  1. Hi, I have owned my 350Z GT since July 2011 and have put off selling the car for months as I love it so much. After much soul searching over the New Year, I am now reluctantly selling to buy a more economical and practical family car (Seat Leon ST TDI) that is more suited to a 90 mile a day motorway commute and travelling with our pet Viszla (who currently travels in the Mrs Audi A1). The zed is an accomplished car but it's wasted just plodding along in cruise at 67mph day after day, even though the trip computer is reporting 32.4mpg at the moment. I am a mature 44 year old, and the car has been pampered during my ownership. On buying the car it received a full detail from Peter Richards at Eclipse Auto Valeting, Swansea (www.eclipse-auto-valet.co.uk) and I have kept up the cleaning duties using the two bucket method, snow foam and Jeffs Werkstat products. The car is a 55 plate GT model with black leather heated seats. The original Bluetooth module has been sold due to the installation of the extensive in car entertainment system (more of this later). The original owner did not specify Rays so it runs on refurbished touring alloys APS Swansea, (www.alloyrefurb.net). These alloys are my summer set and are fitted with 2 x Uniroyal Rainsport 3 (front new) 225/45/18 & 2 x Bridgestone REO50A 245/45/18 (rear 4mm tread). I also have a winter set which are on the car at the moment, these are fitted with 2 x Kumho I-ZenKW27XL (front) 225/45/18 (rear) 245/45/18 (8mm tread depth). Winter set will be included by negotiation. The car was first registered on 21st December 2005 so benefits from the lower tax rate. Key points & Modifications made during my ownership are as follows; · Front Anti-roll bar, Lower inner front and Compression arm bushes replaced with Superpro Polyurethane bushes · Clutch (Exedy) and flywheel (Nissan DMF) replaced at 60k miles · Recent P3 service at 350Z Specialists, Horsham Developments · HEL Brake and Clutch Lines fitted · Replaced tunnel assembly brace (AKA the W Brace) with new refurbished and powder coated item imported from California (no rust) · Replaced main and aircon fan motors · DBA Brake Discs (6 x 6 wiper slot rotors) and Ferrodo DS2500 pads front and rear · Air box velocity stack mod · DC Sports Dual Exhaust system with custom added middle silencer by pro-speed exhausts Cardiff. · Horsham Developments Plenum spacer · Berks HFC's · Horsham Developments UpRev Remap (290bhp) Service History is as follows; 15/11/06 at 10616, P1 Service - Engine Oil & Filter by Nissan Rowstock Ltd 13/07/07 at 19400, P2 Service - Engine Oil & Filter, Air Filter, Brake Fluid by Nissan Rowstock Ltd 08/04/08 at 29252, P1 Service - Engine Oil & Filter by Nissan KJM Reading 12/08/08 at 36091, P3 Service - Engine Oil & Filter, Air Filter, Brake Fluid, Coolant by Nissan KJM Reading 14/07/09 at 45594, P1 Service - Engine Oil & Filter by Nissan W.P Lewis (Neyland) Ltd 12/11/10 at 49705, P2 Service - Engine Oil & Filter, Air Filter, Brake Fluid + Rear Diff Oil by Nissan W.P Lewis (Neyland) Ltd 06/07/11 at 51500, P1 Service - Engine Oil & Filter plus Alternator & Aircon belts (Gates) by Owner (Dean Bufton) 26/08/11 at 52500, Replaced both main fan and aircon fan motors by Owner (Dean Bufton) 29/01/12 at 58100, Fitted Horsham Developments Plenum spacer by Owner (Dean Bufton) 29/01/12 at 58100, Fitted DC Sports Stainless Steel Dual exhaust system by Pro-Speed Exhausts Cardiff 14/02/12 at 58300, Added custom Stainless Steel mid section muffler to DC Sports Exhaust (reduce noise) by Pro-Speed Exhausts Cardiff 25/03/12 at 59850, Gearbox oil replaced with Nissan fluids plus molyslip, Differential Oil replaced with Nissan fluids by Owner (Dean Bufton) 25/03/12 at 59850, Air Box Velocity Stack by Owner (Dean Bufton) 25/03/12 at 59850, Fitted Berks HFC's by Owner (Dean Bufton) 10/04/12 at 60000, Change clutch line for HEL braided line & clutch fluid (motul) by Horsham Developments Newbury 10/04/12 at 60000, Change clutch (Exedy) by Horsham Developments Newbury 10/04/12 at 60000, Change flywheel (Nissan Dual Mass Flywheel) by Horsham Developments Newbury 10/04/12 at 60000, UpRev remap (290bhp) by Horsham Developments Newbury 09/06/12 at 62500, P1 Service - Engine Oil & Filter using Shell Helix Fully Synth 5w-30 & Nissan Oil Filter by Owner (Dean Bufton) 27/07/12 at 63750, Fit HEL brake lines & brake fluid (motul) by Horsham Developments Newbury 27/07/12 at 63750, Suspension alignment setup by Horsham Developments Newbury 12/08/12 at 64000, Fit DBA Brake Discs (6 x 6 wiper slot rotors) and Ferrodo DS2500 pads front and rear by Owner (Dean Bufton) 12/08/12 at 64000, Fit New Rear Washer Pump motor by Owner (Dean Bufton) 23/11/12 at 69300, Fit two new Lambda Sensors by Horsham Developments Newbury 28/02/13 at 72000, P1 Service - Engine Oil & Filter using Gulf Fully Synthetic 5w-40 & Nissan Oil filter by Owner (Dean Bufton) 12/04/13 at 73750, Fit Super Pro Polyurethane Suspension Bushes (Front Anti-Roll Bar, Lower Inner Front and Compression Arm) by Horsham Developments Newbury 12/04/13 at 73750, Suspension alignment setup by Horsham Developments Newbury 25/04/14 at 82000, P1 Service - Engine Oil & Filter using Gulf fully synthetic 5w-30 with K&N Oil Filter by Owner (Dean Bufton) 16/10/14 at 86750, Suspension alignment setup by Horsham Developments Newbury 16/10/14 at 86750, Fit new W Brace (Stay Tunnel Brace) by Horsham Developments Newbury 17/12/14 at 89060, P3 Service - Engine Oil (Motul) & Filter (Nissan), Air Filter, Brake Fluid, Coolant, Gearbox Oil, Differential Oil by Horsham Developments Newbury 17/12/14 