  5. Ok It is a rip off of my last 5 cars post especially as on my last post in First 5 cars I suggested a first 5 cars list. ( With nothing over £100 allowed ) Anyway as you got here first as I was too busy here's mine. From 1979 onwards. Ford Anglia 1200 super Mini 850 Morris Marina Morris Minor Triumph 1300 TC Triumph Toledo Ford Capri Triumph Dolomite Chrysler Sunbeam Vauxhall Cavaliar MK1 Anglia cost £50 Think the most expensive was around £350 With this lot you definitely needed a Haynes manual and soon got used to taking out engines on the street, and having gearboxes sitting on your chest while lying on your back in the gutter under the car which was propped up on blocks of wood and tyres. P.S In those days a Haynes manual actually told you how to take the car apart and fix it. ( before avoiding litigation was the primary concern of the publishers )
  6. Just have to lift it a bit off the glass and slide the blade backwards. Then unhook it with a twist. A bit fiddly but it does come off!!
  7. I also learned that most of our members can't count! Yup seemed to turn into a last 3-9 cars owned thread. All good though!!!
  8. Have you done Alex's bedding in procedure.
  9. Took the bait. (only because I'm on 99) Status change please
  10. Saw the Bosch ones in my local a-z before I got these. Diddnt seem to be metal but could be wrong.
  11. Nearing the ton Wonder if I can get them all tonight
  12. Hey Guys thanks for the enthusiasm with this post. I have been reading it with interest. What has been apparent is that you youngsters don't know you are born. Us more mature members had years of shed after shed only getting into cars like this in our late 30's and 40's Lucky Barstewards Maybe I should start a first 5 cars owned thread. Anything that cost over £100 not allowed.
  13. With the initiative you have shown with this project I'm sure you will be snapped up by someone soon. Good luck with finding something you will enjoy.
  14. soapy water and sand paper
  15. You might eat your words one day, its easily done and not always noticable straight away. Things start to die over time culminating in most interior functions malfunctioning Dude, was just a tongue in cheek bantering thingy. Expected the Husky to bark not you to bite I will always be likely to have to eat both my words and my hat not necessarily in that order. The man who never makes a mistake never does anything. I make plenty and normally have a laugh with those laughing Hope my bits don't start dying off slowly as I did actually fit interior LED's last week !!
  16. Yup that sounds like them Wheel Smart, I spoke to an asian guy but didnt get his name. I will give them a go as I really need something doing to bring the wheels back to best. Kurbed wheels are NOT
  17. Especially as the Newport Road is the Back Entrance
  18. Shouldn't be that hard mate, looks like its a dusk/dawn sensor which needs fixing where the light can get to it probably in the corner of the dash facing the screen then a relay/control box to get wired in parallel to the lighting switch. Hardest part is probably going to be taking the dash to pieces to fit it, and concealing the wires to make it look neat. Don't really know how you can break the lights unless you short or earth something you shouldn't . However I have read that certain dog lovers can take out a power module by changing an interior bulb. Might get one myself Although on reflection, I have an auto window wind up on door lock kit somewhere, a digital taco kit and some other kit of electronic bits which I cant remember what it does . Oh and since yesterday a mirror foldy thing on its way for £30 Maybe I wont get one until the other bits are fitted
  19. Up for that boys whenever you are. Cars a bit filthy at the moment and have some more bits ready to go on but should be presentable soon. Anyone local tried the new wheel refurb place on the Sandon road Hopton, quoted me £40 per corner for rubber off respray re laquer rubber on and balance. Only problem didn't have examples of finished work, said they were all back on the owners cars.
  20. Glad you guys are happy. Mine are great, Cant believe how good they are for the money. Couldnt get any pics up yet for jetset. Been raining Any one else got any to post???? wont mind Honest
  21. must be a postcode thing or something . Anyway my garage is now a utility and office since the missus had her way
  22. I would have thought after losing the back end the first time, you would have got the message that maybe your driving style wasn't suited to the conditions and switched the TC back on rather than carry on until you lost it again Think of the consequences if you lost it totally and took out another car or pedestrian Irresponsible driving IMO Have waited 3 months since having the car to take it off. Empty straight road, no houses, no lamposts, no people , no cars, 1/2 mile visibility. Lost it may have been a little exaggerated for what happened, maybe squirmed would be a better description. Got to find out sometime what happens when it does go all loose at the back. Responsible driving IMO
  23. Took the tc off the other day for the first time on the way to work Lost the back in second eased off changed up lost it in third Eased off changed booted again in fourth Put it back on Diddnt go over 4k RPM cant wait for better roads with no slime or salt
  24. Let me know how you get on, always good to get a second opinion Gave the bloke good feedback but with stuff like this you dont really know for a few months
