  1. Oh, my one is merely a shopping list at the moment hah. (aside from the usual bolt ons). I'm not intending to pull it until next winter but similar intensions (long tubes, cam's, valves etc). And just general inspection, sort out any issues or some preventative work. I won't be able to buy tons of stuff due to funds but I'll be getting my hands dirty with it at least.
  2. Sounds like it's from the cabin, not the engine bay - it's got high frequencies audible which would have been cut if going through the firewall to the cabin (imho). Search the cabin first. My gear shift gator does this similar sound (not stock) as the short shifter shaft is touching the inside of it. And because I have poly bushing on the gearbox mount it's even worse Empty the cabin, including the cubby boxes, ensure NOTHING is there and methodically search.
  3. The last set imho. The first one isn't for this kind of car, looks horrible
  4. Sound like you're a bit further down the road to me but ultimately very similar too
  5. Worth looking to see if the cats are different or not. Typically with this car it makes a bit more sense to have it mapped after changes to the breathing of it, so it's fueling properly and that you actually make use of any extra ponies from the parts. I clear the light though otherwise you don't know if another error pops up.
  6. Happens to nearly everyone, especially those that have different exhausts, do you have a non standard one? It'll happen more in the colder months, just use the obd2 thing and clear it.
  7. I get about 8k from my MPSS. If you are getting 16k from tyres - quit complaining !
  8. Well I tried out a couple of different lids that my friend had sitting around, and one of them is shorter in height ! So I just have to recline slightly and all seems ok-ish for now. The only thing it's one of those cheapy Leopard lids, about £30 on ebay Ideally I'd rather get one for cars as they can take multiple impacts iirc.
  9. I 100% agree, even if you or I don't believe it's sacred ground, it was treated as such for many many years and should be kept that way.
  10. So this is what I went for: thicker (4mm) perforated sides nappa top/bottom orange stitching The price would be: 115GBP + 15GBP fitting It's worth sending an enquiry to him, prices may have changed now as that was about 2 ago. It's really worth doing
  11. Here is the coil pack spark test: Note - on Cylinder 2, it looks like there isn't a spark for a while but I'm sure I saw it with my eyes, just not on camera. Easy enough to try again though.
  12. It might work but I've no idea's on the dimensions for it, they'll be on the forums somewhere probably. This is how my one came out, and I'm still really chuffed with it
  13. Yup, I'm gonna say it.. Nice arse. On the car of course Nice to see the rare yellow Z, I don't think I've spotted one before. Before ordering a steering wheel, have a look here first, he did my one and I love it ! http://royalsteeringwheels.com/
  14. Arrrrrrrrgh I was hoping today would give me a clue! I put the original cam sensors back on, no hard hot starts now, so yep off they go for a refund. I did a smoke leak test, the can of smoke didn't work for me as it shoots out very cold if it's going into a hose. If you have a big opening to spray it into first before pressurising it, then it'll work. I just did it the same way the guys did in the above video. The smoke only came out of the intake. Next I tried my coil pack spark tester, tonight I'll upload a video of them so you can see what it does. They all seemed to be the same, slightly pink/blue spark. Next I tried a new maf, and no change yet although I haven't driven properly yet. I'll chat to Jez at Horsham Developments on Monday. Just to clarify, no lack of power or hesitation.
  15. My one hasn't done it this last week but then again I had the injectors out last weekend, so everything is back on tight again. (actually they've been in and out a few times the last 3 weeks )
  16. It sounds like he just doesn't want to work on it (for whatever reason) Sly at Kaizer Motor Company is probably closest to you (near Rochester) another trusted garage and forum affiliate http://www.kaizermotor.co.uk
  17. I've been initially advised to use Glasscoat due to the paper thin soft paint on my one: http://www.polishangel.co.uk/products/glasscoat-cosmic I'll have a respray in the future and likely to go ppf on the front+doors, with ceramic on the other parts.
  18. Actually I've had a similar-ish sound when it's been very cold recently. I've no idea what it is either and it's been random not consistent.
  19. Just for planning sake now, would 9.5" be ok without having to roll arches ?
  20. My wheel from Royal is awesome, very, very tidy stitching and good materials, plus they can do anything you want within reason. I had the thickest foam option (4mm iirc). Anyway, just my 2p on it.
  21. Less heat soak I imagine. (warm air going into the engine isn't ideal, thus keep temps down)
  22. Get a plenum spacer on it too before you have it mapped, might as well.
  23. I'll just plastidip them again, my ones still good after 18+ months now
