  1. Was it just me or were all the wingers single? Either that or their partners did not want to be associated with them on camera. I dare say there is something else I haven't considered.
  2. This might be of some help: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/66277-interesting-forum-about-tyres/

  4. Much easy isn't it. I did find that I had some holograms left so I have gone over it with some Megs #80 that I've got spare otherwise I would have bought some Megs 205. It did the job just as well though. I do have some areas where I still have some swirls that I did not spot on the first go. I will have another crack at it this weekend. I also know why I still have swirls in these areas. I switched to a 4" pad on the rotary on the curved wings and used a 7" megs pad on the flat doors and bonnet panels and used the same technique on both. The problem is that you actually get less bite with the 4" pad as the angular velocity is slower than with a larger pad. So it simply didn't cut as well. However, using a 4" pad on a DA gives more bite than the 7" on a DA. Useful to know and therefore worth keeping the DA. I've since bought a couple of lake country wool foamed pads to try but they won't turn up till Monday. In terms of lighting, get yourself a 500W or 1KW halogen work lamp. Fairly cheap. They will certainly show up holograms and perhaps swirls too. http://www.screwfix.com/p/double-tripod-site-light-2-x-400w-240v/71555 or http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/clarke-single-500w-halogen-detailing-light-with-tripod-sta.php?cPath=21_60_63
  5. If you have the original wheel then it is easy to remove the buttons with the cable intact. Plug it in and try it out. If it works, maybe you can cut off all but the horn ground wire and then reuse the connector in your setup.
  6. Actually I am wrong again! It is the antenna for the handsfree phone option. The handsfree kit was originally designed for a Nokia mobile rather than over bluetooth. With so many people using newer phones over a bluetooth dongle, the antenna no longer serves any purpose.
  7. Serves me right for not reading properly! Could he reuse the connector, remove all wires except for the green one and plug it back in? I assume the clock spring is still attached.
  8. Oh dear. At least you be pleased not to have sold someone a porker!
  9. It's the GPS antenna for the satnav I believe. Even if you car wasn't fitted with satnav this is fitted anyway. The Bluetooth antenna is part of the blue tooth module in the glove box no?
  10. The green wire is indeed an ground connection but it is for the horn relay. Thus you have a relay to investigate too. I'll post up the wiring diagram later when I find it.
  11. And a quick search for "service manual" gives this: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/14133-nissan-service-checklist-where-to-download/page__hl__%2Bservice+%2Bchecklist
  12. It's in the user manual if you have it.
  13. Good grief man! An apron! Pull yourself together! An apron isn't going to protect your sleeves. I use a lab jacket. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-MENS-GREEN-ENGINEERS-TECHNICIAN-WORK-COAT-TUNGSTEN-WAREHOUSE-LAB-JACKET-42-5-/110991433439?pt=UK_BOI_ProtectiveGear_RL&hash=item19d79adedf Get one that has hidden fasteners so that if you lean onto the car, there is not metal to scratch it.
  14. Any degreaser is a good start. I've used gunk as it is readily available from halfords but seems nasty stuff. Now I would use meguiars all purpose cleaner or maybe valet pro citrus pre wash and a paint brush to agitate. I've used hose pipes and pressure washers in the past without bagging anything off to rinse off. I'm careful not to get it near the fuse boxes or ECU and I don't dwell over connections. Just a quick rinse.
  15. You listed enough negatives for any sensible person to walk away and look elsewhere. Be patient, one will turn up.
  16. Also people who have it need to ensure that they close the toilet lid before flushing as the flush causes it to spray into the air. Alcohol hand cleaner is ineffective but normal hand soap will kill it. I've heard its not soap that kills it but the washing of your hands and friction "gets" it off. Yes, that's right. Alcohol sanitizers will not flush the germs away but soap and hot water will. Then you can pick up a fresh batch of the bacteria when you reach for the tap to shut it off followed by the door handle of the loo!

  18. Tell me about it! I really want a workshop! Not a garage. A workshop! Ok I'd settle for a double garage. I've even been looking out for a small business or farm unit to rent. Cheapest I've seen so far is 65pw. But there is a lock in period, insurance, rates, etc etc. ho hum.
  19. Center console out job. Fairly easy to do. I think it is detailed in the iPhone hack guide. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/45398-bose-phono-ipod-hack-guide/
  20. Is the headlamp assembly securely mounted?
  21. Crikey. If that's your idea of ultimate lazy I must be positively horizontal when I was my wheels!
  22. Just cleaned my wheels today that I treated with Gtechniq after a week of daily driving and a 250 mile trip. Just used shampoo and a wool brush and they came up brilliant. Normally I would have used Bilberry wheel cleaner.
