  1. This is the best photo I could muster of the button surround they did for part of my dash - has that glassy, polished look. I think it complemented the paint work quite nicely.

    Engine oil

I think its valve stem seals that can go as a common cause of oil usage and burn, but this would results in blue smoke out the back. I would speak to a couple of the aforementioned guys who can give you a more complete answer! (not saying the guys you spoken to are not competent)
  3. I agree mate, sent my dash off to them from the VX and they had to scrape off all the adhesive, polish it back flat, prep it, put the colour down, lay the carbon over it and lacquer the whole thing. Very impressed and it looked a million dollars. So much better look than vinyl.
  4. Nice work fella. I used the same company to put red carbon graphics on the dash on my VX220 - very good bunch, they even matched the red carbon shade to the red paintwork on my car!
  5. Seems a lot of cash for what is tantamount to just getting a nice noise? From what I have seen of the Nismo its only just a bit louder than stock, you would need HFCs or decats to make it roar a bit more, but thats more cash...

    Engine oil

Scuse my basics, but how is it 'burning oil' if there is no smoke?

    Engine oil

Is the oil light coming on and then you are changing it, or you just checking on the dipstick? Any smoke out the exhaust? If so what colour? Any signs of oil stains on the engine/underneath? Try laying some cardboard under the car overnight and seeing whats on it in the morning. Im no mechanic or expert by any stretch but getting some of these answers before calling up the guys would help hone the answers they come back with.
  8. Are you hearing the sound from a video or the like? Cant you just get a company to fabricate you an exhaust to make a similar sound? Heard some good stories about custom exhausts.
  9. They did the skirts on my Skyline, again not cheap but decent enough work on the car. Your first quote seems pretty good for a full (windows out?) respray?
  10. Was going to say, looks like you are burning through just one side there...or just too many donuts!
  11. Having used clay a lot, slightly sceptical...will let more people have a go and stick my tried and trusted for now!
  12. Reckon I will be able to afford an Eleanor in my lifetime...although anyone who says the 350z is their ultimate "dream car" is lying! (sorry to be harsh people!)
  13. From what you are describing we should write off light flywheel chatter, it shouldnt sound that bad...
  14. Super stuff! It does hook you! And it mutates! I have had VXitis and Skylinitis which are variants of Zeditis since as well!
  15. From now on, you are 'Sad Dan'
  16. Dangerous driving carries a potential for a 2 year imprisonment where drink driving only 6 months in very extreme circumstance. Both offence in this case goes hand in hand with the more serious being dangerous driving by virtue of being drunk. If someone is drunk walking down the street and swinging a baseball bat around as a crowd approaches and some police get in the way and get hit its a jail term. Why do the courts just not recognise the seriousness of drink driving? As far as I am concerned the woman in question is on a charge of attempted manslaughter minimum. If she couldn't even stop when she saw a set of headlights heading towards her she was clearly a massive danger to the public and chose to take that action. She is a pathetic and worthless piece of crap that should be chucked into the slammer and be taught a SERIOUS lesson, none of this 'oh you can't drive for a couple of years' nonsense.

  18. Remap. Better driving experience all round. I can live with crap music, bumper car aerials and the like!
  19. Nope, it was an affordable car for the budget - 'Dream Car' to me shouts massively aspirational which would be Ferrari of some description but very unlikely to I would pump that much cash into a car. It worked for me on the budget at the time, since then I have had a better racing car in the VX220 and a better iconic car in the Skyline. The 350z ticked lots of boxes and I really liked it, but wouldn't buy another one, been there done that. Dream car that someday I might own, realistically, Eleanor
  20. They had to do it, no question. Otherwise she would have plower into the rolling road of traffic behind the police car. Woman should be in bloody prison for a number of years instead of the pathetic driving ban dished out. As usual the punishments in this country are nothing short of woefully inadequate.
  21. Well done mate - see these cars arent so bad after all!
  22. Fair play, the guy shouldn't be getting all up tight about it though - its generally good manners to state whether a car is Cat C or not. Some people will have paid good money to HPI check it only to find it an obvious Cat C, the seller is messing people around and trying to get a dodgy sale by not disclosing it. Yes I know people can check it, but usually that is for a hidden past that even the seller might not know about, this guy clearly knows he is selling a car which is Cat C not disclosing it. Shifty as **** if you ask me and got what was coming to him.
