Always amazes me how many car dealers just cant spell. You would have at least thought they would have proof read what they had just written in the advert before clicking go.

I guess it depends on what shape the parcel is I suppose. If its a dvd shape then you might be okay, but if its shaped more like a cucumber id leave it well alone! -
Your kidding me? Im older than you?! or do you mean 140?

Happy birthday, treat yourself to a new set of tyres - preferably a different make on each corner!

Advice on two way radios- particularly our Scottish members
rabbitstew replied to davedutch's topic in 350Z General
How about some CB Radios?! Yeeeeeh haarrrr good buddy, thats a big 10-4. One thing id say about hand held radios, is that you are sitting inside a metal object, and any portable device with an aerial on it will struggle with a long range unless you have a roof mounted mag-mount aerial. But if your just in convoy you should be fine! -

Hope you get a good result from this. As others have said, this isnt unusual as the editing / production of the film does take a while and these guys are usually flat out. One thing we found with ours is that they are very keen to get it to you asap, as they own the copyright for the film, and usually if any relations/friends want a copy, the film maker can make a few extra quid charging for copies of the film etc. On my wedding day, we actually had a problem where by the live entertainment / DJ who we had booked failed to turn up. We didnt realise until we were told at 6pm that evening that the guy who was supposed to have arrived and be set up ready for 7pm hadnt showed up. Queue numerous phone calls to the guy who denied all knowledge of the booking (even though we had met him weeks before hand at the actual venue so we could show him what we wanted and go through it all). Luckily for us, one of our wedding guests was a very good professional singer, and another one of our guests was a professional DJ. So they made a couple of calls and within 30mins we had a massive van turn up with shed loads of disco/DJ gear as well as a live singer & DJ, all for free. It was amazing, lasers, lights, smoke machines, room full of speakers. They practically turned the place into some nightclub. As for the original entertainment we had booked, a few well placed phone calls from some of the more "persuasive" wedding guests and myself, resulted in a full refund, plus about £1000 "compensation" from the guy. -
Looks really nice. The old stock canvas type hood does tend to fade etc and look a bit rough after a few years. I managed to restore mine back using a roof cleaner & conditioner stuff from halfords every 6 months, but I later found out that the new owner of my old car had the whole hood replaced as it had started to wear through eventually.

Sell your car and get an HR model, 7500rpm limit on them!

Mine was a 1972 850cc Mini, which cost me £20 back in 1992. I spent about £100 on it getting it through its mot, which included doing tons of welding and respraying the entire car. Insurance cost me over £500 third party only. Ran it for 2 years, by which time it was then so rotten it was beyond fixing, so I scrapped it and actually made a profit on it from selling all the parts off.

very true! I remember dating a farmers daughter many moons ago. She was quite a tomboy though which I assumed was because she had like 3 older brothers and was always mucking in on the farm. Any how, year or so after we split she came out that she was a lesbian. Was a shame really as we had all the same interests.. motorbikes, cars, drinking beer, women...

Nissan Birmingham by the looks of it? If so, thats where I bought my 350z from. Took it back a few weeks later as the hood was sticking a bit. They broke the hood and needed the car a bit longer to fix. They didnt mess about at all, gave me a brand new 370z Roadster off their forecourt to use for a few days until they fixed it. Only negative thing I found was that in the 370z (which i guessed was being used as a demo car) there were loads of receipts for unleaded fuel. -
Yeah I read that, but looking at the guy, his physique doesnt look anything different to most other guys who might casually go to the gym and certainly not at the level you`d need to start taking roids to get any bigger. Im guessing he took them as a quick way to try and get a bit into shape before entering knowing that there would be plenty of opportunities to get his shirt off and get some publicity. As for being addicted to them, find that hard to believe, unless he was so paranoid about loosing what muscle he had that psychologically he just couldnt bring himself to stop taking them.

I ran my HR 350z on either Shell V-Power or Tesco`s equivalent (depending which garage was nearest when i was on empty) for 18 months and have to say I noticed no difference at all in performance or economy.

so i just took my driving test in my 350z and....
rabbitstew replied to cov350z's topic in 350Z General
Well done, thats excellent. I remember I passed my driving test in the instructors toyota corolla, purely because I didnt think the driving examiner would be too impressed with my own car which was a 1970 850cc Classic Mini which had so much rust the floor pan resembled Fred Flintstones car. Even back then the insurance on it cost me 25 times what the car cost, so no way could I have afforded anything a bit "sportier" ! -
Well done! I had my "see what you were doing this time last year" come up on facebook earlier and this time last year, I was out at 6am in -4 degrees cold doing a 4 mile run. Unfortunately due to a nasty running injury I got on New Years Day this year ive only been able to go running a couple of times since, and I can still feel the injury now. Those compression stuff I found does work really well.

In the main, I was surprised at how few people actually do drink/drive these days, so I think in general the message is getting over to people. I think it was last year my local police force released details of their Christmas Drink Driving campaign. I cant remember the exact figures, but it was something like they stopped 2500 people who they "suspected were drink driving" and only 12 were actually over the limit. It was something like 0.4%. Whilst fair enough, locking those 12 people up may have stopped them killing someone by drink driving, but I had to wonder what an earth the other 2488 drivers were doing in order to be pulled over and that maybe the police needed better training at identifying a drunk driver.

I think location also has a big part to do with it. I grew up in the middle of the sticks and so in order to get to the nearest pub everyone had to drive (or get taxi`s). I think at one point nearly everyone in that pub got done for drink/driving at one time or another. Even the landlord who used to sometimes offer lifts home to people got done once. The pub did have a reputation for being open 24/7 and I guess at 4am after a heavy session, the hassle of trying to get a taxi, compared to just driving home on "quiet" back roads, then having the hassle of collecting your car the next day just didnt seem appealing to a lot of people. Personally my solution was to start dating a bird who lived close to the pub.

I bought a flamer kit about 10 years back off the net but never got around to using it. It is indeed a spark plug you screw into your exhaust about a foot from the end, then if I remember correctly you wire it up to your car battery & a switch on the dash. I thought it might be a good way of stopping people tail gating me.

I feel your pain brother! Me too! Other half moved in 4 years back and ive not had any time to play any games since. Too busy doing housework now!

How to fake a breathalyser test by the sounds of it! true. That reminded me of a mate when he got breathalyzed. He got stopped driving out of a pub car park (easy target really) after having 3 pints. He came up "amber" (or whatever it shows when it knows you have had a drink but your under the legal limit), and so for ages afterwards he took that as meaning he can have 3 pints and be fine.