at 89060, Suspension alignment setup by Horsham Developments Newbury The In Car Entertainment system ......was configured and installed by a very well respected specialist, Sonic Frontiers (http://www.sonicfron...or-sonic-punch/) Links to pictures of the build can be found here (well worth a look); (https://www.facebook...85529557&type=1) The system comprises of equipment and accessories from Alpine, Genesis, Morel, DLS, Rainbow, Skinz, Chord, Supra, Audison and Audio Wave (full breakdown of the build is available for those interested). iPod and Bluetooth hands free. The A-pillars have been custom built along with the subwoofer box. Lee (at Sonic Frontiers) does not drill any holes into the chassis, he builds using existing holes and therefore the car can be returned back to standard BOSE spec in order to reduce the asking price. The build cost £2840 and obviously sounds far better than the standard factory BOSE install. It’s something I always did myself to my previous cars but Lee’s attention to detail and fabrication skills are first class. Just take a look at his BMW Z3 to see just how good he is. Other Details The interior is in very very good condition with no marks on the door handles or the center console (however the lower section of the console has been refurbed and is a slightly lighter grey colour than the top section), looks good to me though. The car has had no paint in it’s life and therefore does have the usual stone chips on the front bumper. The leading edge of the bonnet has a very light scratch and the rear bumper also has some very fine scratches that the detailer could not remove when I bought the car. Current mileage is 89,650 and this will rise as I do use the car as a daily driver. Original exhaust system and cats are also available to the new owner if required. A recent P3 at Horsham Developments means it doesn’t need servicing for some time and I will put a fresh MOT on the car within the next week or two as it’s due at the end of January. Priced at; £8750 including in car entertainment system, original exhaust and BOSE £7250 with standard BOSE system re-fitted (note that this will take several dry days to retrofit) Winter wheels and tyres & Cubby Garmin Sat Nav by separate negotiation. Photos Note : New photos to follow this weekend but here are some I have taken previously;
  2. I recently needed a W brace for my 350z and searching in the UK didn't prove fruitful. A wider search led me to California where a breakers was willing to ship over a W brace to me. They had two in stock so the carriage costs for the second one were minimal when added to the package. So, I ended up with two sun drenched, really solid (but 2nd hand) W Braces. There is very light scratching and surface rust showing but this is a really solid brace. I rubbed my brace down and put a few thin coats of hammerite on it (still not fitted it to my car yet though). Here are the pics of the brace for sale... I'm after £140 (including UK delivery) for this.
  3. I had a similar problem (see here http://www.350z-uk.c...-brace-options/) I managed to bag a couple of non rusty but 2nd hand W Braces from a supplier in California. I have one spare that I will shortly be listing in the for sale section.
  4. Hi Chris, What brand of tyres are included and how old are they? Thanks, Dean
  5. During the early hours of this morning, my alarm went off. This kept happening several times, even after disabling the ultrasonics, (key on/off 3 times & arm), until I eventually disconnected the siren in the boot. This morning, the dash top LED was flashing after I unlocked the car, so the alarm must have been triggered again (probably just flashing the indicators now as the siren was disconnected). In order to find out what is triggering my alarm, is there a way to find out what sensor has been triggered? I'll disconnect the bonnet switch later to remove that from the investigations but is there anything else I can try? Any thoughts on what I can do to find the root cause?
  6. Also guessing the price is north of £200?
  7. I'm not overly convinced with the Ultra Racing replacement's quality either plus it looks smaller. I wonder if Clarke/Tarmac etc would consider a group buy on these, got to be plenty of Zed's out there with W braces in really bad condition by now.
  8. Keith, As you are based in Gloucester, it may be easier for you to use Horsham Developments in Newbury for the work. Jez at Horsham replaced my flywheel and clutch a few years ago now and did a great job. They are my nearest Nissan specialist & I travelled from South Wales to get the work done. CS is also a very highly regarded specialist too so you have a couple of options
  9. Wondering if anyone has bothered replacing their crusty W Brace with an after market alternative such as this.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ULTRA-RACING-4-Point-Rear-Lower-Bar-Brace-Nissan-FAIRLADY-Z33-350z-RL4-1259-/271410271144?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f315013a8 While my existing W Brace could probably be refurbed with a wire brush and hammerite, it's definitely not in pristine condition. It may be easier for me just to swap it with the Ultra Racing alternative and gain some potential benefits by doing so. Anyone bothered to replace their W Brace for anything other than a new Nissan part? Thanks
  10. Mid west mate , about 45 mins north of Neath. I'm based in Neath. There's a few around here now....another gunmetal in Skewen and an Nismo Azure in the centre.
  11. Already gone mate sorry Ok, thanks mate, good luck with the house

