  1. If anyone needs a hotel drop me a PM got a room booked at a travel lodge near by with a few other zeds. But didn't realise my mrs had booked a hotel too. Neither could be cancelled. So if anyone is looking at staying, you'll be doing me a favour taking it off my hands It's Friday- Saturday one night. And will be a handful of other zeds there too #teamtarmac
  2. I wouldn't risk it, just turn up at the planned time and either wait at the gate or hope for the best Traffic way to dangerous to judge.
  3. My point is, the guy in video is giving prices...but these prices could be direct dealer prices, OEM prices etc. As I say, Zed maintenance is expensive if you used OEM replacement parts. To say the running cost is expensive, you'd need to know where the data is coming from first.
  4. Depends where you get your prices from... Running cost of a Zed could be ridiculous if you took it to a main dealer...
  5. Only the police have access to who has been on awareness courses and this information is held on the police computer. As I understand it, a roadside check by the Police will not show up a speed awareness course, presumably this will only show up on a secure terminal...at least that's what I've heard. Pete And even then it's not just one database, as it's different for each county i.e. You get caught in one county, you do the course (You then can't do it again for 5 years I think) But if you get caught in another county, you can go on the course again. So I've been told as it happened to a friend.
  6. Willet was 15 - He dropped out, Hayden filled in that gap
  7. You're just paying a for a brand... At the end of the day, it's all just metal pipe work. Granted £1500/£2000+ you will get lighter material, and tweaks...but still its just metal pipe work. My custom exhaust inc - 2 Decates, Y pipe, mid pipe, back box - Was around £500/£600 - (Although should of been £800) Reason for me going custom? Because I figured everyones going to have the same exhaust etc, wanted something sounding different.
  8. Looking at Bleeding out my clutch fluid today as mine had gone the same colour as yours Any tips? Did you use a syringe to get 90% of the fluid out the engine bay fluid bottle? And what did you use on the bleed nipple to bleed out the fluid, i,e did you use a specific size pipe?
  9. Not worth it for a 15 Year old speaker. Probably pick up a 2nd hand one cheaper.
  10. Cheers for the comments guys! Had a look today, coming up nice and smooth It's a really good finish for a DIY job, but only issue with doing it your self is you do have errors, could of flakes of dust etc got, which isn't an issue for me. As the main reason for this was to get it down for Japfest/Siege, and then take it to a body shop to sort the bumper and wings out, as they couldn't promise they'd finish it before the weekend.] But really happy with the result, just a couple more days to settle then I can buffer out some Lacquer runs. Only thing that bugs me is I should of changed where the black finishes. It seemed like a good idea to have the body colour in the crease, however I'd now wish I filed that with black. Hey ho, I;m still happy Another Parcel arrived from America today And time to get new rear tyres.
  11. I went custom, first mod I did. No problem - Reason for custom is, you get a perfect fitment. Check out the first page in my build thread - I traveled to Birmingham to a place called MIJ Performance. Most Custom places, you can give them an Idea of the sound you want so they can decide of silencers etc.
  12. Think we all know I'm not one to give up on any of my ideas
  13. So, up bright and early to finish off where we left off! Plan was to let the black dry over night, to allow us to mask it off today to get the body colour on. Primer wasn't too much of a problem drying, but with the paint we wanted to make sure it was at the right temperature...so we brought this bad boy in! And my god the room got hot! So the black had settled down nicely, Just a few bits of over spray on the primer, nothing a bit of light sanding couldn't fix. Time to mask up and prep for the paint First coat goes on here's our genius contraption to get rid of some of the fumes Paint on Paint removed and time for a wash, to get rid of all the masking tape residue. Ready for Lacquer The shine! All lacquered up Ready to put back on, we loosened the headlights to allow the bumper to slide on without scraping the bumper And the finished product And she's home! Over the moon with it, it's come out better than expected, had a lot of doubters advising me not to do this The paint match is great, not exact, as A - it's plastic to metal B - Bodywork paint is 13 years old By all means there are a few imperfections in it, i.e. a couple of bits of dust got caught in there - but this is the price you pay when working at home. Just got to wait a few days to buffer it up All in all, cost me £90 for materials, and a Dominoes Family feast for my friends family Hopefully one more mod will arrive before Japfest. But my car is now finally at the stage I always wanted it. Most mods achieved, and now to mainly just spend money on fixing things up - I.e. first on my list is to get my arches sorted. Thanks for reading gang.
  14. Nigess stay.... I need a novice as well I always get taken to task by the chaps but they are also a great help, yes ok Grundy gets a little excited only because he is super keen like most of us are Literally no idea what you just said, but okay I'm not the hero this forum deserves, But the hero this forum needs.
  15. Sooooo, long ass day! Lesson to be learnt today....I am not allowed to touch filler! as you will see. Basically took 2 hours longer today due to sanding Anyway, filler aside, the bumper is coming along nicely. All we have left to do, is spray the bumper ginge and lacquer. So much prep gone into the bumper, lovely and smooth So fingers crossed the finish should be good.... 2 Hours later the filler is sanded down level again! As I said, I'm never going near it again Although was my first time using it All washed up ready for the primer Ignore the light That was a temp method to get the primer settled quick enough to start work on the grill, we have a proper furnace for the paint tomorrow. Time for wet and dry to get a smooth surface on the primer Masked up ready to start the grill And that is all, until tomorrow Oh and now she needs a clean...
  16. Think you missed the idea of this thread He's looking for a cheap dedicated track car to tinker with by the looks of it.
  17. Couldn't find a Bodyshop to get it sprayed in time for Japfest/Siege So we're spraying it our selves this weekend Got a Spray gun/Furnace/Garage lined up. Plan is to spray it, then after the shows (Depending on the spray job) Take it to a body shop to get it resprayed along with the arches sorted.
  18. Sold, sorry guys, really didn't expect this to be that popular.
