    Yes to the tube. To remove wiper pull wiper from windscreen as if you are cleaning then it pulls free easily.

    Doesn't sound like battery. My aftermarket immobilser will not allow car to start if, when unlocked, I leave it for a minute or so without trying to start it.

    Meter will read 14v when running. When it doesn't start do you get any noise at all - in other words does it try to start?
