  1. Thats a terrible story and really you would have thought eastern european countries would be a lot more friendlier to the English with the sheer numbers of eastern european people who have now moved to the UK and are working here. I went to Prague about 10 years ago - just before it really became popular for stag dos. Funnily enough it was for a mates stag do and there was about 12 of us all together. We didnt get any trouble. We asked some taxi drivers to take us to a bar, and they ended up driving us out of town to some unit on an industrial estate in the middle of nowhere which turned out to be a brothel. We explained to them that we only wanted a drink and they took us back into town without any problems. In fact at one point, we was going to get a taxi somewhere else and the taxi driver said it would be 20quid and a local passer by heard us talking and actually came over and told us it where we wanted to go was about 2 stops down on the train and that would be miles cheaper. Which I thought was very kind of them. We even hit a "strip" bar which cost us something like 5 quid to get in, it included a free drink and a live show. None of us dare buy another drink in case it cost 200quid or something, but in the end one lad did and it only cost him £1 for a pint. We did wander about the outskirts of the city centre and the "atmosphere" did not seem friendly, but that was probably the look of the buildings. We even found a very dodgy looking nightclub which seemed to be in a derilict building which reminded me of that scene in Blade but again we didnt have any problems. Which actually supprised me as a number of the lads on the stag do are proper looney hooligans and 9/10 times they seem to get into fights when they are out on the town here in the UK. Of course this was all some time ago now, and things have probably changed since then!
  2. Link to my most, which has a link in it to alex who can get these. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=47076&p=691277&hilit=+alezan+gear+knob#p691277
  3. Search on here for "wanted alezan gear knob" as nearly everyone who has the alexan / burnt orange interior, myself included has to replace the gearknob because they wear out quick!! The cheapest solution to get an original one is to buy from zmanalex like I did, he`s miles cheaper than nissan for the genuine part. But, these arnt cheap items. The cheapest option really is to replace with an alloy aftermarket item.
  4. Supprised this guy didnt say that its a "urine free ford focus", never been wee`d in..... The wetsuit guy still has the wetsuit, the top bidders were just fake and refused to pay. He`s now trying to raffle it off via his own website.
  5. No way! What a result the airfix paint is a perfect match for brembo calipers. What a find!!! I just ordered some for mine as i noticed a couple of mine have chips where someone has caught them when taking alloy wheel on / off. Cheers to the OP!
  6. Excellent news. Sounds like you got a bargain and are over the moon! Make sure you drive it carefully till you get used to it!
  7. I followed a nice but very very dirty 53 plate grey coupe all the way from Cambridge to St Ives on the a14 tonight! Hope your planning to wash it this w/end!!!
  8. I agree. V-twins arnt for everyone. I had a ducati 748sps for a year or so and that was just the same. Awesome noise with its race termini cans and superchip, but you`d just leave it in top and use the torque through the traffic. I just ended up hating it, as i prefer screaming 4 pots!!!
  9. Hi, you have certainly found the right place. Loads of helpful tips and advice on here to read and find out about before you start searching for a zed. Theres also some very nice examples on here for sale, owned and maintained by enthusiasts!
  10. £38 a nut?! is it diamond encrusted?! Id have expected the price to be more like a quid at the max. Talk about a rip off.
  11. If its a bose it should say on the tape deck that its a bose - at least it does on mine. Swapping it out is a fairly straightforward job, i took mine out last w/end.
  12. I wonder if the 2nd year with a zed is much cheaper than the first? I had a lot of insurance companies asking what my previous car was or had I previously had any high performance cars like an evo or a skyline?!?!!!! In theory if you have driven a zed for 12 months without stacking it then statistically you should be a sound investment for year 2 and it should be a lot cheaper to insure.
  13. I read that earlier today and from the picture he certainly made a proper job of trashing it. I had to laugh at the bit where it says the police are investigating to see if the driver was doing more than the 50mph speed limit!!!!!!
  14. Awesome price! I may have to check my local part worn place after all and see if they have anything in before I fork out for some new ones!!!
