  1. Could stretch to £25k for a keeper. Nothing too old. We're not the type to change cars often. Wife's had the mini 5yrs from new and is really sad to have to part with it. Before that she had a 306 for 10yrs and only sold it when I got the zed and we discovered the joys of AC and heated seats.
  2. Currently the wife has a mini with baby seat in the front. New baby arriving in april. With a bad back hauling either in and out of the back with only 2 doors doesn't look good. First thought was to get her a 4 or 5dr impreza, but would worry about undesirables carjacking or driving recklessly around her looking to race So, anyone got 2 sprigs with experience on what car to get? We've managed for 2 1/2yrs with her mini so have no experience of anything with a boot . Don't even know where to start. Is a golf sized 5dr ok? 4dr saloon? Estates?
  3. Would a sunset be allowed to join in this Azure welcoming KK meet BTW....good luck with the deal. Don't know many people with such a focused plan on getting back into 350z ownership
  4. I'm the complete opposite to a weekend driver. Use mine for the daily commute saving my other ride for the weekend. Mini Cooper rolling on 15's Can't fit wife and kid in the zed
  5. Congrats from a fellow sunsetter
  6. Spotted 8pm ish. Aftermarket wheels. Nice and shiney Was in the Mini so didn't wave at you.
  7. I say keep it if you can. If on paper it's worth peanuts come time to get a merc, use said "peanut" as a track toy or THE GREATEST SHED ON THE ROAD when you are scared of parking your newer number 1 ride in supermarkets etc. If you can afford it, you got the rest of your carreer to make money, but the years of youth fly past in a blink of an eye and you can't buy them back
  8. martinmac..... Southern Lake District Unabashed - Northwich AK350Z - West Cumbria HEADPHONES - Manchester
  9. Future classic zed threads will include remarks like "NEED'S STANDARD 18's AND RAISED SUSPENSION"
  10. I'm sure camskill will be cheaper Stupid question but why are the tyres so expensive? Don't other manufacturers make a more affordable alternative?
  11. On a serious note. Purified water in a bottle. When parked up wet the bonnet. Cat's don't like sitting on WET cars
  12. For the rust try Aquartz iron cut/ ironX Dissolves rust like tardis on tar Had a try myself. See thread viewtopic.php?f=22&t=41303&hilit=aquartz

    SPEED BUMPS

Been driving a V1 kitted zed for past 5 years. Never scraped on a speed bump, but tiny scrapes a few times on underside of front lip going into some drives where the road dips as it reaches the kerb then that kinda doubles the severity of the incline of the slope where the kerbs were dropped sloping upto the drive.........if you get my drift
  14. I really like night shots of the Zed I find it difficult tweaking the settings on my compacts limited manual mode especially in scenes with lots of different light sources, but your results look ace
  15. For a real in depth oil analysis for the 350z look up OIL ANALYSIS thread on my350z.com by RESOLUTE. After reading many pages I opted for Mobil 1 0w40. Despite being a 40 weight it is thinner than most 40s and closer to a 30. The 0w rating makes it lower viscosity on ultra cold starts than a 5w which is a good thing. Easily available at your local Cosctco for under £30 for 5litres
  16. I've got 19's on standard suspension and it looks good/fine to me......unless I park next to someone at a meet with a lowered zed A belated happy birthday by the way 19's would be a nice birthday treat to yourself
  17. Baby No 1 is 2&1/4 and mum is expecting another baby in April. Mum drives a drives a mini and me the Zed. Everyones betting that my Zed's days are numbered BUT I AM A STUBBORN GIT. We'd all fit in the mini with the pram with no boot space left. For a big family shopping trip we'd have to take both cars. Wife said mini ain't going So 2 cars is it is coz I ain't parting with the zed Together with all the detailing the neighbours gonna think I'm proper bonkers
  18. Great news. The both of you sound very laid back
  19. Feel bad for my 2yr old.........she doesn't understand where everything has gone
  20. How about something a wee bit 'retro'? You may be around same age as me and its already one of your staples....its 16 years old but can't beat Leftfield's LEFTISM album Can't choose a favourite track off the album its impossible Cheers Vik for the recommendation. Looked them up and recognised "melt".....Just ordered the album ps sorry for going off topic.......back to TRON.....put me in the mood for a good drive Saw 9.30pm show on Monday followed by a nice 1hr drive on the empty streets just for fun
  21. You have a very understanding missus there Wayne. My missus is getting fed up of me not using MY ZED and trying to borrow her car when it snows. She even started to talk about getting a third car/shed.

    puncture

I had the same dilemma last year. In the end I changed both and kept the part worn one in the garage in case of a future damaged rear.
  23. I see the numberplate retractor is still going strong. The front end looks real smooth and clean with the plate tucked away
  24. Hi dmc1980 If i ever need info on a scoob i guess you'd be the one to ask Been planting the seed in the missus' head to replace her car with one. Her brother's not keen though and reckons it's too fast a car
