Yeah if anything McDonald was the most culpable as he saw her in a shocking state and took her to a hotel. Mind you it brings all sorts of questions up, like where were her friends? My mac did the same thing, a succession of crashes then a dead boot, you will find if you try to reinstall there is no hard drive listed. It might not necessarily be the hard drive though, when I got mine looked at it was simply the connector from the drive to the mac so they just replaced that and bingo all was well in the world once more and all my stuff was sitting on the drive happily waiting for me.
