  1. Time to start looking at Paralympic totty. Danielle Brown
  2. So I went and got caliper no:3 just to realise when i got back that one of the bleed nipples was cross threaded. So back I go and got another one. Stripped it down, split it, wire wheel and sanded it, and is now ready for painting. Also got my disc bells back from the powder coater's. So i can now re build these. I was trying to find new set bolts for these, but they are hard to find for some reason. So I have sat and wire wheeled and polish wheeled all the bolt heads. I then realised I had only done 23 bolts and not 24 that there should be. I lost one... Hunted around the workshop for a good hour as I have a tenancy to just put things down in silly places. Admitted defeat and went home to find that one bolt sat next to the calipers... Not impressed. So, just the one caliper to refurbish now, new bolts bought, bleed nipples and copper lines I'll grab this lunch time. Then just clean up yet another brake hose, bracket etc. then I am there.
  3. BuddyClub Pro Spec III with a bumper tuck with the red fog lens removed. Earlier picture, before the aerial was smoothed etc. Same exhaust and bumper tuck though. Before the bumper tuck K1 (had it on all of 3 days before i decided it was shite)
  4. welcome Im sure you will modify it soon enough, we all do even if we don't intend too.
  5. They didn't even remove the old weights! WTF! We are based in Luton (Sundon Park)
  6. When I do tyre fitting at my place, we use a plastic clip trim tool to pull off old weights so that doesnt scratch the finish, then use buffsol/stick stuff remover and a cloth to clean the wheel and remove residue from old weights. We even have leverless machines, so we dont need to dig lever bars onto your wheels. Guess what I'm trying to say is not all tyres places are so pikey.
  7. £501 either that or just fit the wheels. they would look legend.....ary!

    Evo 8 Brembos

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/345mm-Evo-Brembo-Big-Brake-Kit-Nissan-350Z-350GT-Z33-350-Z-/200796901923?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2ec06d9223#ht_1031wt_799
  9. That's the thing. I even had to think which side to fit the bleed nipples on, so i was looking at the pistons trying to work it all out OEM brakes have different sized pistons too, you can see from the picture above. The piston on the right that you can see in that picture above is bigger than the left. The disc should if I am right in saying should rotate onto the small piston first. I'm getting another caliper so its not a problem, in fact I will have a whole spare caliper now, but I am just kicking myself for not noticing before.
  10. Nope. So after many moments thinking about which piston goes where when fitted to the car (i.e. does the brake disc rotate onto the small or big piston first) i actually even said to myself oh wait doesn't matter, they don't look handed... Only late last night after I finished I went FU*K! I have 2 calipers for the same side of the car! The brakes are meant to be handed. I was thinking I dont really want to give this caliper back in return for the correct side in tatty condition, so rung the guy not knowing what the hell to do. He said it was his fault and is willing to just give me another caliper for the correct side and has no use for the one i painted. So a bit more paint and another Brembo sticker required, then swap the new bolts and pipe etc over (I will make sure my spare is as good as the other two, i will get the spare parts when I am near the shops, no rush there) After which I will have a rather elaborate paper weight...
  11. I've not actually tested the bracket yet. They are 350z brembo adapters so they should be fine. I'll wait for one more guess then i'll say
  12. Nope, the pipework will be fine i'm sure, i have 19s after all and they're only 355mm discs. Sort of has something to do with that brake hose connector.
  13. Kicking myself.... Can anyone notice something about the calipers that means I cannot fit them too my car? I have spent a while fixing them up and never once noticed, I have so many times I had thought about it but didn't totally click.
  14. about says it all really, back of the car says "Built in Britain"
  15. I do indeed. made sure i kept enough paint for those, I even have the new brembo stickers ready and all haha.
  16. So i have spent the weekend working and sleeping, but found some time to paint, decal, and rebuild my calipers. I wont go into all the details, just bung up some pictures with a few notes. My painting station... Base coat on Oh, little bit of a metallic pearl coming on. Let the Brembo'ing begin Outside they go again for the 4th layer of paint, clear coat. Thats primer, base coat, pearl coat and a clear, all just for something you wont see most off... Then off to my rather elaborate workshop (okay its one of my workplaces warehouse/tyre fitting area) The new nuts on the rear were rather tight so a tiny bit needed trimming. New bolts and bleed nipples in, along with the 350z adaptors. Now time to bend and fit the cooper connecting lines. It may seem like a lot of detail gone into these simple brakes, but why would make all this effort painting them too look nice again then put the old hoses on? Wire brushed the pads to clean them up a bit. Copper greased then fitted. And the final product, just the discs to build up. But waiting for the centres to come back from the powder coater.

    Spacers

Not saying you should recommend TPI because you have not heard of them, that would be stupid, I was merely commenting on how because people haven't heard of them that they would instantly assume they are crap. Eibach are only well known due to being around a long time, bit of advertising and got there profile up. However when it comes to spacers I don't think there is really a one is better than the other brand thing. Just avoid any that are made in China. All the comments slating the Supaforma spacers were based on 2 things: lack of material under the nuts and the material they're made of. A 15mm Eibach spacer would have the same amount of material under a nut, can't be helped, 15mm to play with and you need a reasonable nut thickness. The second is Eibach make their spacers out of Aluminum too. You were all saying aluminum fatigues under the extreme heat, well surely that means so would Eibach aluminum spacers?
  18. i love builds like this. any engine plans?

    Spacers

Why is it everyone gets on the band wagon and says the brands they have actually heard of are the best of the best and they are all you should buy. What make's Eibach spacers that much better? Eibach make their wheel spacers out of Aluminum too. If you want to track a car don't run spacers, simple. I could easily imagine Eiback spacers doing the same on that GTR. Obviously if you had 30mm spacers there would be more metal under the nuts. so on and so on. blah blah blah. People need to learn to stop being brand whores. Simple. Has anyone ever heard of TPI spacers? I assume not, but they are an alloy/magnesium spacer that's actually finished in a decent black finish, (compared to eibachs lack of any finish what so ever), TPI spacers have ALOT of special little trick features eibach don't. But because you have never heard of them you would instantly assume they are crap when in my opinion they are probably better. The reason the ones above failed is probably due to them being so bloody thin, fixed on spacers should be as thick as you can fit. 15mm is too thin for fixed spacer IMO, especially on a car that big and heavy.
  20. Okay a little bit done today. Sanded down using various grades of paper, washed, dried and chucked on a little tape. then time to start the painting i guess. Chucked on some white primer this evening, I really wanted it on tonight so it can be solid for tomorrow and a little wet sanding, then hopefully the basecoat if not, more primer. random picture of braided lines. (took the picture to show a girl what i meant by 'braided')
  21. Not cheap but one word. Buddyclub. I have Buddyclub ProSpec III with de-cats hehe
  22. Obviously once i've paint these and fitted them, i need to paint the back too They are in good condition so should only need a light sand and de-grease
