  1. Just watched it on iplayer great show got some good mileage out of the Tron soundtrack!!
  2. Well done! Its quite the labour of love passing a Motor bike test these days, but when the stress of the test has passed its quite fun actually!! Good skills
  3. Might be worth buying a trickle charger too if you are leaving it for long spells
  4. agreed! Or this one (controversial)
  5. I agree, the show is full of vacuous, self serving, back stabbing bell ends (All very un-British) What amazes me, is how confident they are of their bullshit. If this is an "Insight" into how big business is run, its no wonder, we are in such economic strife.
  6. Pile of dog wa@k from the Burberry cap of car production
  7. Governments have to control the masses (that you and me!) They use fear tactics to keep us all pointing in one direction i.e. away from current problems for example the financial problem we have today towards future problems or problems realistically we cannot do anything about. So far we have had religion. Then people had a more pragmatic approach to the wrath of god. So, then, world war, Communism, Terrorism etc, etc. It’s all smoke and mirrors. The world is an old and odd thing. It has its natural pitches and changes, to old and complicated for us to accurately predict anything for sure. Ice ages are a natural thing, as we have had many before now, we are also due a shift in magnetic polarity too - that should be fun! Keep smiling, if life was fair, Elvis would be alive and the impersonators dead...

  10. June 19th: Sepang International Circuit (Malaysia) The Sepang round of the 2011 SUPER GT series took place over the June 18-19 weekend at Sepang International Circuit (located on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia). After qualifying in 2nd place, the #46 S Road MOLA GT-R (Masataka Yanagida/Ronnie Quintarelli) earned the same position in the race. For this year's debutants, it was their first podium. Under cloudy skies, the race got underway at 4pm with the customary rolling start, the order of which had been decided in the previous day's Super Lap. Sitting on pole was the #1 HSV-010, though the machine that topped the timesheets in Saturday's first qualifying session and again in Sunday morning's warm up was the #46 GT-R. Their performance in those sessions set the scene for what was to come in the race. Ronnie Quintarelli was in charge of the car's set-up and duly took starting driver duties, setting off from the outside of the front row. Latching onto the rear bumper of the pole-sitting #1 HSV-010, he finished the opening lap in 2nd place. From there, he waited for a chance to reverse the leading cars' positions, continuously applying pressure from behind and waiting for his rival to make a mistake. That error never came however, and Quintarelli pitted the #46 GT-R on lap 23, handing the car over to Masataka Yanagida. However, the timing of the stop was not favourable and after changing tyres, the car's pace on its outlap wasn't sufficient to overhaul the #1 machine and the chance of taking over the premier position escaped the team. Yanagida continued to drive at a steady pace throughout the latter stages of the race, crossing the line in 2nd place after the car had completed 46 laps. Winners of the Sepang round in 2007 and 2008, the KONDO RACING squad was looking for another strong finish this time around. Qualifying in eighth place, Bjorn Wirdheim was given starting driver responsibilities in the #24 GT-R, and he impressed by advancing to fifth on the opening lap while also building up a gap to his pursuers. The Swede made an early pit stop, coming in to hand over to Hironobu Yasuda on lap 16. By lap 29, when all machines had made their stops, the car was running in fourth - and would go on to cross the finish line in that position. Team Director Masahiko Kondo: "Last year we weren't able to finish better than fifth, so this result was crucial for the team and our self-confidence." Meanwhile, the #12 CALSONIC IMPUL GT-R saw Joao Paolo de Oliveira, who qualified the car 4th, take the wheel for the opening stint. Amidst the confusion at the first corner on the opening lap however, he got pushed into the runoff area. Though there was no damage to the car, he lost valuable positions by falling to eleventh. To add insult to injury, a problem developed with the engine, robbing the team of their top speed. As a result, despite being unable to increase its pace, the car was brought in on lap 16, Tsugio Matsuda jumping into the car. The problem remained unresolved throughout the second half of the race, and Matsuda finished in a disappointing 15th position. After winning the Fuji round in May, the #23 MOTUL AUTECH GT-R (Satoshi Motoyama/Benoit Treluyer) came to Sepang weighed down with the greatest amount of success ballast among the GT-R entries, 52 kilos. Because of this, the car could do no better than 12th in qualifying. In the race, Treluyer took the wheel for the first half, though the car was beset with suspension trouble, making attacking in the corners impossible. He came in on lap 28, handing over to Motoyama who took charge for the final stint. On this occasion the team made the stop without changing tyres, trying to shave off time to the cars ahead by whatever means possible. Although the machine returned to the track in 6th place, overall pace remained unimproved and the car finished the race in 14th. NISMO Team Director Yutaka Suzuki's comment: "The fact that there was trouble with the suspension meant we were unable to do anything to remedy the problem. In terms of strategy, we decided even before the race that we'd run the stop without a tyre switch. We want to put this unfortunate result behind us and prepare for the next round at SUGO. I believe we'll be able to put up a good fight there, so expect us to regain our true form for the next race." #46 GT-R driver Ronnie Quintarelli's comment: "The car has been absolutely fantastic this week, and before the race I really thought we had a chance to win. As it happened however, we finished in 2nd place. This being our first podium of the season, we can consider it a good result. For the next round, without doubt we'll be aiming at victory." #46 GT-R driver Masataka Yanagida's comment: "Thank you everyone for your support. Though it's frustrating to have finished 2nd, I think it shows that we're moving in the right direction, and bodes well for the future. This result galvanizes our resolve for the next race, as does your continued support." 11. Yep. I get a nice clutchy guff every now and then, just put it down to the high performace clutch in these things, plus you sometime need to ride it a bit for a smoother pull away.
