  1. Good decision Maybe you should consider a SC'd Zed for a bit more ?? It would be the familiar car you remember and are obviously fond of, but with more to keep you interested. The extra poke might help towards it not feeling too much of a 'backward' step.
  2. Really Money grabbing "^&%$£*s
  3. My last few cars have all sold on either a forum (free), Pistonheads (free), or ebay classifieds (free I think)

    New wheels

ArmorAll Tyre foam. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_255235 Probably been using it for 10-15 years now. I've tried a lot of others and keep coming back to it. Just spray it on and walk away. (and you get to see what your car looks like with white-wall tyres for a few minutes )
  5. All of whats been said above is good advise. Definitely soak the nipples, the pipe connections and the nuts/bolts a few times/days before you do the job. You will need a brake pipe/flare nut spanner it will make the task much easier - http://reviews.halfords.com/4028/470112/reviews.htm Have some new replacement nipples ready, as there is a very high chance of you knackering a couple. Once your brakes are in bits its hard to go shopping. A plumbers blow-torch is worth having to hand to heat the seized nipples. And take your time removing them, work them backward and forward a bit at a time, and you shouldn't wreck the threads in the calipers. When bleeding - the two person method works much better on these brakes then any other, so save yourself some time and fluid by doing it that way in the first place. If your going to the trouble of changing the lines, then you may as well do a complete fluid change while your there. Motul RBF600 is great stuff and makes a big difference, so definitely worth investing in. As said above make sure the back of the caliper where the lines connect is clean and flat or the washers may not seal.
  6. I was gonna say/ask that. And what plugs did you go for? Can't make out from the picture what AEM gauges did you go for AFR and ?? Bet you can't wait to get it all in. You doing it yourself?
  7. I use Denso Iridium IK22 (2 steps colder) and have had no issues at all.
  8. Not been on for a while and just seen this.... Very good numbers Darren! So Has the just the Cosworth plenum given you the gains or have you gone to decats as well? I see your revs were up to 7k on that run so obviously that gives bigger HP but I'm interested to hear your thoughts.
  9. My guess is Chris That was my assumption as well
  10. Why do I never see these posts until its too late. Who's got it then?
  11. Very good numbers! Well done Mark and Abbey again. As jables said, definitely how they should have come in the first place. Such a dream to drive at circa 400hp, fast, smooth but still very predicable and easily controlled. It'll be 'our' 2 year anniversary this month and I still grin from ear to ear when I put my foot down!
  12. I have 2 x AEM wide bands and gauges these feed the Haltech - the stock sensors are now removed - get a CEL light from that. It seems to be the swap from the Haltech to the stock ECU that is the issue - maybe Yes it takes her from 650rpm to 900rpm idle speed. Cheers If its the stock ecu dealing with idling, surely not having any O2 sensors connected to it could cause an issue as it wouldn't be able to adjust the closed loop fuelling accordingly at low load/ idle? If your not running uprev on the stock ecu I assume you still run closed loop? Or does the haltech force it to run open loop?
  13. Cheers Chris. I appreciate the numbers don't tell the whole story and that the forged parts are for strength, I just thought the cams and headers may have bumped them up a bit. I assume it being fast to rev is a lot to do with the clutch/flywheel combo as much as anything else? I've been waiting for my clutch to give up since I've had it so can get a lightweight set up. Its amazing how close the numbers are between yours, Darren's and mine. Only a few Hp and lbft in it! Would be good to all get together at some point. Although mine is definitely a fast road car for occasional track use rather than a track animal like yours!
  14. +1 And I've been sat here waiting for a torrent of abuse, just prised 'em off the car and sprayed them with lighter fluid to appease people How about a group buy? Steve at RS? I've been tempted for a couple of years but never took the plunge. They definitely more aggressive if your car suits it. I'd be interested in a GB for good quality ones at the right price.
  15. Well done Chris. I bet it feels really good to have it back and on the road after all the effort! Good numbers, especially considering your plans to take it further. It will be awesome with Nos and Meth! However, Its very interesting to see that, at this stage, the built engine, lumpy cams, headers, etc.... have made very little difference, if any to the numbers compared to the Vortech on a stock block with the usual upgraded fueling, larger injectors, intake/exhaust, good tune etc.. What size pulley did you use in the end? 2.87, 3.12 or the standard 3.33? What boost did it hit? I hope you don't think I'm putting a dampener on it by asking, I'm just genuinely surprised that the extras haven't already taken it to another level.
  16. A damaged exhaust will cause a pop .Get it fixed then see how it is.
  17. Yeah, make the switch then you won't look like a girl.
