  1. Out of interest, does the intake sound change at all with those filters in? Any more of a grunt? I'm assuming any sound change, if any, would be minimal?
  2. Yes noticed more so after lowering (Eibach) the front is 5mm lower than rear though. Might just be the fact the car is lower so light angle hasn't changed but doesn't reach as far. The extra 5mm does annoy me, a set of Ohlins R&T are on the cards now though
  3. Surprised they didnt ask for a deposit! First 370 I asked about, phoned up and wanted to arrange a test drive (different one, more local) they wanted £500 off me just for that, only 2 days before wanting to view it too! Maybe they were abnormally 'pushy'..
  4. Having extensively modified many of my previous cars I'm still very happy with my 370z with minimal mods. I don't think it needs much more tbh. I've yet to see any bodykits that I even vaguely like, but as well know that sort of thing is personal preference! See a good few with lip kits pop up in my Facebook feed via various pages I've liked, might be somewhere to look first instead the full kit route maybe?
  5. Wow thats bad, shocking that they thought they could get away with it! Agree with you on buying cars, it can be very frustrating at times. Went to look at around 7 or 8 Evo's before buying one, all over the country, so much time & traveling wasted, was worth it in the end though. With my 370 (Purchased from Ashtons, a second hand dealer) I requested pictures of practically everything, a walk around video, photocopy of all paperwork & history. The guy I delt with was superb, honest and up front with everything, making my 4 hour train journey a worthwhile one (still bought return tickets, just in case!) Did you put a deposit down before going to view the car by the way? Hope you find the car your searching for!
  6. Awesome! Looks great too! I listened to the YouTube video but I know what you mean it doesn't actually mean it does sounds like that
  7. Stumbled across this while getting that Jun link, 5 pages of techy stuff to get your head round if you have the time: http://www.370z.com/MagazineArticles/tabid/57/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/57/Nissans-370Z-VQ37VHR-Cylinder-Head-and-VVEL-Continually-Variable-Cam-Timing-Technology-Technological-Terror-or-Performance-Breakthrough.aspx
  8. AFAIK that only applies to the intake cam. Our exhaust cams are just normal camshafts so can be changed, there's one aftermarket set I know of: Jun. All sorts of long winded threads on USA forums about them, which I've not read. The Jun product info is misleading IMO as they compare a stock car + exhaust to a built engine (higher compression CP pistons & CP rods as well as their exhaust cams) with larger injectors & different ECU plus the exhaust then claim those gains: http://www.junauto.co.jp/news/enews000163.html Either way, they look cool
  9. A friend of mine has ordered one of these, picking up first of March on the new plates, has owned a 350 in the past too. His other current cars includes an S2k, 400bhp Evo X and 600+bhp Evo 9 so will be good to compare. I'll be badgering him for a drive no doubt
  10. Dusted off the Xbox and played some retro Forza 3 at the weekend with some spare timre, god I was crap
  11. 100% agree, but 'pub numbers' seem to crop up more & more these days, all too often I get asked: - How much power is it running? - Stock - What quarter mile time can it do? - Never ran it - What's the 0-60 time? - Never do standing starts I'd rather Nitron / JRZ suspension with Alcon brake kits & slicks myself for track use
  12. Another point of view could be tuning capabilities. Being NA there's only 'so much' we can do until it starts getting very costly, gains are relatively small unless you go FI so very limited IMO. I mean, if I went mad and bought full exhaust, headers back, intake, stand alone ECU, meth injection, intake manifold, fuel pump, ID injectors etc what would I see? 360bhp? I'm 320 something from the factory... I guess this only applies to people who put power high up the priority list but its just a thought
  13. I thought they'd be cheaper than that now, my '59 had 18,000 miles on when I picked it up and that was £15k, that was back in June / July time 2013 if its of any use? All Nissan service history with fresh MOT, tax & service done for me. Still the GT pack - whatever that gets you other than the 19" wheels I dunno. Only thing I've missed is search by postcode, twice since I owned it tbh. Edit: I can use my phones Bluetooth to make & receive calls, works rather well too. Gotta aux cable in centre bit if I want to listen to music off my phone too
  14. You're right to be tempted Having owned 3 S-bodies before my 370 it's the best decision I ever made, never looked back once. Although I do miss my PS at times... Welcome by the way
  15. Not really an update but I went along to the Pistonheads Breakfast meet at RAF Cosford last month, a friend of mine who also went sent me some snaps of my car, thought I'd add to my thread. The editing he's done makes it look cleaner than it actually was - might be time to update my signature! And a grubby Akrapovic - tut tut:
  16. Congrats on the purchase, I have an '59 too. Only way to use my phone for music is the aux cable, Bluetooth doesn't seem to work with non premium connects. Enjoy
  17. As I'm being boring and staying in on a Saturday night I've just finished watching this, a very good film for anyone that interested / not seen before. Found a YouTube link: Enjoy
  18. Dear god, what a noise!!!! Anyone want my Akrapovic so I can buy this immense exhaust?
  19. Definite plans for new exhaust...car is way too quiet stock.. Deciding on an Ark or invidia or ingen Wheels I was looking at these Or these Or Then see what I think not really sure ... Haha, I tried to keep the stock exhaust, tried & failed Your wheels are different to most of ours already, however genuine TE37's would be stunning
  20. Watching that video makes me miss my skid cars, and Santa Pod... But not all all the massive pot holes at the back of the big track Our Zeds do skid really well, great engine for it too. Looks like you had good fun though, did you get home & instantly book next month too?
  21. Nice colour! Rare to see a non GT Pack, what sort of wheels are / were you thinking about putting on? Intentions to mod it further or leaving it alone...
  22. Sure you dont wanna add Injen to that list? Fitting is really very easy, unless you dont have access to a pit / ramps. On your back in this freezing cold weather won't be much fun lol
  23. That's a good idea, didn't think of that. I will try the manual key in the door lock & see what that does Yeah insurance won't cover it at all, checked into that few years back when first started driving. I'm a far too trusting. I remember at the RAF Cosford meet, I used my wallet as a paperweight for Ians voting box / table as it was blowing away, then just wondered off Not always easy to just go when the whole car is covered in ice & snow though!