  15. Thats one reason why you should thoroughly check the part worn tyre before buying it. I never used to touch part worns with a barge pole, then one day my missus needed a new tyre for her car and she got a part worn one which looked nearly new for 1/4 price of the new one. So next time I needed a couple of new tyres for my old car I went back to the same place and got a pair of "part worn" goodyear tyres fitted for £30 all in! Thats £15 a tyre for a tyre which new was about £80 i think. I say the tyre was "part worn" as it looked brand new and even had the little bobbles on it. I suspect it was probably off a spare wheel from a scrap yard or something. For a performance car like the zed I plan to stick with new tyres however rather than part worns.
  16. someone posted on the iii discussion board that theres a news anouncement on RRL tomorrow morning.
  17. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Thats incorrect, you don't pay the 10% Final Value Fee's on car sales on ebay oops i meant 1% !
  19. 400quid is an awesome price!!! Wheres that from?
  20. That does seem a bit steep, but maybe its your age? Im nearly 40 and the cheapest i was getting was 800quid. The specialist insurers, for me at least, came in at £1400. Insurance companies just seem to hate the zed, it would have been cheaper for me to insure a porsche or a m3. I usually find confused.com pretty good at showing the cheapest. You can then play with things like the excess to see what difference that makes on the quote. Id increase the excess slightly. Also, maybe change your job title slightly - as some titles make a huge difference. Did you put down that it has a thatcham cat 1 alarm on it? My insurance company told me the 313 has one fitted as standard. Admiral, elephant and Adrian Flux were the cheapest for me. Postcode does make a difference but not by a grand. My current address costs me 10% more than my old one due to the postcode.
  21. Totally agree. 600s these days are so quick and handle so well that you really do not need any more. Ive got 3 motorbikes atm including an R1. But on the R1 you *always* have to watch that throttle and you really cant use full throttle in the first 3 gears without it wheelying. So you are constantly having to think when you accelerate. Whereas on my zx6r I could wring its neck and always feel confident that I wouldnt suddently get wheelspin at 100+mph. A 600 is so much more forgiving and at the end of the day you can only corner so fast. Ive seen mates on 250cc bikes out corner guys on much bigger bikes! The only benefit with a bigger bike is that on a straight bit of road you can enjoy that extra power when you accelerate. Oh... and they are easier to wheelie...
  22. Couple of options really. First option is to part ex it for something else at a dealer for either a car you want, or one which is easier to sell on. Thats what i did a few months go with the missus`s car. The dealer actually gave us the same sort of price we would have got privately and the car we part ex`d it for will be much easier to sell on. Second option is to put it on ebay. Things always make the "market" price on ebay, which is effectively what joe public want to pay for the car. People are sometimes worried that it wont make anything and someone will buy it for 20quid. But, that never happens. There are millions of people on ebay all looking at the advert and will compete to buy it. Ive sold hundreds of things on ebay and very often people actually end up paying MORE than they can get the same item from elsewhere. I actually put my last car on ebay and had 72 people watching it. The price got to within 500quid of what I wanted with 3 days left to go. In the end someone came out to view it, made me a cash offer which was exactly the price I was looking for and we did a deal. Which saved me forking out 10% of the cars sold price to ebay as "fees". Ive had cars before which I just couldnt shift for love nor money. You end up dropping the price so much people then think there must be something wrong with it so it puts people off. With cars like the zed its all about having the right person come along and it can be just pot luck. I tried to sell an RS2000 escort a good few years back. Cost me £5400 at the time, had it for 2 years and it was mint, with low miles and all the options. But noone wanted it. Mainly because it was group 20 insurance I think. Ended up having to sell it to a car dealer for £1500. Biggest lost ive ever made on a car.
  23. I had a zx6r at one point... very nice bike. Easy to ride, handled well and cheap to service. If you want something more upright, then how about the hornet 600? I think they are awesome looking bikes and good value for money. You can tune them up if thats what you fancy doing later. Other options are SV650 like someone else mentioned or even a Bandit 600. A 600 seems to be the "norm" for first time bikers these days. When I passed my bike test years back people started off on a 250cc bike as their first bike. They would then upgrade to a 400cc for a while before even looking at a 600cc bike. These days 600cc bikes have the same power and performance as a 1000cc sports bike did back then, so its mental now that people can jump straight on a 600cc after passing their test. Still, plenty do it and survive! Dont forget to factor in the cost of leathers, helmet etc... depending on what brand you go for it can cost a bit. Ive got 2 sets of Dianese leathers and they both came in at 1200quid just for the suit!
