  1. Sorry mate it's gone. Thought I'd updated the thread, my bad. He sold it to another 300 owner. sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk
  2. Ok, so it looks like the folks who pmd me are no longer able to attend, or already have a ticket. Please let me know if you'd be interested in the spare stand pass + ticket ASAP.
  3. Shouldn't be too bad, provided we get there that early. Similar issues for all car shows, yet for both Japfest and Japfest 2, we got there early and were in within 10 - 15 minutes.
  4. Gates open at 7, would be a good idea to be there for then, or meet us at the services on the M1 before 6:30.
  5. Tickets and track time has arrived. Rose will be sending out the tickets tomorrow, but in light of what happened with the tickets we sent out for Japfest2, we're holding on to the track time and you guys can collect it from us at Silverstone to make sure you don't miss it. Please make a note of your track time and remember you will need to attend a briefing prior to being allowed on the track, if you're in the early session like me, I strongly suggest meeting us at the Northampton Services on the M1 before 6:30am, as you'll need to attend your briefing almost as soon as they open the briefings up. First briefing is at 8:20am! - UPDATE: Rose tells me that EVERYONE is in the 8:20 briefing, so PLEASE make sure you're there in time. As a side note, one of the 300zx drivers has been invited to go on the Adrian Flux stand and so now has a spare ticket and stand pass. Several people have approached me for a ticket and stand pass, so in the interests of fairness, I will be contacting those people in the order they contacted me to offer them the opportunity to purchase the ticket. If the first person I speak to has a ticket already and/or is no longer interested, I'll move on to the next person who contacted me and so on. If no one on that list takes it, there will be a ticket and pass up for grabs. Sadly, as it's so late in the day and I need to reasonably give each person at least a day to reply (Not everyone gets PM updates to their phone), if no one on that list does take it, the person who does, will have to collect it from us at the services and it will likely be very short notice. Please let us know when you receive your tickets (It'll be Monday most likely) and watch this space for updates.
  6. Looks like great fun! Remember doing something similar at gaydon for the GTR anniversary about 11 years ago. Was a great day. sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk
  7. Sadly, the knowledge and abilities you get with service techs in dealerships, largely comes down to which techs are working that day and in some cases, what rates the dealership pays it's techs. Smaller dealerships are more likely to pay better rates and attract more talented techs, the larger dealerships tend to deal with more 'chaff' like Micras and Notes, so they just hire any old 'fitter' to work in their tech dept. I used to work for a medium sized dealership many years ago and learned this the hard way. Most of the techs are ex-Kwik-Fitters or people who can't get a decent tuning shop/local garage to hire them, so they slip in through the wonders of centralised HR that many dealerships use. Best bet, or at least so I've always found, is to find a tuner, or local mechanic by word of mouth, then stick with them. I have a local mechanic who's been working on my families cars for decades now, races his own MG Midget in his spare time, which is the fastest MG Midget you've ever seen! I also have a friend who's a Z enthusiast and runs his own garage, he knows the Z32 backwards, as he rebuilt his own from the ground up and has done tonnes of work on other Z32 owners cars as well. Then to top it off, I was once a mechanic, not an awesome one I grant you, but a mechanic, so I know my way around a spanner and can do many things myself.
  8. Nice looking Z! I do like the Azure blue for the 350s. Welcome to ZCar ownership.
  9. Erm, people who do that to nice cars, should be wheeled out in front of their family and ....... wait, I've heard this speech before and someone got in trouble for it......stopping.
  10. First car in New Zealand: Last car in New Zealand: Back in England and current vehicles:
  11. Sadly missing pictures for lots of my cars, but here we go. First car: Second car: capri.bmp Fourth car: Fifth car: Lost count now, but a few more in the next post from most recent years.
  12. I live at the end of the runway that plane lives on (Doncaster Airport) and fook me is it loud! I live about 1 mile due north of the runway, so whether it's landing or taking off, it's less than 1000 feet above my house when it goes over, lol. Can tell the difference between it and a passenger jet by the fact that we don't notice the passenger jets.....nuff said.
  13. We've just installed 2 reverse cameras in the Z32, one each side for symmetry, lol. The drivers side one goes to a small 4" screen at the bottom of the drivers A-Pillar and is more intended as a rear view mirror replacement, that can be checked at the same time as the oil temperature, which is a gauge in the A-Pillar (Pretty much just for track use) and the passenger side one is going to a double din headunit we've just bought but not fitted yet. Loving those kick plates, want to find something similar for the Z32.
  14. Good how to! A similar problem with the stretched threads can happen, when people use even cheaper spacers, without studs and also don't extend the stock wheel studs. This happened on one of the 300s we bought, the guy had put 25mm of spacers on the front wheels, with stock studs and stock nuts!!!! When we got back from Scotland to Yorkshire, we discovered this (Amongst other things, like the drivers front calliper not actually being bolted tight to the hub) and were very relieved my wife wasn't killed driving it back. Can't stress enough the importance of ensuring your wheel studs are right!
  15. Sounds about right, as putting the handbrake on, just switches a 'switched earth' to 'on', which then flashes up the handbrake light on your dashboard, because the 'switched earth' has completed the circuit it's connected to, which is otherwise incomplete. Same thing for the turbo timer cut-out, so that when my turbo timer is on, dipping the handbrake, switching the 'switched earth' to 'off', breaks the circuit, kills the turbo timer, thus killing the ignition bypass, thus preventing the theft of my car, whilst on the turbo timer In less words, ground it!
  16. That looks like it's particularly gorgeous!
  17. I've considered selling my BMW 330 for a 370 recently, but they're just that little bit expensive and nice for something I'm gunna hammer 500 miles a week into on the motorway. The beemer is a 2002 and was low mileage when I got it, so I'm just making up the miles it was missing I guess, lol. Good luck with the saving mate, I'm sure you'll not regret it.
  18. I own a 3.0 Twin Turbo 300zx, a 3.0 Petrol BMW Clubsport and a 4.0 V8 Petrol P38 Range Rover, I guess I didn't get that memo, lol. You're quite right though, the same thing has plagued the 370 that plagued the 300 in its day, it was a big power sports car, which was released in a time of austerity, low employment and high prices. The 300zx depreciated all the way down to a few hundred quid a few years ago, it's only just bouncing back.
  19. Can't think of anything worse than having to get on a helicopter all the time for work. I have enough trouble coming to terms with how many accidents there are every day on my drive to work across the infamous M62, without having to also overcome my fear of flying. Don't get me wrong, put me on a big airliner, not really a problem, especially once it's going, but any small aircraft and I'm not good! I feel for the friends and families of those lost. My wifes uncle works on the rigs and she worries about him quite a bit.
  20. So that's a yes then! Spoilerless on a RWD sports car.........words escape me, lol Spoilers are pointless enless u do over 90 so unless it's tracked there useless That's just not true, there are certain rules to a sports car, it must be coupe shaped, it must be rwd, it must sound good and........it MUST HAVE A SPOILER! lol My missus designed mine, then fitted the bodykit, then painted it and she does all the dash mods and such, all I have to deal with is the performance mods and driving it
  21. So that's a yes then! Spoilerless on a RWD sports car.........words escape me, lol
  22. Are you mad? sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk
  23. That picture was the day I cut the paint, which was 2 days after she painted it, which was about 7 - 10 days before I tore a gash in the skirts, she was not impressed. lol
  24. Getting nicer, that spoiler makes a HUGE difference to the 350 IMHO.