    W Brace

Found this too, it looks like it will replace the W brace but it looks a bit...well...low quality (the product description is unconvincing too ). http://www.ultra-rac...ar-RL4-1259.htm

    W Brace

Been looking at aftermarket braces but noting seems to replace the w brace. Found this though; http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35/product_info.php?products_id=6037

    W Brace

My brace is pretty bad. Had a look during the mot last Saturday and I could pull chunks (not flakes) of rusty metal off. Its still ok but beyond a wire brush & hammerite session. I'll put a photo up this evening.

    W Brace

I'm after a clean and solid W Brace to replace the embarrassingly rusty one under my zed's backside.
  17. Do you have a W brace in reasonable non rusty condition (long shot I know - asking incase it's off the car)? Thanks, Dean
  18. Check and double check the oil level first. Hopefully it needs a little top up after your recent oil change.
  19. Welcome. I've always used Shell VPower or Tesco Momentum 99, nothing else. Plenty of threads on why 95 ron is not a good idea on here but appreciate your position. Invest in octane booster
  20. If your after a professional install, I can highly recommend Lee at Sonic Frontiers (based near Swansea). His attention to detail and fabrication skills are absolutely second to none. I went for the "sonic punch" install in my zed and it's bloody fantastic. http://www.sonicfron.../sonic-systems/ Some install pics on his facebook pages...
  21. Switching on the aircon usually starts one of the fans. However, to test the fan motors, leave your car idle (aircon off) and keep an eye on the water temp. If/when the temp gauge rises above the mid point the fans should have started. If they have not, give the centre of each fan a tap, with say, the wooden handle of a hammer. The tap should start up your fans....if they are faulty. You can either fix them (recent thread on here) or PM zmanalex for some replacement units. Good luck.
  22. I'm out as well due to spending too much money rebuilding an engine for my track car & getting it's shell sorted (de-rust and cage fitting).
