  1. You can do this without removing the gear stick knob and just lift the gear surround up and rotate 90 degrees for access..Just make sure you use some old sheets or similar to protect plastics etc.
  2. The best way is the iPhone hack. It involves removing the Bose radio, opening it up and breaking a couple of track and soldering an stereo jack lead to it. Basically you are feeding the iphone line out into the cassette amplifier stage of the radio. You can return the radio back to normal later if you need to. Do a search for the ipod or iphone hack. There is a guide that shows you everything you need to know. I use a tomtom car kit with this and have wired the charger adaptor into the passenger side cigarette lighter socket (from behind) so that it is all hidden. Jim
  3. Why not use your iPhone for satnav ( I use Tomtom) and iTunes as well as cameralert (speed camera database) and leave the radio and satnav cubby as they are?
  4. Actually I also got some quotes for my wife's Jeep. That's come down by £60 too!
  5. I've actually run some quotes through gocompare with everything except the plenum and it worked out at about £350! Less than I paid for last year! Perhaps they have a year end sales push going on.
  6. Got a milltek on the car on Saturday. Thanks Kevin (bsled). Also got it fitted at the cougarstore. Thanks chaps. Sounds grrrreeeeeaaaatttt! Also got it added to my admiral insurance at not extra cost! Thanks Admiral India call centre computers for crashing! I asked about the premium increase, he said the computer just crashed and he would waive the admin charge. Mind you I renew in March so I guess it will start to hurt then. Especially when I add a plenum spacer, Berks HFCs and an up rev remap.
  7. Crickey. I guess you haven't worked out what he meant by Andrex and smear free yet. Starter for ten - nothing to do with windscreens!
  8. It's a tracker! Big brother is keeping an eye on you.
  9. I like it! How about this one... Two fish in a tank. One says to the other, "Do you know how to drive this thing?"
  10. Look on the bright side, you had the Police on the scene and perhaps a witness in themselves.
  11. Nice bolt set. Full details to get my own please
  12. Plus I already have TomTom for iphone/ipad and CamerAlert.
  13. I can't remember how it looks. Will have to take it off and have another look.
  14. Would it? Would you not make one to the same footprint of the existing strut bar plates so it would be flush to the outline of it?
  15. Has anyone considered making a one piece anodized aluminium spacer to fit the strut bar for the plenum spacer mod instead of using the washers supplied in the motordyne kit? Can anyone on here do it? What would it cost? Jim
  16. What does the panel think? Will an iPad mini fit it the satnav cubby of a 350z?
  17. I'm doing my best! I'm happy to offer the olive branch in the hope of peace on earth, goodwill ....etc. I draw the line at the mistletoe though! Indeed you are sir! Good on you. I wish I could help but the mods to your car are way above my station! Good luck!
  18. Come chaps. Kiss and make up. It's nearly Christmas.
  19. Opie oils are good for service kits. Oil, filters, plugs, coolant, brake fluid. You might also want to consider replacing both alternator and air conditioning belts too. Very easy to do. There are plenty of guides on here that will show you how to change the plugs and I've posted some links to an invaluable long reach magnetic plug socket somewhere. Feel free to ask any questions. There are plenty of us on here who do a lot of their own DIY. And don't worry about grumpy DBlock
  20. The only silly question is the one that isn't asked! The answer is.... Dunno.
  21. no stone chips - I've thought of that ....but wasn't sure ??? Andrex paper towels ? - have used AG lint towels and cleaned off with microfibre That must have hurt!
  22. Reminds me of another "joke" about women and weighing....
