  1. Street always the cheapest Followed by drive Then garage. Seems being seen nicking it or not is the deciding factor in this, not how secure it is.
  2. Will do, Normally get through a set every year, If these last 6 months they will be well worth it. Took the wipe off the last ones in -16 and a clumsy hand when starting the car prior to de icing. If they get past 3 months will get another set for spares.
  3. Looked too cheap to be any good. Thought I would throw a tenner at it to see anyway. I have been running these for a few weeks in bad weather and honestly couldn't ask for more. First time aero flat user, 2min fitting, no lift , no judder, nice clean wipe. Get a set for around a tenner posted you cant go wrong. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT Edited to add price to title.
  4. Quite right matey, that will be going in next. The floor panels of the zed are very thin and rattly so sound deadening went in first to see what difference that would make. It did a good job but not as good as in the 350z. Sound barrier is def needed. I think it got about 2-3dB reduction so far according to my highly tuned iPhone app That's quite a lot. dB's are logarithmic in scale so the sound roughly doubles every 3dB increase or halves every -3dB.
  5. Where in NZ did you get rush hour traffic, Admittedly its been a few years since I was there but in 1991 I spent 6 months touring north and south islands in a Bedford van and hardly saw a car!

Done a few driving holidays on the continent over the years and worked in Greece for 6 months or so, go for it and enjoy, the feeling of having a car that's not sold in that country is great, its like driving the best supercar ever, the attention and respect you will get from other drivers will be immense.
  7. Have the films progressed over the intervening years. Used to be quite difficult to keep them. ( controlled atmospheric cabinets with humidity and temp limits ) otherwise the shelf life was days. I used to use a tank with a programmable automated lowering arm to keep the distortion down to a minimum, heated to keep the distilled water at the correct temp for proper film adhesion. I still have a few bits and pieces somewhere that are coated, 15 years old and still looking good. It was quite an expensive set up in 1995 The films were only produced by one company and the coating was under a licence agreement with a high nanual cost. The dipping process was subject to inclusions and hairs etc Much more difficult to keep clean that the spray booths we had. Good luck with the venture RT produces some stunning items when done just right.
  8. Used to work for a company who did this back in the mid 90's for Nokia, Motorolla etc. Part of Doncasters PLC - IVC Technologies. The company technology has morphed through an act of betrayal and theft (Not bitter at all you understand) into ACT in Oldbury/Tipton (Applied coating technologies) The boss man is a bloke called Yasin Zakar Have a word he may still be doing it.
  9. brilliant!!! Can you post the rest of the tour Got to be worth it!

  13. Just checked the forum and net to see if these would be ok with my 19" LMGT4's Seems they will be a bit big and will rub without rolled arches, especially if I lower it by about 20mm which is the plan at the mo. Good luck as that's a great price
  14. Thanks mate, That's stopped me wasting £20 on the wrong ones.
  15. Anyone know the type on pre facelift cars Should be D2S I think as they are projectors Can anyone confirm Please before I buy the wrong ones. Thanks
  16. Agree entirely Done about 400 miles on it and its very nice to drive. For all you out there whose Knob is too big! This also shortens it by about 1"
  17. My gear knob was looking a bit tatty. I wanted something which looked like it could be original equipment, but didn't want to pay £100's for an original. Got myself one of these. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-Leather-Ge ... 43a4e662fd A genuine Leather Nissan gear Knob (came in a Nissan OEM spares box) Fits great. Looks good. Great price. The bottom of the knob is recessed with a large counter-bore. Just put a tie wrap under the gaiter around the gear lever to hold it into to the bottom of the gear knob. Remove the plastic which normally clips in place. Jobs a good un.!! Cant do better than the pics on the link so wont bother.
  18. Got a spare hour or two today so did a trial fit of the 6mm spacer I cut a couple of weeks ago. Still waiting for 6mm and 8mm internal spacers to be machined from nylon , these are being done as a favour by a mate so I have to wait until he has time on his lathe, so I couldn't try it out with the engine running. The plenum spacer fits perfectly as I would expect as all the location holes are from the laser scan of the original metal gasket. I think I have added enough meat to the original gasket, blended out the profile around bolt holes and added meat where the plenum is wider than the gasket. Its not a perfect copy of the plenum chamber outline varying here and there by a mm or so but its close enough to look good and it will function with no problems. I fitted all the original bolts and tightened it up hand tight and it looks fine. Longer bolts will be used when fitted permanently. Just got to wait for the centre spacers and I will fit it properly and take her for a run. I am not sure whether to use gasket paper for the top of the spacer or to cut another thin steel gasket, the original metal gasket is 0.4mm thick which I can cut on the laser but we don,t carry in stock. The thinnest we go is 0.6mm, alternatively I could use a 0.4mm paper gasket, What do you reckon would be best all you mechanics out there.?? Don't suggest liquid gasket as its a pane to remove. Well on the way to a plenum spacer solution.
