  1. I did this a few weeks ago. Two full turns. Passed MOT this week.
  2. You don't need to go to a dealer to service your car during warranty period - and that's a European regulation. http://www.thecarexpert.co.uk/new-car-warranty-servicing
  3. If that happened I would not get rid of my Z. In fact I would be even more motivated to by a 370z!
  4. Which is also taxed heavily. Also the car itself will have vat to pay. Adding more tax showroom road fund licence is about as appropriate as pulling out your finger nails after kicking you in the teeth.
  5. Same here. Also I can't tell any difference between the two settings. My jeep seats are really toasty though.
  6. Cheaper than some waxes. http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/gtechniq-c1-crystal-lacquer-30ml.php?manufacturers_id=72 Never used it myself. http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/exterior-coatings/c1-crystal-lacquer/ Says for professional use only. I would do extensive reading before using as this stuff can't be removed easily.
  7. It lasts far longer than a wax. 5 years if applied by a dealer. 2 or 3 if self applied.
  8. Surely unless he hit a parked or stopped vehicle he is unlikely to have suffered whiplash? You were both moving in similar directions so the combined speed of the collision is likely to be relatively low.
  9. Don't they dim over time just like any projector bulb.
  10. 1, 3, 4 and 5 can be done all in one hit. Get tomtom for iPhone. That gives you satnav and vocal directions. Also get cameralert for iPhone with subscription for weekly speed camera updates - also with voice alerts and works with tomtom running. Get a cradle with line out (Magellan/Mio) do one similar to the old tomtom one. Now wire the line out from the cradle to the radio using the iPod/iPhone hack guide found in the forum. Now you can have iTunes, hands free calls, satnav and speed camera warnings plus traffic alerts all in one small portable package. You might even be able to get the iPhone to be a front facing camera as well.
  11. Maybe not. But Canadians outsource software development just like everyone else.
  12. But "going out" means lights out permanently surely? Then who gives a hoot about the law then?
  13. Kerbed wheels aren't so bad but the different tyres on each wheel does indeed say a lot.
  14. They look ok. From their website: All hires are agreed with the at-fault insurer prior to the release of the vehicle which removes the client from the potential pitfall of credit hire whereby they could be potentially liable for the charges. In addition (were applicable) we will also arrange for the at-fault insurer to authorise the repairs to the clients vehicle negating the need to pay any insurance excess and the intervention of a solicitor.
  15. Oh, you'd be surprised. Get into the defence, law enforcement or national security arena. That stuff is generally home grown and not outsourced for obvious reasons. Bot for general public I agree.
  16. Not these people? http://www.motorpoint.co.uk/finance
  17. Hmm. Saga really should be dealing with this. I'd give Saga a ring if I was you.
  18. Ok, thanks for the heads up, any idea what I should be looking for in the small print? Or shall I just ask for proof of payment that the car hire providers should have from my neighbours insurance company? For a start make sure you are not signing a credit agreement!
  19. Zed fronts have the aerodynamics of a brick wall and attract stone chips. So you have had the stone chips done to enhance your cars value. just hope a potential buyer would see it like that but then again I have this thread as evidence and I will ask the resprayer to say on the receipt that is was reprayed for minor damage to the wing and the rest was for stone chips. Don't worry about it. As long as the job is done well nobody would probably notice. Besides, normally someone would knock you down with stone chipped bonnet and bumper in order to have the work done themselves.
  20. That seems odd. Why would your insurance company agree to insure a different and a hire car at that for nought? Something smells fishy and your insurance company will get a strong whiff of it as well in the process.
  21. Don't try to hide it. The insurance companies share details with each other. Also, the Porsche hire car. You will probably find that you will sign an agreement in that you are liable to pay the costs. Usually some sort of interest free thing if I remember correctly. Who is actually arranging the hire car? If it is Saga then probably ok. Otherwise beware as people have been left out of pocket when the third party's insurer refuses to pay on the grounds of the rates being excessive.
  22. Lesson learnt indeed. But what was he doing tailgating you? I assume it was him behind you? The other thing I find strange is the veiled threats. They can't know exactly what speed you are going if they are following you in a car. I believe the speed that would be recorded would be their speed. If he is only recording whilst you are braking then I suspect the evidence would not stand up in court. Still. No excuse though.
