  1. Thanks for confirming Will. I've got a scanguage II so reading and resetting the CEL is quick and easy
  2. The work carpark has loads of speed bumps and I noticed this morning that my zed makes a squeak/creak/crunch type noise when going over them. I drive over them very carefully and at a slow speed so I'm not driving without care. This has been happening for a few weeks now but not on all days. I think that the colder it is, the worse it is. My car has now done 59k & recently passed it's MOT with flying colours. The noise seems to come from the front left of the car and my initial thought is that it's the front droplink on that side (looks ok though). The car handles and tracks well so I'm open to suggestions Thanks for any tips
  3. I've not had my Berks HFC's fitted that long but have noticed over the last two days that I get a CEL (P1167) not long after I start driving. Looking at the recent UpRev post (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=58709&view=next) it appears that other Berks equipped ZED's exhibit the same behaviour. In short, have I got anything to worry about? I've not got the car re-mapped yet but I'm guessing this will happen regardless of an UpRev remap?
  4. Hello and welcome from another GM Zed
  5. Fitted my Berks myself and some of the original cat bolts are a swine to reach and undo. A friend of mine works at a national garage chain and was able to let me use their ramps for the job (cost me a slab of lager). One of the bolts was a pig and thankfully one of the mechanics raided his toolkit and helped me remove the offending bolt. This was underneath the car and perhaps it's better to attack some of the bolts from above? Anyway, £50 is a good price to swap the cats for berks

    Neuton tyres

Before owning my zed I owned subaru's. My last Subaru was bought from a fastidious fellow who was driving the car on 19's. When I went to view/buy, I wasn't fussed on the 19's choosing to get some cash off the car and use the standard wheels, which had just been refurbed by seller & fitted with new Neutons. Now I wasn't that keen on the Neutons but as they were new I thought I may as well run them for a while and probably blitz them with the 330bhp of teh Impreza. Well, after several journeys over several months to and from South Wales to Staffordshire, in all sorts of conditions, I was surprised by just how good the tyres were....so good in fact, I didn't rush and put my falken shod OZ's on the car. Conclusion from me is that they are one of the better budget tyres BUT would I buy them to put on my Zed when the Bridgestone RE050's need changing...errr no, I'll be buying some more RE050's. The Neutons are good but not a match for a premium tyre IMHO.
  7. Ok so as promised, here are some pics of my new Prospeed Exhausts mid-section. What a transformation! The car now sounds like I want it too.....which is a couple of notches up on the "fruity scale" from the standard fit exhaust. The original DC Sports mid section straight pipes were sacrificed (not as planned but they cut them anyway). Nevertheless, I'm very happy with the fit and it sounds just like I requested
  8. Update Well I bought some 4 inch bungs but they are slightly too large for the 4 inch pipes on the DC Didn't fit. So, I've been to see an exhaust fabrication company, Pro-speed exhausts in Cardiff, and they will be fabricating a new mid section for me, with resonator/baffe/silencer in there. Charlie the owner said it would remove the drone I currently get and give a more pleasing sound (for my delicate ears ). Bonus is that I will still have the original pipes so that if I do fancy a change in the future, I can sell the DC with both original and/or extra pipes. My car is booked in on 14th Feb so bear with me and pics etc will follow.
  9. Would bungs sap the power (as well as the noise)? This morning's commute from South Wales to Swindon was interesting. On cruise, the sound was fine but even just a slight prod on the throttle and there was some droning coming into the cabin. Sounds like I'm driving a 12 litre V16
  10. Hello Chris, hope that's a sympathetic laugh mate Thanks for supplying the Berks by the way, quality bit of kit to be fair
  11. Yes, there are small holes at the base of both tailpipes Time to start PM'ing.
  12. No bungs with the system I bought....hmmmm, certainly needs them though. Ah well, got to see the funny side of things even if it makes me deaf.
  13. Well after removing the standard system and cats and replacing with a 2nd hand DC Sports + Berks HFC combo, I was shocked at how LOUD! the difference was. The DC sports system uses a duel pipe system (no y pipe) from the berks back to the DC Back box. The Back box has two inlets so I'm not sure if it's a full duel but bugger me it's loud. Now I'm 42 and I've done the loud exhaust thing back in the day and this combo verges into chav territory it's that loud. Now don't get me wrong, the combo certainly let's the motor sing but it may be a little bit too Sid Vicious and not Pavorotti so to speak Will the Berks get a little quieter when they soot up? If not, I'm thinking I should get some new mid pipes made up with extra silencers (the DC sports system has no silencers at all - should have sussed out it would be loud eh). Or, remove and sell on the DC Sports and get a Miltek instead. Anyone else surprised with the change from a standard system and what did you do if you...well....thought it was too loud?
  14. What, no electrical problems. My son's Clio 1.2 Dynamique (53 plate, 54k miles) has had the following problems; 1. Electric Sunroof leak Removed roof lining/sunroof and sponge gasket had perished. Re-sealed and re-fitted sunroof. Solved. 2. Windscreen Leak Remove dashboard, remove carpet and sponge sound deadening, remove perished original bond, apply new bond/seal. Remove external windscreen trim, remove old bond and apply new bond/sealant. Dry out interior, refit deadening, carpets and dashboard. Solved. 3. Springs. 3xcoil springs had snapped, (gotta love potholes). Strip down suspension and swap springs for new. Solved. 4. Rear light cluster not working. All corroded, clean up and re-fit. Solved. 5. Rough Idle / Loss of Power / Cutting out Removed and cleaned Crank sensor Removed all under bonnet electrical contacts and cleaned with contact cleaner Removed and cleaned throttle body Removed anti-tamper metal shroud over ECU connector (as this eats into the loom at it vibrates). Luckily loom not damaged. Check yours & remove now JetSet Removed throttle pedal potentiometer and cleaned. Problems solved. 6. Loose/Wandering steeringTRE's are ok, yet to check rack and Universal Joint - problem ongoing. Clio's are a nightmare, I'll never ever buy another. Rant over

  17. If it's NBS you're talking about then it's a good chance it is. Used to catch the train in to work normally, with the occasional run in to the office. Liked to try and park at the end of the car park near the 'multi story', near where they keep / kept the grit / salt / tractor Yep NBS and I also park up that end, you may see my 55 plate GM there on the odd day (there's also a black roadster there too). Note that some person did put a scratch on my tailgate a couple of months ago. Looks like they put something on my tailgate (to use as a shelf) and then dragged it off leaving a deep scratch. I was fuming but not much I can do about it. I try and park in the multi storey some days but some others just park so damn close I struggle to get in the car. Your zed looks great, loving the wheels and the nismo spoiler
  18. Is it your Zed I see in my works car park now and again (near Piper's Way?)
