It’s the whole health service, isn’t it?
In the summer I suffer with hay fever, in very extreme cases I get a bit wheezy, and need an inhaler. If I use this thing twice a year I would be surprised.
Anyway a couple of years ago, the inhaler I had was out of date, so I rang up for a repeat prescription.
Oh no, I had to come in for a check-up, with the nurse, because it is "So important to have an inhaler" whatever, but it will be taking me out of work.
"No, you need to come in, it wouldn't take long"
So went in, my appointment time was in arrears by 20 minutes.
Finally got to see the nurse, who again told how important this all was, and it would take long.
Very long story short, I was in there for an hour and a half, and had all sorts of tests done, and I was even given a book to fill in every time I had to use it! as it is "vital that I am NEVER without my inhaler"
Finally got out of there with a prescription, so I went to the counter at the doctors to pick it up, only to be told that they didn’t have it and I would have to go to another chemist.
Got to the chemist, and it was shut.
When back to the doctors as it is "vital that I am NEVER without my inhaler"
Guess what - they were shut.
Unsurprisingly that was two or three years ago , I never went back and I am still alive.
What a massive waste of time
