  1. Yep, I don't think they are crashy, and I didn't say that, maybe someone else did? I'm going for the b6's, I'll report on them soon.
  2. These are the 'official' MP's: LP2 Midnight Purple LV4 Midnight Purple 2 LX0 Midnight Purple 3 More subtle, the better (imho), so I think the darker one out of those will look fantastic.
  3. hahaha, yes I've certainly thought that before. Well I'll give this one a go, not far from me.
  4. Hey guys, I'm thinking of possibly using something like: http://www.pitstartgarage.com Just to do a few bits (suspension swap initially), as I think it'll be easier to work on the car whilst it's on a ramp rather than axle stands. Has anyone used them or someone similar ?
  5. Ordered some Tein Springs on Sun night! Ewen was kind enough to reply and sort out my order, it arrived promptly and safely this morning Thanks so much once again !!!
  6. I'm certainly 'all ears' (or eyes in this case), and for me I don't want the pain of setting up coilovers at the moment, so this certainly isnt a VS thread. I'm only interested in doing a few mild things to my car in order to enjoy the use I have for it, which is largely just some b-road fun. On the chassis side of things, some poly bushes, springs, shocks and if needed arb's. The last time I had coilovers it started going down a rabbit hole of change this, change that - etc etc (more so than the above ) As another friend has said, 'there are no trophies for track days', nor in this case having a bit of fun down a b-road.
  7. Unfortunately I've no idea on what you've done to your car/s etc Perhaps it would make sense to list up the combinations of parts you've tried, and the other important factor here is the budget !
  8. Well, kind of as you've said yourself there, without experiencing the car going from one kit to another, it's not really possible to say if X is 'better' than Y. And almost pointless testing one persons car as some parts will be worn/not the same, of course approximately similar to a degree. I certainly don't doubt the build quality these days of various coilovers, and ultimately if the B6's aren't quite what I'm personally looking for, I'll have to pop them up for sale and try something else. (Zeta R are the initial choice I'd go to)
  9. Mcjeepers ! First reply by Gabriele made my laugh properly
  10. Just thought I'd say that I've decided to purchase the B6's (matched with Tein S springs), for my set up, which will be 'fast road' with barely any track days. From looking at other forums and the official FAQ, it seems like those springs with the B6's will be fine, as I'm not looking to go any lower than the Tein's and I can't be bothered with the set-up of coilovers. Only one guy seemed to complain about 'Eibach Pro' progressive springs and the Bilsteins but changed them for some other springs and was happy. I'm also doing a fair few of the bushings, as well as some other bits in time, perhaps I'll start a thread as I'm sure it may be of some use? (from Bilstein FAQ) In regards to the B6's specifically: 'Down to which lowering level can I go with BILSTEIN B6 sports shock absorbers (not shortened) in conjunction with shorter springs?' Down to 30mm. That is what is typically offered for new vehicles straight from the factory. Any lower and a shock absorber with a shortened stroke has to be fitted, so that the spring tension - which ensures the required distance between the car body and the wheel - is maintained, whatever the driving situation. Otherwise the spring may slip out of its fitting and the vehicle will abruptly go out of control. In regards to the B8's specifically: 'Down to which lowering level can the BILSTEIN B8 Sprint shock absorber be fitted?' Down to 50mm. The ideal depth for driving dynamics is however between 30mm and 40mm; any lower and the driving performance becomes poorer again, unless a major adjustment of the entire vehicle is carried out.
  11. Midnight Purple (a true Nissan colour) would look good imho, darker the better though.
  12. add350z: Try using the search next time mate
  13. I've just placed an order with Clark Motorsport for Tein S (recommend to do that via PM)

    MPSS and snow

Yeah I didn't like my mpss in the snow, certainly had plenty of bum waggling moments (car not me) when it's like that. The worst is of course ice, not much we can do about that though.
  15. Many thanks, I've just sent a PM over, so hopefully you'll get that My intentions would be to do cams/valves/manifold/new rocker covers hah/re-map again (Bennett I'll be in touch! ). Although at the moment, I'm concentrating on the chassis, doing piece by piece when I can.
  16. Ah cheers for that. I still want to do cams/valves at some point (distant future).
  17. Well I tried... Then gave up 😢 At the front, 3 of the 4 bolts that hold the bracket in place were fine but the 4th one has an extra long thread. So I couldn't get the socket over it. I do have a 'crows foot' set but not very good fitment unfortunately. Oh, plus I saw I have a screw sticking into the front side of one of my tyres, so I got angry and thought I'll bloody just break something. (one of those, everything going wrong days). Poo
  18. £130k ish for the v10+ The one they had in Evo as a long termer, decent spec, MANUAL - dropped £40k in 10 months on depreciation C7 Z06 is tempting ! (even the 'normal' Stingray is) OR 2015 Dodge Viper SRT TA 2.0
  19. Unfortunately, I have to agree as well. Like the original, they've buggered themselves with the price a bit. It should be coming in around £70-80k. £120k, and it should have included the proposed V10. Pricing is angled at GT3 money, so it had bloody better feel amazing and kick the GT3's butt ! I'd rather have the original R, and several other cars.
  20. Cheers mate, much appreciated ! I just had some odds n sods to do on it, and thought these are the only ones I can fit without a bearing press I'll get a post up regarding all of the other bits and pieces I'll (Sly) be doing I'm just ordering some PENETRATING FLUID
  21. I'll probably end up popping this on the list for Sly to do but I just wondered, when fitting uprated bushes to the ARB, will I need to disconnect the droplink ends ? (I'm guessing I'll have to) As my replacement poly bushes have cuts in them to go over the bar, rather than be slid down it into position (if that makes sense). Cheers
  22. Probably offended 80% of the forum Don't worry I'm with you. Each to their own and all of that malarkey. The only thing, if the interior is scratched to buggery, what can you do - spray it ?
