  1. http://www.aviaspeedshop.co.uk/services.php in Bridgend have come up in conversation on Pistonheads, so I was going to give them a go when I need my zed looking at I've not used them personally and the last time I had a full alignment done (other car) it was at Powerstation in Tewkesbury.
  2. This pic; [ @CS Do you stock this particular wheel and can you PM me a price? Thanks for the quick ID DoogyRev
  3. Loving these wheels , anyone know what they are & what size etc?
  4. I kinda asked for that eh
  5. It's a Clio not a Megane Sterling effort Jarvis. Takes me hours to wash my car properly let alone getting the paintwork better than factory. Amazing results mate....if you fancy a go on some gunmetal let me know In fact, I may need your services in the not too distant...looking at some paintwork doing

  7. Can you expand on this please? Are you saying that you can "fix" the duff motors by using a needle file to file down something to ensure the brushes move more freely? Can't be that simple can it or it would be all over the forum?
  8. Pretty sure this is the fan motors. Start the car and let it run for several minutes. Tap the centre of the fans (where the motors are) taking care to avoid the blades. If the motors are at fault they may well start after a sharp tap. Alternatively, start the car, put the aircon on and tap the passenger side motor to see if it starts. I think the fan always kicks in when the aircon is on regardless of water temp. My local dealer wanted £700 for the replacement fans, Zmanalex got them to me far cheaper. Fitted them myself, it's an easy job. I kept the old motors and will investigate re-conditioning them at some point, even though they are sealed units. Good luck.
  9. from Neath Car looks very very clean. I also prefer the look of the current alloys to the Rays. One thing I'd advise.....not just to you but all new & soon to be zed owners.........leave the car running to make sure the rad fans cut in. Better to find out now that the fans don't work instead of when stuck in traffic on the M4 (you can guess what happened to me ). The aircon will trigger the fans so make sure it's off when testing. Enjoy the new smooth power delivery and RWD fun
  10. Thanks for the tips Wilks There certainly seem to be mixed reviews on the web about all of the campsites (worse reviews are the official circuit sites which I'm avoiding at all costs). Elephant was overcrowded last year apparently and Camping L'eau Rouge is a little noisey with limited food. I'm happy to rough it anyway and get involved in the party athmosphere as that's what it's all about. Expecting very early starts, especially on race day. I've only ever been to Silverstone for F1 last year so have now got the bug after watching on TV for years. Rallying is usually my thing but the noise and speec is really something else.
  11. Update. Jez (at Horsham Developments) had a quick look at my bushes and droplinks while my car was there. Front droplinks were knocking so needed replacing and bushes looked ok. Jez didn't have them in stock but sent them to me a few days later . Depending what I've got on my plate this weekend I'll fit them and update this thread.
  12. A group of my friends & I are planning a European road trip this summer that coincides with the F1 GP at Spa Francorchamps. We will be camping there for four nights so wondered if anyone here has done this trip before and can give us any hints and tips etc? Can anyone recommend a campsite that’s within walking distance to the Spa circuit (30 minute walk away) and has clean showers and toilets (and still clean after 4 days)? During an initial Google search, “Elephant camping†has come up as has “Camping L’eau rouge†but nothing beats personal recommendations. We’ve got general admission tickets, so any spectating tips would be great too.
  13. I've just had my flywheel and clutch replaced at Horsham Developments. I too am off to Europe towards the end of August and was concerned about clutch life as my car has just reached 60k. According to my service history my car was on the original clutch and flywheel. However, I did notice slight judder when moving off in 1st gear so suspected something wasn't quite right. I bit the bullet and got a new Nissan flywheel fitted and Exedy clutch. The long and short of it was that the clutch plate that came out looked fine and may well have been changed (but not documented in the history) at some point. The flywheel was the original and was showing signs of hot spots on it's surface (hence the judder I guess), so ultimately the combo would have probably lasted me many more miles. However, I'm glad I got them changed as the gear change is now so smooth that I can tell that the original setup was compromised in some way. I didn't really want to be stranded in Italy, being faced with a big bill from an Italian Nissan dealer for a clutch change so I paid up but now have a great gear change and piece of mind (and proper documentation for my service history). Good luck with your euro trip. Please feel free to PM me your route as I'm in the early stages of route planning myself
  14. Just wanted to publicly thank Jez and Carl for looking after my 350z during it's stay with them over the last couple of days. - Exedy Clutch & flywheel changed - Clutch fluid replaced and HEL line fitted - UpRev mapped All sorted with minimal fuss Easy to find, nice guys, clear advice, great service, what more can you ask for
  15. It's the little feckers that drive within an inch of your back bumper that wind me up . I normally just carry on and ignore them BUT if they persist I get slower and slower just to let them know, I know they are there. Slow is good
  16. The only thing I can add is to try and listen to an exhaust when running at 2000-2500 rpm on the motorway. An exhaust can sound fantastic at idle with the odd blat of the throttle. When on the motorway, that's when you can find out if you can live with LOUD. There's loud and FLOUD Just my 2p
  17. The dipstick design is poor to be fair. What I do is take several readings, wiping the dipstick clean each time. Eventually the extra blobs will go and you will get a consistent reading. If it's on or below the "L" then add some more oil asap
  18. Thanks guys, my zed is off to see Jez at H-Dev for some tweakage
  19. I've got some generic 4" exhaust bungs that I was going to use on my DC Sports (ended up getting an in-line silencer fitted instead). to let you know, I've cut an inch off the length of one of the bungs to stop it fouling on the inner pipe of the DC. They've not been used, just test fitted (well one of them was). I don't want much for them though, say £20 delivered? I can send pics with username and date to you on the weekend when I'm back home, let me know?
  20. I've got a dilemma. Ever since owning my Zed (51k miles - now on 60k miles) it has had very slight clutch judder when setting off in 1st gear. This summer, I'm planning a Euro trip in the zed and would not like to risk having clutch or flywheel problems out in Europe (thinking it would be a trip to the nearest Nissan dealer and 2nd mortgage time). So, as my car will be going into a specialist for an Uprev remap and a few other extras soon, should I just take it on the chin now and get the clutch and flywheel done in one visit? Thoughts and opinions welcome
  21. I just said "What a f_cking c_nt " out loud when I saw your pic. I'm not a violent person but god help the person found doing this to my car. Absolute scum some people today. Probably some low life sponger who thinks the world owes them a living Sorry I cannot offer any positive advice but hope you can get it sorted soon at reasonable cost. Is there such a device that uses a proximity sensor to film outside the car from within? If not, there should be as at least you'd know what the bastard looked like and could either arrange for the rozzers to sort it or make your own arrangements. I've had a bad day so apologies for my rant on this rant thread.
  22. Thanks for the info Dave, UpRev will happen soon
  23. Thanks Mike, I've changed the bushes on my old honda crx so know it can be a pain. I'll take a damn good look at it over the weekend and prepare for the worst