  12. Britain to design, engineer and build new Qashqai Posted on 09 June 2011 by Editor NISSAN’S British workers will be designing, engineering, and building the next version of the best-selling Nissan Qashqai. The new Qashqai project will safeguard 6,000 jobs, both direct and indirect through the UK supply chain, and represents a £192m investment in Britain and is being funded entirely by Nissan. It will build on the success of the current Qashqai which is the highest-volume car produced in the UK with export levels of around 80 per cent. The first stage of development will see the new version of the pioneering crossover styled at Nissan’s European Design Centre in Paddington, London. Once the design is finalised, engineers from the Nissan Technical Centre Europe in Cranfield, Bedfordshire will take hold of the project. The completed car will be built in the company’s Sunderland manufacturing facility. Making the announcement outside 10 Downing Street, Carlos Ghosn, the president and chief executive officer of Nissan Motor Co., said: ‘The UK has been a cornerstone of Nissan manufacturing since 1986, with the Sunderland plant setting important benchmarks for quality and efficiency in Europe and around the world. ‘It’s the home of the Qashqai, one of Nissan’s biggest product successes. And as Nissan’s leadership in sustainable transportation grows, the plant will become one of the pillars of our zero-emission manufacturing.’ Nissan’s Sunderland plant will produce its one millionth Qashqai later this month and more than 80 per cent of current production is exported to 97 markets worldwide. In addition, Nissan is also investing £420m in Sunderland plant for the production of the LEAF from 2013 and in a new stand-alone facility to make lithium-ion batteries for both Renault and Nissan vehicles from 2012. Prime Minister David Cameron said: ‘This investment from Nissan is fantastic news and a great demonstration of the strength and vitality of the UK car industry. That future manufacturing and R&D has been secured is a tribute to the skill, expertise and hard work of Nissan’s UK workforce. ‘It is vital that we have a strong manufacturing base to rebalance our economy and secure sustainable economic growth, and it is this Government’s determination that we do all we can to enable businesses to invest, to grow and create jobs. ‘I have seen first hand the tremendous work at the Nissan Sunderland plant; this is a great day for them, the whole of the North East and for UK manufacturing too.’

  14. Did know if you had seen this? Nissan gears up for Le Mans 24 Hours Posted on 08 June 2011 by Editor GT ACADEMY winner Lucas Ordonez is going to see all of his dreams come true when he competes at Le Mans in the Signatech Nissan LMP2 car, this weekend. ‘Le Mans has been my dream since I was ten-years-old,’ said Ordonez. ’It is the most important race in the world and a very important event for my family. My father has all the yearbooks, which I used to read as a kid, never thinking I would one day be part of it. Even after winning GT Academy I never expected to get this far and I don’t think I’m really going to believe it until it happens. ‘The Test Day was an amazing experience for me; on my first lap is started to rain so it was pretty scary along the Mulsanne. After that though I enjoyed the moment, going through all those legendary corners and I can’t wait to go back there for the race.’ Nissan has created a rich history at Le Mans since its first attempt at the world-famous race in 1986 where the company entered two of its R85V prototypes. Throughout the 80s and 90s Nissan entered a host of GT and prototypes in the 24-hour race – from the R90CK which took pole position in 1990 to the R390 GT1 that finished third overall in 1998 and finally the R391 in 1999. Now after an eleven-year absence Nissan is back. The Japanese manufacturer is supplying the Nissan VK45DE V8 engines to three LMP2 teams in the 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours: partner team Signatech Nissan, Greaves Motorsport and Team Oreca Matmut.
  15. Check the fuse first obviously, after that a bit of trail and error i'm afraid. Is this something you have had fitted as I belive that the fuel release cap was cable fed, and the 370Z's where a push flap afair!! If it is a cable then i may just have snaped if there is not tension on it..
  16. There is one here from a dealer unmolested, which you will have some "come back" on less money, same age few more miles though? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
  17. Absolutely not! As mentioned in other posts to this site, large engine cars a extremely difficult to sell in this current climate, so to spend ELEVEN GRAND on a car which needs a fortunes worth of tyres spending on it, plus ANYTHING else which could be wrong with a 5 year old car is the minimum consideration in my view. The guy sounds a tool, go further afield, get the right car, at the right price, patience will prevail.... Best of luck
  18. How much are you looking to spend?
  19. As a general rule of thumb in the trade, take the current market value of the car as if it was not a Cat D, then half that value.
  20. A Nissan dealer should charge you an hours labour to do this work (£50/£60+vat). However the cost of the part is another matter....
  21. Could be a heat shield expanding and contracting in the heat.. would need a closer look in fairness
