  1. Eat the SIM, it's the only way to be sure.
  2. Could you not go down the "not roadworthy" route and demand rectification?
  3. Probably best to pay the excess waiver for short term snow driving applications...
  4. I was very close to stumping up for winter tyres, but given the cost I'm thinking either a 4wd banger for if it gets fully arctic (e.g. weeksof snow forecast) or just getting a rental if it's for a few days. I find rentals handle best of all cars in snow
  5. Nice job, looks shiny. Which DA did you go for?
  6. Nice looking Zed, extremely nice wheels too.
  7. There's loads of these where I am currently working, great to use when I fancy getting off my arse and giving my lower back a rest from my bad posture. All desk workers should be allowed them by law. Just make sure all your cables are not fouled on anything. No one likes to see a 27" monitor tumbling off their desk in that slow motion way that expensive things fall!
  8. I daren't put the numbers down in excel, I think of it in terms of disposable income at any single point in time. Otherwise I'd probably struggle to sleep at night, fortunately I feel like I'm reaching the end of that journey. Always remember though, anything that makes you smile, free or otherwise, is a win!
  9. Nice setup, nice install. Surely insane not to put some dynamat or similar in? Mine's lined with the stuff and a fairly lower key sub which is dialled right back and it still makes the plastics resonate like crazy! Each to their own I suppose. I'm sure customer will be made up with the leap forward over OEM.
  10. Congratulations mate. I remember that feeling on the first big drive, cos I feel like that every time I drive her! Enjoy.
  11. I found the "it was as promised" reviews quite helpful when I signed up, as I was pretty paranoid about sending not insignificant amounts to Users who might only exist in a forum. I've since learned that this place is pretty well policed by the members in that respect so I had nothing to fear, but it was nice for an early confidence build. The bit I like to try and get across in a praise is not so much when something has just arrived as promised, but when the trader has put up with my daft learner questions, which they've heard a millon times before, but they have still come across as genuine and helpful. You can tell by their wording if someone just wants you to get buying and shut up, or is happy to help. So far I've had faster and more friendly responses to enquiries here than in places like amazon, and shockingly in plenty of real shops (take note Travel Agents!). Perhaps this is because the traders on forums are their business, but in many "real" shops the customer facing staff aren't neccessarily bothered what impression you take away from an experience.
  12. I think it depends on who the buyer and seller are. When I bought my Zed I didn't know much about them and I wanted to see some stamps in there and a decent brand tyre type etc etc, I didn't know the seller at all so this gave me a little more confidence. Having seen how capable a lot of zed owners are on here, if I was buying one with a build thread and was familiar with the sort of posts the owner had made, then self-service might not put me off at all, but I would expect to pay less, as your going to get less on the back end.
  13. Yeah and because they've got the blue stripe value range...
  14. Only work with lights on.... ....after I've washed and waxed her, then they spray all over the bonnet, bumper, roof, rear window. Everywhere except the headlamps!
  15. Cheers fellas, I'll try and talk some sense into him.
  16. Well I'm leaving the sub prime mortgage market in 3 months or less now! Sounds like the same @*!#, different year! You'll sleep better at night, it's no fun taking someone's bonus when wages are low and bonuses high. It's impossible to motivate people on shifting sands, I've been on both sides of that conversation. Good luck.
  17. Gutsy move, nice to see a principled stance in the face of the almighty dollar (albeit with no idea what that principle might be!) hope a new job finds you shortly. You rarely take a pay cut in a new job anyway. I felt a bit like that when I left the sub prime mortgage market to spend a year in South America. I'm a big believer in good work finding you, if you've got the right ethic.
  18. Mine too. It's a sign your tunes aren't turned up loud enough. The Zed is the only car I've driven where you want the headunit volume to auto adjust inversely with engine revs. It should be really loud at idle and silent when you floor it!
  19. Two sweater coupe in small-boot-rubbish-rear-visibility-makes-a-noise-at-high-revs shocker. The sneering 'special' before brake fluid tells you everything you need to know about the reviewer.
  20. I have a mate who insists on dividing his maintenance costs between stealers and Halfords. They've had a fortune off him to maintain his civic of late (think it's a Friday afternoon model averaging over £2k p.a.!) and I keep urging him to find a decent Jap/Honda/Civic indie garage. Can anyone who knows these parts of the world recommend anyone good? I don't know the area that well (I think it's somewhere south of Derby!) and I know even less about Hondas. Thanks anyone who can help.
  21. Not sure if this is one tiny meant but it has detail. Might need to hunt through the thread pages though as the key detail is spread around. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/67735-flip-key-nearly-sorted/
  22. I keep considering an ebay flip key, but I get the fear of the top notch metal snapping off and leaving a nice chunk in the ignition.
  23. Thrown in a couple of other goodies too, the box was rattling with just the wax in there
  24. Nice job, they look quality. She could do with a wash mind!
