  1. im not sure on universal clamps but got genuine used UK 350z ones from Alex on here, I fitted it myself pretty straight forward IMO a couple of big connectors for fuse link and a few bolts to undo and redo up for actual terminals, if your not comfortable with that though definately get an auto electrician to do it or your local trusted garage ,
  2. ive done this on mine alex on here might have some the uk battery is a tight fit but will go in. i got all the fuses etc with my clamps making swapping over a bit easier
  3. what power are you aiming at? do you have S/C fitted already? depending what supercharger you have you can get a trimmed one which spins faster than the original but I think that involves buying a different supercharger all together. As GM mentions the pulley on the Supercharger can be changed for smaller ones to increase HP (along with the belt) and this is most common method of extracting more power with what you have already got. The faster it spins the more chance of belt slip also so you have to take that into account and there is a support bar you can buy to combat this
  4. last time I did it I took a hairdryer to the badge to loosen glue and then got some fishing wire (or similar) to cut through the glue behind badge in places it didnt lift by itself and then took some goo gone (from Halfords) to the remaining glue and job done. There might be other methods that im sure will pop up below from others shortly
  5. Ain't that the truth! Ha ^^ this!! trust me on that one, first off dont spot a FRS there just one piece of it which is inferior on its own, good price but as you mention there is a lot of unknown
  6. Happy Bday buddy hope you have a good one
  7. Good call on traders above , I have recently torn my Achilles tendon and calf muscle and now in an Aircast boot for at least 6 months so debating getting the boot hydrodipped by one of the traders for christmas
  8. Dont leave the handbrake on leave it in gear, I always take the battery out and bring indoors and store on carpet or wood others may suggest a trickle charger of some sort, other than that I just leave it I check on it every now and then and generally have a procedure check when it comes back on road afterwards to make sure its not fubered itself while I left it. Im sure many will chime in soon on some other suggestions
  9. think it cos there made of paper and just disintegrate
  10. Theres a bit in the vortech manual at the bottom but not sure if its right box? http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/images/50.pdf
  11. One behind my house is an organised one happens every year and new year also, they carry insurance and when one landed on my zed few years back they said they "couldn't prove it was theirs and they carry all the serial numbers for there fireworks"...I said that was great but when the firework exploded it blew up where the serial number was so how am I ever supposed to prove where it came from?? my tough luck apparently
  12. Mine went straight into garage the other day and the subaru is tucked away also, massive display behind my house again tonight so know somethings going to fly over here at some point
  13. I have a Henry and a James and both get my vote dyson can do one imo
  14. where the hell does the driver end up thats a pretty big remote control car
  15. Hi I have back box and centre section let me know if needed, just realised your probably looking for aftermarket, i have oem
  16. I thought I would just add this build in here rather than start a new thread. Welcome to the Budget/What ever I can get for free... single garage build into a workshop type storage area With a moaning mrs and a stack of tools/parts/odds/sods and the zed residing elsewhere I have been forced to convert what space I have into a workshop. As mentioned I will never get near like some of the setups in the other Garage thread but can certainly do better than I have at the moment and still get half the car in at least to work on it if need be. (the pictures will get better I was in a rush today) So far with £100 I have the following An old table that slides back and forth and has storage hidden away inside, will use this as workshop table that a vice and other bits can get bolted to Not sure what its called but this thing below which can house all my bolts/nuts electrical bits and other junk. It came out of a van and slides but I dont need that bit 8ft by 8ft racking This was my best purchase so far and ideally will have one side for Zed stuff and one side for Subaru stuff (as im starting to mix everything up now) its pretty big but essentially gives me four 8ft shelves to work with So I started to put racking together which was a pain in the ass with such a confided space Managed to get 6 shelves up but as you can see will have to move my lighting now and pop a shelf on just under roof beam which allows for storage above the beam and out of the way. There is a wooden beam running the length of the garage against the wall which I will attach racking to and then bolt both racks together so it shouldn't go anywhere. Thats it for today but stay tuned for full racking install and figuring out how to put that table together
  17. check your battery terminals as well and make sure they are tight and battery is secure and not moving around
  18. wow some of these garages are awe inspiring.. makes me sick I though do count my lucky stars I actually have a single garage but not on my land so cant dig stuff up etc. the zed resides in my friends double garage now and him and his mrs wont let me dig stuff up either My mrs actually switched on me the other day about all the parts/tools/wheels and junk I have around the house (might of had something to do with the impending dinner party) but having seen this thread made me realise I need to turn my little space into a useable workshop/storage il get nowhere near the above and I have no money so stay tuned for a budget workshop build, Seriously though really impressed and some of you guys must be mega proud of the setups you have especially Keyser
  19. Id say so they are rarer then the Supercharged ones
  20. Ive had mine done recently and came to the conclusion that for relatively hassle free motoring and considerably cheaper repair costs compared to similar cars (depending what happens ) I went for it and absolutely love it, not fussed if I lose money on it down the line you lose money on everything these days. I did save a fair bit as I fitted a lot of bits myself so know where your coming from with the reliability aspect - I do find myself occasionally going - how tight did I tighten that nut and get out and go and check Can honestly say for the money ive spent and time put in there is not much post 2000 imo that has the power, or uniqueness of a s/c zed to make me think it was a bad idea. There are £40k cars that put out the same power as mine (maybe in a different way but still the same figure) so dont feel that hard done by I guess doing a lot of the build yourself gives you more attachment to the car so my view might be a bit more bias towards it. See if someone will take you in a spin in one close to you that will help you decide
  21. Maybe faulty gauge, cant see any of the mods having an effect unless something was missed during plenum install but would of thought you would have idle issues with that one, im sure Alex or someone will chime in with some thoughts shortly
  22. did you check or change oil when you first got it? have you done either since you got it?
