  1. ^^ Well kitted garage - thing of beauty ...so different from my junk dumping cave..
  2. Very cool all that. Love the green snakeskin
  3. I've been Fluxed - my first impressions are that Dan is very helpful and they phone back very promptly. Their quote for my supercharged Z is pretty reasonable too - fully comp, everything declared Only issue I've had was a boring tech one - a minor wrinkle with iOS8.3 on their dedicated website: mods entry was/is a bit clunky, but apart from that, they've been fine so far Dan's even getting it looked at. As a comparison, the telephone operator for my previous insurer/broker the AA didn't even know what a supercharger was - and thought I had anti 'rail' bars. The AA's requotes were expensive, then futile and laughable.
  4. LOL - now there is absolutely NO reason for you to keep procrastinating over your supercharger install*. Chop chop *unless you've already done it and I missed it
  5. I'm hoping they will fix my lean issue! Otherwise as I said to Mark the car is going off the nearest cliff in a fit of 'first world problem' rage. I need to catch up with your thread but is there a reason you're upgrading your rails? I've built a logger which has fuel pressure as one of the parameters. Pressure is very jumpy when boosted - probably not surprising as in my case I have stock rails and only 1 damper at the moment. I want higher flow capacity and better damping. I don't get noticeable lean spots low down - but fuel supply leading up to peak power appears to lean off a bit, along with flow and/or pressure problems, and that is not good for long term engine health. I decided the time has come to scrap the AAM stage 0 and jump to CJ stage 2 for better headroom I'm actually giving the whole fuel system a full going over including uprated wiring to the pump (which is a JWT suggestion).
  6. ^^ Same. Big one works really well (fortunately) in the PCV high vacuum side and is solid and properly sealed - so the design must have some practical validity. It certainly cleans vapours out to protect the manifold from engine vapours. Money well spent IMHO considering the thousands of FI investment it's helping to protect. I too have a second smaller one which I haven't fitted yet. The second can was bought on a whim for the intake side - but so far not much vapour seems to drop out in the intercooler/inlet connected side - my pre-MAF intake pipe was clean as a whistle when I took it off for modification recently. I haven't checked upstream intercooler pipes however
  7. Nice fuel rails - I've got a pair of anodised blue CJ V3 FPD as part of an S2 kit inbound
  8. We like spanner time on here.. Your new Zed just wanted you to get to know her better
  9. Only bit of Stillen in my exhaust is the Y pipe.. My VQ35-DESC setup is OEM headers, Fast Intention HFCs, Stillen Y, and the rest Fujitsubo Legalis R (stainless) with 4" tips. Love it personally: vvvmmms at 2750-3000 RPM cruising rather than drones on uninvited. Yowls at me when my boot is down People comment that my car sounds good - I agree
  10. Supercharger you will need.. The Force strong it will be..
  11. Me, fixed one I have. Build thread you must look.. start from the end, I advise. Backwards you will find the glorious can of wonder. [/yoda] Or skip to page 5 for where I installed it, then buried in there (pages 8 and 15) is usage - works a treat, bronze filter stays clean, supercharger application, very happy bunny, me Use the forum force Luke.
  12. Not sure cutting or hammering is really anywhere near considering - a bit one way that process Can't beat a cuppa whilst draining the supercharger oil - I had a cup of coffee emptying and another filling. Love coffee nearly as much as ale, me
  13. Hahahah - drama queen person You just have to extract the dipstick into the void under the inner wing, then let it naturally rotate find it's way to the exit gap as shown above (assuming you've got no looms in the way etc ..I did spend ages repositioning looms when I did my install) peasy is easy Glad you got it done and glad you said ages ago as yours must be well over 2500 miles s/c by now Ahh the old vent plug - dipstick filler debate - see I was right after all if Mark stamped his approval, I'm happy (Go me ) Kudos for DIY Gareth
  14. You've got Escort bloke and his bird up your rear end photo-bombing you too..
  15. Dunno what this guy was thinking - it's one thing to go tanking down a clear road and end up in a ditch ..but playing Asteroids/Frogger with other cars at max velocity Bloke needs a ban, prison sentence and his car crushed in front of him!
  16. To be fair, the bloke does have his wife dishing out driving instructions next to him. We all know how well that works out
  17. I know - bit sad really. I still need a paper pass for work. I went for coordinated Richbrook TDHs when tax discs were still needed. Work might be stopping paper passes for ANPR style entry too, so all a bit historic now - but still shiny, can't bring myself to take them off
  18. For today's pictorial homage to sensory awareness, we have the auxiliary Intake Air Temperature Sensor.. Firstly, I bored a hole in the Vortech kit short bend intake pipe thingy using a step drill bit. Step drill bits are Christmas tree shaped bits which give good holes in sheet metal as each step bores it's own pilot hole - I put a felt washer of the correct size over it to stop it going past the step I wanted (12mm). After de-burring, I've used some of the "toughest bond in the USA" (J-B Weld) glue to fix an aluminium boss in place, instead of potentially ruining my pipe with aluminium welding. Should be good for the task - temperature range and adhesive strength are all within likely requirements All screwed in, the thermistor has plenty of exposure to the air flow.. Fitted.. without interference to existing bolts or brace
