Something thats designed to have a turbo/supercharger is fine if its kept within its limits, very different to something built as a na. Or a big V8 if you just want power, Monaro perhaps? Supra is a good call if you want to tinker, forged from the factory.

No idea I am afraid, but I can feel pretty confident in saying equally as reliable as a na 370z which has been put to forced induction and tuned to an inch of its life. If you read back through this thread and remembering others you posted all I can come to the conclusion is your 350 was a massive pain in the ass and stressful for you, why you want those possibilities is beyond me, so if your going down the road, make sure the budget suits so you dont end up in the same boat.

I cant honestly imagine you enjoyed your 350z experience and no offence intended, do you really want to go down that road again, a car you loose huge sums of money on and never drive or finish, dont get me wrong ive been there and done that ish. This is why i said flywheel, exactly the same as my first 350, a few revs and it was fine but if you tried to pull away slowly and smoothly it was hideous.

Flywheel would be my bet, had this on my first 350, the clutch was done but they scrimped on doing the flywheel. If you give it a few revs does it still do it?

Agreed it was a good episode, shame they dont do a few more like that. I am not so sure there is, i would say the Cayman is the only competition (4C not being produced anymore) there may well be a few cars at that price point but they are very different to this and the Cayman, its got its work cut out taking on a Cayman as the benchmark, but why not, a different approach to get the same result, lighter and less powerful and obviously its worked if it can knock out similar lap times, whilst it may not be as polished its doing the job, even Porsche fanboi Chris Harris says not being a Porsche is a good thing about the 4c so presume he would follow suit on this Shame the looks dont work for me either i cannot disagree on that.

Watched the latest episode of the grand tour at a mates yesterday evening and they (James May) had one out on the track, he liked it so much he bought one, not that is any recommendation of course and it was within a couple of tenths off a Cayman S & M4 GTS around the Eboladrome and only a couple of secs of the GTR for reference, shows how much everything has moved on since the GTR came out ten years ago.

Also used Mtech on my 350z, road and track, cant say i noticed any difference between them and dba's that i used previously, the only thing i cant comment on was lifespan.

Try the specialists that advertise on here, you will almost certainly get a better quote from them than comparison sites.

Get in touch with a local Partco, they have plenty of good deals on brakes, i really wouldnt bother with dba's etc if your not driving hard or on track.

Pretty much anything high end, r8, gtr, aston, maserati is going to be right at the bottom of the market for your budget and going to be costly on parts, even if labour is free from the old man and i have to be honest if a category write off R8 is the only R8 in budget, i wouldnt want my hard earned going anywhere near it, likely to be a complete money pit and a pig to sell at a later date. Lotus Elise will be the cheapest to run from the list. The Mustang is a good shout though, ticks all the boxes, relatively new model so unlikely to have loads of miles and worn out parts,

Well there you have it, some form of Brexit is happening, probably, so we will never know if Nissan would have come to the decision without the uncertainty of Brexit and the other factors have been the major contributors to their decision, personally I cant see why waiting a few weeks to see if we end up with a deal makes much difference, hence why I think the other factors mentioned have made their minds up for them, irrelevant of Brexit, Nissan say they also sell scratch proof paint, do you believe that too Of course its not a good thing, but its not a bad thing either, status quo is resumed and no job losses and until all these business start deserting the place like a sinking ship, I shall remain upbeat.

Absolutely wont disagree it may have been "one" of the factors, however, we still have Nissan in Sunderland and no job losses Business is all about profit not risk, they have a production line in Japan already, diesels are on the out and they have just agreed a trade deal with the EU, i dont blame them at all, makes perfect business sense to me. I think your going to have to extend your budget to get a decent Aston and as Doc says, they are very much more GT than sports, a friend had one and it sounded awesome and a nice drive but really not suited to darting round the forest. I had the Evoras on the radar too, but imho to get a good model your looking at £40k plus, the early ones in your budget werent that highly rated, have a good read first and obviously a test drive. Nothing wrong with not liking Porsches, i am the same, if you dont like em, you dont like em simple, plenty of choice besides, maybe not as good but the world would be a boring place if we all drove the same cars and seems you have a few options. Get out and drive a few of the options, it will probably soon become apparent which you like most and even try a Porsche, it might get you hooked.
