  1. I’ve been reading and searching the ICE section for answers to these two questions but I’m still unsure...... Q1. If replacing the Bose HU with a replacement HU with in-built Bluetooth, can you use the original factory Bluetooth Mic? Is the Mic input to the standard Bose obvious when you take the Bose out? Q2. If I replace just the front speakers (4ohm) will this cause me problems as the Bose Amp expects a lower resistance? There’s no confirmation on the Ohm rating of the standard Clarion speakers. Am I likely to damage the new components? I intended to replace the front door speakers first, then, as funds allow, the head unit, and then install a 4 channel amp, 8 or 10†Sub and bridge the amp to run 3 channels. Am I better off just saving up the £ and doing it all together? At least I can leave the standard wiring in place and re-install the standard setup when selling. Thanks for your help

  3. Had a nice chat with the 370z owner today and he confessed he got a little confused with twin air intakes and twin turbo. So mystery solved, it's a normally aspirated 370z That white paint really sparkles in the sunshine though, lovely.
  4. Collected my Zed yesterday and what a car I'm getting it detailed early next week so the pics can wait until then Only issue so far is a little rattle coming from underneath, only noticed it when pulling up at home (no rattle when driving at all though). I'm thinking heat shield or something exhaust related. Also has a little release bearing noise (foot on and off the clutch in neutral) which didn't show up initially. Saying that the car has done 50k on it's original clutch so I'm sure a new clutch and release bearing will be finding it's way onto the car in due course. Got the fun of working out what all the switchgear does now and working out what my modifications will be Happy and on
  5. What a fantastic looking car, well done that man
  6. Welcome from another ex-subaru owner (but still a fan of them). I had a classic and bugeye impreza, both running circa 330bhp and both went like a scalded cat. The zed is a different animal but it definitely an itch I wanted to scratch too. Enjoy your Zed!
  7. Thanks Daryl, although I've a feeling price may be a factor for me.......I've yet to pick up my Zed from the seller (private plate transfer taking ages) and I've got a list of things I want to do as long as my arm. Thanks to this forum, giving me too many ideas of spending my £
  8. Hi, The car I'm in the process of buying has a scratch on it's rear strut bar plastic cover...the silver piece with a chrome effect Z on it I've noticed a few boot interior plastics have been removed lately so hoping there's a mint one around that someone wants to sell? Alternatively, if someone wants to carbon wrap it for me, that's something I'd pay for too Thanks, Dean.
  9. My wife and two sons are now solid GIFFGAFF fans. Our costs have come down and the goodybag purchase stuff is really easy once you get into the swing of it. Every month you will get a statement showing you what you've used and if you would have been better off choosing a different goodybag etc. Coverage has been spot on and the free internet seems to keep being applied. All +ve here. Customer service also seems good even if it is via email or a forum community. So it's a from me. As soon as my Orange contract has finished I'm moving to giffgaff.
  10. That's great, thanks for taking the time to reply. Still waiting on the dvla
  11. Know that Jarv, hence using the winking smiley at the end I'm defo going to take a damn good look at that 370z the next time I'm given the opportunity
  12. Still waiting for my 350Z but the deposit has been paid I'm Dean from Neath
  13. Thread revival!!! Black-Hawk is referring a comment I made on Scoobynet way back when. A neighbour of my parents (who should be on here) has apparently got a unique (built in Japan via special order from Cardiff Nissan) 370z roadster. That's not very nice Jarvis, don't shoot the messenger When I collect my 350z & take it up the old mans, I'm sure the 370z owner will pop over. I'll be armed with my camera phone and get him to pop the bonnet of the 370z for a look.....all should be revealed....or not.
  14. Unfortunately this has now changed (probably due to red tape and politics) so it has to be done the slow way (1 - 2 weeks at best now). Still, at least it will give me time to think about what "enhancements" I can make, now where's the search on this forum
  15. It's this one "click me", situated just north of Narberth, near Maenclochog. While we are getting all local, any good petrol stations in Narberth or East of Narberth to fill the tank with super unleaded for my journey back to Neath? As for the plate situation, I've decided I'm going to leave the seller sort it all out first. The car is on a smallholding that I couldn't find with directions and a satnav so I don't think the miles will rise too significantly. So what have you got ioneabee?
  16. Thanks for the info Ricey. I think I'll investigate doing a straight forward sale initially & see if I can transfer plate onto their other car myself with no extra costs incurred by me. Don't really want to pay a deposit and sit and wait for 2/3 weeks while the paperwork is sorted...hmmmm. Time to get searching the internet and see what's what.
  17. does this one have an aftermarket exhaust system on it ? I think i saw it in Carmarthen last week - but owned by someone living outside Haverfordwest ? No it's totally standard (at the moment ) but is based near Narberth.
  18. Well ownership is one step closer this evening. The owner of the car I went to view called and accepted my offer Just got to HPI it and sort out a deposit now, then they will remove the private plate and I'll go and collect. Not sure how long this will take but hope it's quick (Bet DVLA will take ages to process the V5).
  19. I'm based in Neath Ian. Thanks for the welcome guys @LordGrover. I don't think I've seen any Newport based cars in my search so far. I've been looking on here, pistonheads, ebay and autotrader. Am I missing any other popular websites for 350Z hunting?
  20. Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been thinking about buying a 350z for a few years now but ultimately had to scratch my subaru itch first. After two years of ownership, I sold my Subaru last week so am now learning as much about the 350z as possible. 350z's seem thin on the ground in South Wales and a scan at the classifieds reveal no sub 50k gunmetal GT cars within a reasonable distance away. Saying that I did view a nice example in Pembrokshire yesterday but am concerned that the brake disks have quite a lip and maybe due a change soon. From reading the forum, new disks and pads can be quite expensive compared to other marques? The car had touring alloys and not rays, no sat nav or parking sensors but did have bluetooth. I've made an offer i light of the fact it didn't have the desirable extras so will see what happens. Looking forward to 350z ownership
