  1. I'm 6ft4 and mine fits ok?! Can't say more without going out to check. Normal - yes it adjusts. The seat heaters are a bit pants really - better than nowt though. All Zed handbrakes are like that - just make sure you give it a good yank and park in gear if you have to leave it on a slope! DTE isn't too bad, varies based on driving style / conditions. An emergency tenner!
  2. It's a common feature of all Zeds. Most leave the air con on all the time as its also a de-humidifier, but even that's not enough in this weather really and we all end up doing exactly what you are already doing. Alternatively you could try sticking one of those chemical desiccant things in your car, might help soak up the moisture a bit more...
  3. Does anybody know anywhere that does windscreen chip repair on a Sunday? Ideally not a million miles away from Reading? Windscreen took a big stone on the motorway last night :-/
  4. Yep - just check out how much more popular the current 'nearly beaten by a VXR' and 'what league is the Zed in' threads are! It's all about oneupmanship... and really all that boils down to is money and willy-waggling... I just hope people don't get in to debt and ruin their lives pursuing it.
  5. You lot have some funny ideas about affordability! IMHO there's no one correct answer to this, but so long as your income exceeds your outgoings while maintaining the kind of lifestyle you're happy with, you can afford it. To counterpoint some of the examples on here about spending 50% of your monthly income on the Zed, me and Mrs Commander make just over 100k / year between us, and I drive a £9k HR and she's in a £500 fiesta... And that's all we can afford because things like Mortgage, Pensions, Holidays and riding horses also need to be paid for. This level of spending works for us but it's massively different for everybody. There is no absolute right or wrong... If we spent half our income on a car we couldn't maintain the rest of our lifestyle and Holidays / House / Horse riding would have to go as a result... And that's not what we want. The thing I always get on my high horse about is debt - I racked up a 12k student loan and a 14k credit card bill once upon a time as a single man renting a flat on my own. It took me about 7years of not having much fun to pay it all off and to this day I couldn't tell you what I spunked it all on. Please don't get yourself in to uncontrolled debts, especially on credit cards for mods, because its just not worth it... Always do the maths - Income VS Expenditure VS LifeStyle and future ambitions. Be realistic and honest with yourself and don't get sucked in to spending money you don't need or can't afford to spend.
  6. Ideally country pub style... We've done the likes of The Castle at Hurst and The Crooked Billet at Stoke Row... Any other nice places to go?
  7. Yeah, you've got to have and make use of opportunities to enjoy the Zed - it's crap when it's cold or when you're in traffic or on crap roads... I bought mine and then went on a 2700mile road trip around europe and the Alps two weeks later... Went with an M3, Elise and an RX8 and it shon brilliantly every day and on every kind of autobahn or twisty mountain pass I threw it at... Knowing what it's really capable of makes the boring Mon-Fri drive in traffic on crap roads much more bearable.
  8. I'd probably drop the M3 down a peg, or at least the E46 and older anyway... As for evos and subarus (etc.. and other 4WD turbos) I'd say they're a notch below the Zed on class and looks, but above the Zed in terms of sheer performance being able to set an aggressive time on a track.
  9. Pretty sure that just means it's a 'normal' plate - you can't sell it onwards but you can replace it with your own private plate if you want.
  10. Hah, well it's nearly time for a big service so thought I'd go the whole hog! Also bought an Oil Syringe and oil for the gearbox and diff... Should be a fun weekend next week! £15 on bulbs though - how?! LED Kit?
  11. Well, after yesterday's crash (http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/79867-car-crash/) and feeling as stiff as a plank today the 350z-uk traders have hit my pocket hard! After a bit of an online shopping splurge across Tarmac, H-Dev and Opie Oils, I just worked out my shopping trip has cost me more than the g/f's written-off car is about to cost the insurance company! Tarmac ERZ HFCs - I got the last set - they get good reviews in the US and at £150 cheaper than the Berks, well worth a punt. Opie Oils 1x Motul 8100 Eco-nergy 5W-30 Fuel Economy Petrol and Diesel fully synthetic engine oil -5 Litres 2x K&N High Flow Replacement Air Filter 33-2399 -single 1x Motul RBF 600 Factory Line racing brake fluid -3 x 500ml 1x K&N Performance Gold HP-1008 Oil Filter -single H-Dev Hel Brake Line Kit for Nissan Z33 350Z (Red) Nissan 350Z 3.5 (Brembo) 2003- Front EBC Yellowstuff brake pads - DP41644R Nissan 350Z 3.5 (Brembo) 2003- Rear EBC Yellowstuff brake pads - DP41537R 6x Denso Iridium FXE22HR-11 350Z spark plugs 2007+ VQ35HR engine Looking forward to getting it all fitted.... and then after that it's more money to H-Dev for an UpRev!
  12. Passenger in my g/f's 1996 fiesta today - rear ended by a 308 not paying attention in stop start traffic. Car's probably a write-off and we're both as stiff as a plank, but ultimately everybody walked away. Be careful on the greasy roads please!
  13. I bought a little Fuji X10 a few months ago - good little snapper as a 'bridge' camera, can do almost all the things you can on an SLR, but no swappable lenses.

    HR HFCs

Can anybody beat £404.70 for a set of new Berk HFCs, delivered? Tarmac is winning on the cost stakes by a country mile at the moment, but I'm always keen to find cheaper if I can! I'd consider second-hand ones too if they're in decent nick? Cheers.
  15. Yeah, my g/f is doing Dryathlon this Jan (shameless plug if you're feeling generous for a good cause - http://www.justgiving.com/Sarah-Fedorcio-dryathlete) so I'm joining in too.
  16. Chris, some detail here, lots of crap to sift through though - http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/173-nissan-350z/43845-weight-reduction-thread-28.html As discussed, better off getting e46 or s2k I reckon...
  17. Yeah, just saw this too... Hope he pulls through - genius driver - petrol heads the world over will have their fingers crossed for him I'm sure.
  18. Commander

    I'm stupid

It'll be fine - any oil is better than no oil - just swap it for proper stuff and worry not.
  19. +1 for the Synology NAS Drive - I've got a 211j with 2 x 2TB disks. It has never missed a beat and it's packed full of useful features
  20. Sorry, don't think we did - to be honest when you get in-country there are so many routes to drive and places to see its impossible to do it all on one visit.
  21. I got a low profile, high-lift Jack - been after one for ages - my crappy Halfords one has been on the way out for a while... Should mean I can finally use my axle stands on their highest setting!
