  1. Seems to be common of late, I can post 4/5 messages on my Spurs forum while one post on here is thinking about what to do.... At that rate you must have in excess of 50,000 posts on there. Heaven help them!
  2. I managed to do mine myself, relatively straight forward. I remember the caliper bolts being quite tight though.
  3. Should have printed off the E bay add and fixed it to the back for proof of provenance when you take it to Sothebys.
  4. Failing that, some of these. I use them for everything.
  5. Seen this one there a few times as well again always parked well away from the trolleys. Just an excuse to show off how good your wheels look in comparison.
  6. Looking good. How do you stop the whole garage getting covered in overspray. Only reason I ask is we already have a small compressor we use for work and fancy buying a spray gun for refurbing some of the E type bits.
  7. Looking good, I've ordered 5ltrs of special chemical from that website for dipping some of the E type bits. It's supposed to dissolve the rust but does not attack plastic rubber etc. You just leave the bits submersed in the stuff for 24hrs and it strips the rust. Will let you know how it goes as it might do your wheels ?
  8. I think this is one of the pictures from his post... Seriously though, try http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/64678-how-to-treat-this-small-chip-which-has-a-small-bit-of-rust-on-it/
  9. Wizurd posted up a similar question a while back funnily enough and got some good replies, photos and product info. Perhaps pm him or search his posts.
  10. I can see you've been busy Chris, looking good. Saw you Friday morning with your winter wheels on, looks so much better with the Volks back on Glad the horns came in use.
  11. Looking good Doogy .................but an angel grinder?
  12. We all have a bit of Norman in us?
  13. The start of the modern English Language?
  14. Oi Oi I shall be watching with intrest Thanks for all the encouragement guys! Funnily enough, if you look very carefully you will see that it actually started it's life in "Keyser Green" This is also confirmed by the Jaguar Heritage Certificate I now have. What's more impressive is that I now know for sure from this that the engine, cylinder head, gearbox, and body number are all original, making it a "matching numbers" car and in theory worth more. As regards timescale, I'm reluctant to set any deadlines
  15. The brakes are certainly one of the areas I'm looking to upgrade and this does seem to be an " acceptable " upgrade without devaluing the car. Modern alternator, high torque starter, and electronic distributor will probably be other bolt on reversible upgrades . Basically stuff to make it more reliable, safer and user friendly but without detracting from the character of the car.
  16. Is that specially designed to get past air port security? Projects looking good Doogy.
  17. As some may know, I bought an E type roadster last year to use and enjoy with a view to minor restoration. Well, realizing that as I started to do small jobs, I was never going to be happy just trying to keep on top of it I took the bold ( costly and probably foolhardy) decision to strip down every last nut and bolt and start again, including getting the shell back to bare metal. I know it's not a Zed but maybe some of the older members might be interested. So progress so far. No turning back now........

    New Shed

Good luck with the sale Chris. Be great if you can turn a bit of a hobby into making some extra money.
  19. You'll have to sell a kidney, never mind a stubby aerial to fund your project RT
  20. Never mind, no matter what they do, we'll always have Krispy Kreme!
  21. This might sound a bit daft RT but what happens where the new bumper meets the original bodywork? Is there a seam or is it blended in?. Don't let the rust get you down though. Found this good site if you haven't already. http://www.rust.co.uk/ Loads of info and good products. At least yours is still driveable, mines in a hundred labelled up boxes now. Keep up the good work!
