  1. 2 piece rims are welded together, 3 piece can be split down. Thats my understanding anyway.
  2. Nope, because I can't find anything on their website
  3. I think Shine do poly V1 replica's. Have a look at their website.
  4. I assume you've had it apart then? What happened the gasket? It's metal so shouldn't fail. Cleaning is easy, get an aerosol of brake cleaner and spray away, most of the gunk should dissolve and drip out, then rest you can wipe away using a clean cloth soaked in the brake cleaner. Some will tell you you avoid moving the butterfly, but it's on a spring and should return to it's position if you do move it. I moved mine quite a bit to clean it the best i could and it never made any difference. Do this with the TB off the car by the way, you don't want gunk getting into the plenum
  5. 100% but I spent a little bit on number 12, until I used a series of elimination techniques.

    Handbrake

Not done it myself, but I think you need to chop all the rubbery plasticy crap off the last 3-4 inches off the handbrake, then the new one will slide on and fit with grub screws. Not sure of the internal diameter required unfortunately.
  7. Your Uprev licence is valid for up to 3 remaps I believe, so if you change filter and exhaust, get it mapped for £400, then decide to fit a Wasso spacer, it'll only cost about £100 to get it remapped again. The licence is the expensive part of this, it's about £250.
  8. Did you bust yours up or just looking a change?
  9. Yeah from my reading threads I find it unlikely it's the ARB bushings also, but I guess I have to go with my mechanic on this, If the ARB's are worn then I guess they need changed anyway. Trial & error game. I know what you're saying, but my way of thinking is, if you buy new bushes and that's not the problem, is the mechanic gonna refund you for them and not charge you labour since he hasn't done @*!# to fix the problem? Yeah you are 100% right, but I tried to diagnose the problem with no joy, it's been bugging me for months now. It cost me nearly £2000 going down the route you're taking I like stories, please continue

Yeah you are 100% right, but I tried to diagnose the problem with no joy, it's been bugging me for months now. I would take it somewhere else, not because he hasn't a clue, he may be right after all, but just to see if another mechanic diagnoses the same thing or at least the same area. New drop links aren't that expensive and are very easy to change yourself with a few basic tools and a jack. Even if that isn't the problem, you can check them very easily before you buy replacements, or if you're planning on keeping the car for a while I'm pretty sure they'll need done at some point anyway, so it's not wasted money. For me, it's just such a coincidence that he diagnosed an area of very common failure, but the wrong part, so I'd be going for the common known issue first.

    Info please

I've seen this statement about a million times on this forum and quite frankly it's a load of old balls! How many of us would have the Zed if it only achieved 10mpg around town, bearing in mind the amount of us that use them as daily drivers? I know I wouldn't be having one if it was going to drink a gallon every time it went to town and back! Since the Zed actually has reasonable mpg, comparable to much smaller engined hot hatches and possibly a little better than Impreza's and Evo's, the whole statement becomes nil and void because the car very economical for what it is.
  12. I just had a look at my build thread to see what I used. My resistors were 2.2 ohm 1/4 or 1/2 watt, do you know what wattage yours were? Also, have you got both seats swapped or just drivers? If both, did you fit a resistor to each? I know that sounds a bit "IT help desk" but I have to ask

  14. Not a fan, mate, sorry, too much blue for me, but I do like contrasting colours to accent the wheels and calipers etc.

<06 = £280, <06 = £490 Services depend on where you go, but for a regular oil service it shouldn't cost more than £200 but you should be able to get it a good £50 cheaper than that. As for the "big" service, well that depends if it's just a regular "big" service or one that's going to require spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid etc, in which cars, like any car, the sky is the limit. I get around 20mpg in town just driving normally with the odd squirt of the happy pedal, 30+ for long journeys.
  16. Where do you live?? Norn Iron, mate Regs are a little different here with the DVA compared to the DVLA on the mainland. Yours states something to the effect of "cars fitted with xenon lights may have headlight washers and where fitted must function correctly." Whereas the regs here are something like "cars fitted with xenon lights must have headlight washers..." There has already been cases of Evo's and BMW's that left the factory 10 years ago with xenon lights and no washers failing the MoT, even though it wasn't a requirement back then, so they were produced without them. The only way to get an MoT is to get a ferry to Scotland and have it done there, or buy another set of lights.
  17. I'm gonna say it's probably more likely to be the actual drop link than the arb bush...
  18. I googled colours too before buying mine and when I received them they were nothing like the pictures, so not sure how much the bands can be relied upon.
  19. Will only work with those that already have a dual exhaust, unless they want to get a custom mid pipe fabricated up.
  20. Oh this is good news, because I believe RT is taking a break from it Any other finishes other than carbon?
  21. Unfortunately the law here states I have to have washers, so keep an eye out in the next couple if weeks for the first V2 with washers fitted. Either that or a thread about April with me ranting about the stupid mot regulations here!
