Anyway, back on track. It's not a GT but as far as I can see their are not many differences anyway? Well, other than the wheels which I'd be changing asap regardless. The guy I spoke to today said they would get it repaired before the sale, no problems. My main gripe is I'm worried it's going to feel a bit flat compared to the s2000 but for the difference in price and insurance I think it might be worth while. I think the Z looks nicer too. Will a straight thru exhaust, induction and a map spring a bit more life and throttle response to this car? If anyone is near newcastle and fancies taking me for a spin in one I'd be over the moon
  19. Hey! First post guys. Just spent about 15 minutes writing a detailed thread about my situation and how I'm torn between an s2000 or a 350Z then pressed the "cancel" button by mistake, stupid place to put that!!!! Anyway, to cut a long story short because I can't be arsed to type that again, what do you guys think of this 350z? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201306117229147/sort/default/usedcars/model/350_z/make/nissan/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/page/2/radius/1500/quicksearch/true/postcode/ne126gd?logcode=p Looks well priced to me?
