  1. Would you include postage for the £50 as a trip to London is a bit too far for where I'm at?
  2. At tickover it sounds pretty much like standard but has a deeper rumble. It also sounds pretty quiet all the way up the rev range. Its by no means obtrusive, even at motorway speeds and has already been mentioned they have a lovely pop and bang on over run.
  3. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase.
  4. You can also prevent or unfreeze your locks by using a product in a small bottle which carries some sort of deicer, it also has a long thin delivery tube and is called "Lock Deicer". I bought mine years ago and its still going strong and i would imagine at today's prices would cost you @ £5-50
  5. If you're going for an import then make sure its been undersealed as the JDM cars just come with paint and no protection. which could cost you in the future.
  6. As per headphones, just make sure you don't use water that is too hot or you'll be looking for replacement glass.
  7. Hey Chris, welcome to the forum. I guess you're getting the idea now that you could do with upping your budget by a grand or two. There is plenty of information on this forum that is well worth reading and you may be lucky enough if you ask nicely to have a member who is fairly local to you or to the car you wish to view go along as a spare pair of eyes for you. Happy hunting.
  8. Hey Luke, welcome to the forum and all the best in your hunt for a quality Zed.
  9. www.royalsteeringwheels.com Jack has done quite a few forum members wheels and the cost of a basic recover is @ £135.
  10. Check out Demon Tweeks, they have quite a variety, from your basic start button to a plate with Acc 1, Acc2 switches plus start button to the full aerospace flip covers jobbie
  11. I have a pair and they definitely add a bit of brightness to what is generally a funereal interior
  12. ELM327 links to Torque with no problem on my UK '04.
  13. Mine came on after i'd had a bottle of water rolling around in the passenger footwell and it must have dislodged a connection as i tried the reset but it didn't get rid of the light so i went through all of the connections of the spaghetti under the seat, tried the reset again and my light has stayed off ever since..
  14. No codes required, As Stuggerz says just retune your sounds and if you're a lazy sod like me set your clock to GMT
  15. I bought a Varta, it comes with a four year guarantee which is helpful and inspires confidence.
  16. Yes Torque Pro is the name of the app and some of the downloads require a small payment. You can also get Torque Lite in which all of the readings are free but you don't get oil pressure or temperature amongst others so the Torque Pro is the version you'll need.. It works on Android phones and I think iphones and you'll need an OBD2 reader (got mine for £8 on EBay).
  17. definitely sounds like its being starved of air which points to an air intake problem.
  18. Well that's novel, I've never seen anything like that before and I'm with SuperStu, Other than a trip to a decent Auto Electrician I wouldn't have a clue where to start.
  19. Hi Harry, welcome to the forum. As has already been mentioned, rear wheel arches tend to rust and this is due to road crud collecting in the inner lip, when wet it takes an age to dry out and accelerates the rust. Just run your fingers along the inner lip and if you can feel all of the lip then it's been taken care of. Ajay Panchal who designed the 350Z originally came from Leicester, the name of the guy who designed the DE, whose name escapes me engineered it to cover 200,000 miles with regular servicing and has been already mentioned there are are a few that have covered 230k +. Make sure there is history, service history, invoices, the more the better. Download the "vehicle Smart" app and it will tell you the MOT history, fails, advisories and mileage. That'll give you an idea if general maintenance has been carried out. Make sure (if possible) to find out if its been run on 98Ron or Shell V-Power as 95 ron fuel can do a fair bit of damage. I think Mark from Abbey Motorsport downloaded a thread of what 95ron can do to a DE engine. Read as much as you can on this forum as its full of do's and don'ts and general knowledge. If possible ask a knowledgeable forum member who is close to you or where the vehicle is that you're checking out and ask them to give it a once over with you. AS previously mentioned, the gearbox can be a bit agricultural and synchro's between 5th and 6th can fail and when cold changes from 1st to 2nd can be a bit stiff. Window motors fail, but brushes can be bought for a fiver and they're easy to fit, I fixed my passenger motor and its lasted nearly three years and is still going strong and its a damn sight cheaper fix than buying an OEM motor. I've had my Zed for just over four years and other than an exhaust, tyres and a battery a drivers side window motor (replaced under warranty) its been totally reliable and i still smile every time i climb into it. Happy hunting, i hope this helps.
  20. And used, what... 5ml? 10? Great product for IV protection but that's a lot of waste! Nearly as expensive as a coating too. Nearly! Also quite handy for varnishing my boat which i originally bought it for which surprisingly uses a fair bit more than 10ml
  21. I just love those wheels, just a shame that the colour limits the car they are fitted to unless you consider powder coating. GLWS.
  22. This seems to be a common problem with the Cobra. When i took my Zed in to have a Y pipe back system fitted, what was on the other ramp but another Zed with exactly the same problem getting his welded. I didn't have a chance to talk to the owner as he'd left the car with them and was picking it up after work. I'm presuming he bought his Zed with the Cobra fitted hence the repair and not using the guarantee
