  1. Bugger, I was half expecting that answer to be fair... It won't let me lock the car when running and you can drive it 2+miles down the road without the key inside... Looks like I'm stuck
  2. OEM Bridgestones + less than 4mm tread + wet roads + TC off = spins up very easily & slides whenever you want it to In all seriousness, if you're alignment, pressures and what not are spot on it's probably the tires. My car had 2 new Bridgestones fitted before I picked it up 6 months ago, I've worn them down slowly and rears currently less than 4mm. They've got to be the worst performing tires I've used in the wet by far! Also, if you're coming from a VTEC, our 370's have much more torque, and much lower down the rev range too, isn't our peak torque around 3,000rpm or something?
  3. It's been cold here for a good while, but no frosts or snow... Yet. How can I leave the Zed running (to warm up on cold mornings) but also lock the car? In the past I'd set the turbo timer to longest setting, turn the car on then remove key & lock it, my Evo's Clifford Alarm has remote start which is handy but don't use it over winter, besides the engines out of it again Or if no turbo timer, use second key to lock the doors or something. I don't live in a rough area or anything, quiet village in Shropshire, nothings happened in the 6 years I've lived here tbh, I'm just paranoid!
  4. Hiya Got to agree with the black wheels, works very well indeed. Mine didn't come with reversing camera either, looked into getting one like yourself. Never bothered in the end and can't say I'm missing it tbh. p.s. How did you get insurance £300 cheaper than me!?
  5. I asked about that as I was offered 2 options also. It depends if you have the sat nav premium apparently, that requires 80 ish amp hours and non connect premiums like me only needed 65 ish amp hours. Your Nissan dealer should know which from your reg I would assume?
  6. This ^^^ Plus, don't forget there's the £1k cost for tires, £500 per year road tax, pricey P2 & P3 services as they get older. That's excluding any mods you're going to want doing on top too. No idea what mpg I get, never bothered looking in 6 months of ownership.
  7. No chance that's a Sparco Going by the pic posted by DedMan / AliveGirl (lol) it does seem a custom job. Matches the carbon (dipped?) passenger window controls too, nice touch anyhow
  8. Not really my cup of tea but still very impressive. Seems like a strange mix of the mad Time Attack aero combined with original Fast & Furious styling Anyone know what steering wheel is in there?
  9. Thats shocking! Equally shocking is how easy the owner seemed to take it, you'd at least fight for a like for like replacement at bare minimum wouldn't you?
  10. Mines on Eibach springs, 25mm lower at the front & 20mm lower at the rear. However that extra 5mm at the front does annoy me sometimes. If I was doing it again I would choose Swift springs this time, they seem to lower the car much more evenly. Done a write up on them in my thread in project section Spacers are 25mm all round however many have gone for 25mm front & 20mm rear, plenty of threads on here showing examples to have a nosey at & make your mind up
  11. lol, this is easily the nicest community & most friendly forum I've been on by far in all honesty. But it does lack a lot of Evo knowledge I often need
  12. The rear sensor are Black - First thing is to get my private plate sorted then try find the Exhaust that I want for it. But can't decide yet think I need to come along to a meet and hear some of the other exhausts people have got on. I am wanting a larger spoiler like the Nismo one but I am assuming that will cost a small fortune. I would be very tempted to get it lowered but I haven't looked into that yet and how it affects the handling. One of my original ideas was to make it Air ride but I am not sure if I can be bothered with that anymore. When it comes to Tuning I am sort of an impulse buyer if I see something that I like I just get it. What would you guys recommend? Is there some essential mods that are a must? Cheers That's interesting, I thought they were all colour coded... It's a very personal thing tuning. Out the box they're fantastic cars, just depends what you wish to change for yourself & usage of the car really. Intake noise, exhaust noise, power, ride-height, bodywork, handling... My car only has 3 mods & will stay that way for a very long time as I'm more than happy with it, springs, spacers & exhaust. It's usually a good idea to keep anything you take off the car for when you come to sell it though
  13. Wow you guys are organised! All the other forums I'm on haven't even started a thread for Japfest yet
  14. Sounds like a fairly common demand for aftermarket exhausts on our cars, something sensible. I was in exactly the same boat myself. I will echo comments about YouTube though, what you hear on there isn't a true perspective to real life but gives you a good idea none-the-less. Here's a good selection of sound clips to get you started if you've not found already: http://370zexhaust.com/
  15. Same age, colour & mileage mine was when I bought it, perfect choice mate What plans do you have for it? Are your rear parking sensors black or just dirty by the way?
  16. I had to double check he hadn't missed a 1 or 2 of the start of the price I was expecting at very least £100 as batteries that sort of size & power from Halfords with my trade discount are at that much. How I've been using the car recently wouldn't have helped, most of us are in winter mode / hibernation so the Zed isn't being used for any long drives. Mainly short <10 mile trips and I have seats on high, A/C at 30, music blearing & lights always on etc.
  17. Quick update on this. New battery bought & fitted this morning as I needed ASAP due to car struggling to start. Nissan themselves were actually the most reasonable; £48! Plus they keep them on the shelf for anyone that might need one in the future, beats Halfords by far
  18. '59 plate 370Z mate - It's in my signature I agree with you on Halfrauds, first time I've been in there for something other than cleaning products but thought they can't get it wrong surely. Reg in the computer & sell me the battery without them fitting it. Didn't go to plan! Tried Googling a bit, many sites don't actually list my car
  19. My car needs a new battery so I nipped over to Halfords at lunch to buy a new one, however their computer pointed us to an incorrect battery - about 2 inches to small in width & length and a suspiciously low 400 cold starting amps imo. Same story at EuroCarParts 10 minutes later. Does anyone know the battery code / spec of our cars? Can't see anything on the battery itself. I wouldn't think they're the same as a 350Z due to more electronics on it plus the 5 tonne flywheel or is it? Any help appreciated!
  20. Only just spotted this, my pic (#9) is really blurry
  21. Why do you want more power? General straight line speed on the roads, drag or my personal favourie; pub figures? I've owned boosted cars from 140bhp - 600+bhp and the power in our 370's is great IMO, suits the chassis very well too. If you drive them like a **** you can get TC lighting up at you (if you leave it on) in 3rd & 4th gear as it is. Do you have a power goal in mind before you start by the way, 400, 500, more?
  22. Nice motor Did you / do you plan to get the car on the dyno again after fitting the exhaust to see what gains it's given you?
