  1. Did these issues ever get sorted, as I seem to still have the same problem in IE10? Thanks
  2. If its a 2008 Mini, then it will be the BMW/PSA engine, same as in my other half's Pug 207 - we had a coolant leak from the plastic thermostat housing on that one. Try to look for crystallised deposits of antifreeze as well as wet patches - they will be a similar colour to the coolant, which is probably either orangy-pink or greeny-blue.The thermostat housing is just above the gearbox/clutch bellhousing on ours - follow the radiator hoses back to the engine - it will be at the end of one of them...
  3. He binned that at Molecomb bend on the FoS as far as I remember...but I might be wrong
  4. In case it matters to anybody, and for safety's sake, the above is not true - a lower gear is better, as the engine has more mechanical advantage over the wheels...
  5. Ian's probably fits better 'cos the template he uses is spot-on....
  6. +2, the gearboxes are always a little rumbly in neutral and congrats on the purchase, you won't regret it!
  7. Yeah, as Graham said, I'm gutted that I can't make Wales this year - but as ever work comes first.....there's always next year! Hope you all have a really great weekend. Must try to get along to some other meets to have a catch-up in lieu of Wales. Be sure to post-up lots of pics and vids so I can see what I'm missing Dave
  8. Only if they are already covered by another insurance policy for someone else. Just for clarity, I think the rules are that the vehicle must also not belong to you...
  9. To be fair, I'd have too much time on my hands if I had a gardener Nice project - can't wait to see the big V8 one
  10. You can get one from a Nissan dealer for less than £105...
  11. I have mine looked after at Westover Nissan - they are not the cheapest as others have said, but the service is good and they have always looked after me well. You could supply your own oils etc and save a few quid that way.
  12. Hi, I've just refitted my stereo, and noticed that when I use the panel light dimmer buttons, the multi-gauge (time, temp, mpg etc.) backlight seems to evenliy brighten as you adjust the dimmer up, until the last level of brightness when it suddenly gets a lot brighter - can anyone else confirm that theirs does the same? It is only the multi-gauge that does this. Also, the dimmer has no effect when the headlights are off, and the gauges are all on the maximum brightness. It could be my imagination, but I don't remember it doing this before! Thanks, Dave
  13. I guess we'd all agree with that in some way, otherwise we wouldn't be here...
  14. Just watched this, too - interesting article. I wondered about the running-in, too. I guess the dealers are covering themselves against warranty issues, but you can also easily use a new engine too gently and not condition the bores properly. I just want one even more now.....
  15. Thanks for the confirmation - stereo's out now, so I'll get on the phone tomorrow.
  16. Hi, I've just replaced my battery, and when I checked before, threads on the forum seemed to suggest that the Bose didn't have a security code, but that it was linked to the ECU and car VIN number? However, I have just changed my battery, and the radio now asks for a CODE. Can anyone confirm that theirs needs a code after the battery is changed? What info do the dealers need to get the code? Thanks, Dave
  17. I realise that, and I think you missed my point, which was that I think many people would be happier about the levels of tax paid if they felt the money was used fairly and provided a good service in return. Dave P.S. I for one have never complained about the actual amount paid for the tax, or the fuel consumption of the zed - In fact, I find it rather amusing that my insurance costs less than my tax...
  18. yeah, but you pay a great big lump of tax on that, too, and all you get in return are roads covered in suspension-wrecking potholes
  19. This morning, about 9am, on Queen Anne Drive, Merley - very nice looking in white
