Yeah they have a slit in. I found that if you buy the chrome cable in a size slightly larger then the actual cable then it wraps around perfect and forms a seal again. Then just twist it so the seal is on the underside. If the cable is too small it will stretch over the original and look pants. You simply open up one end and slip it over the top of the cable you are covering then work it down the pipe. No need to remove anything (except the engine cover if you wanna cover everything like I did - but most will be happy with just a few covered).

I have this on almost every cable in the bay Ive probably overdone it a little but I got carried away. I still have a load of it left over spare. Will have a look how much I have then post up on here.

Went to see this last night and loved it. If you liked the first one I dont see how you cant like this. As said above it is a bit of a cash cow in that it takes all the good bits and makes them bigger and better with more budget but how on earth is that a bad thing? All the bits you love about the film but just more of them and even better. Thats a plus for me. Id have been annoyed if they changed what was a winning formula with the first film It is long but again that to me is a good thing. When Im enjoying a film I never want it to end. And I must say its not long because of story line or sentimental tosh - its long due to so much more action and robots kicking crap out of each other - just what I wanted The GF did almost fall asleep though Will definitely see it again for sure and if you were a fan of the first dont wait for DVD - this has to be seen on the big screen for sure!

Yeah thats true - I can imagine results on the same chip differing immensely from tuner to tuner depending on knowledge and skill of the tuner. Fingers crossed for me anyway. Im just looking forward to being de-restricted for my track day

Is it safe for me to wash my car yet? I had new front and rear bumpers and new bonnet fitted 3 weeks ago with ne paint job. I cant wash the car at home so will be taking it to a garage with a foam lance. Ill take a sponge of my own for the delicate areas but Im more concerned about using the pressure lance on it. Any advice? Cheers

Yeah Id love to see that too. It seems that after doing all my research we are way behind the yanks as far as tuning goes. Seems like many people are put off by the lack of tuners that have specific experience tuning the zed in the UK. Mark and I are working with one on both our cars so there should be some good info coming the forums way in the near future.

Glad you got it sold mate. I heard Bullet Magnets at the weekend and it was really nice. Might keep my ear to the ground for another one coming up. Looks like there certainly enough interest in the Amuse should I decide to change. Cheers guys.

Honestly guys I found this the easiest mod ive done. Just be really on top of things when you have it in the oven. Put it in for a minutetwo then take it out and try to seperat the lense. Youll find it will part a little bit and the glue will stretch then it will get cold and stop. Put it back in for a minute or two then try again doing a bit at a time. Im sure if you put it in for the full time it would seperate first time but at least this way you dont run the risk of burning anything or melting plastics. Thanks for the guide - worked a treat

3FiddyZ was having a similar thing with the heat. Dixon at DMS said it would be sapping a lot of power and recommended heat shield wrap. Its easy to get and to wrap but it wont look very nice. If you are going for show then I would suggest upgrading to one of the alloy intake pipes......but thinking about it that would probably still get hot if your engine is having heat problems.

Well I dont like giving away exactly how much everything is costing but if Gary can do what he is planning and have the chip mapped to a base level for me at the cost he has quoted then my chip, zed harness, fitting and tuning will have come in under £500. If it gets rid of the restriction and gives me a torque increase and maybe some BHP Ill be over the moon with that.

Thanks Jon. Yeah Im taking mine to the same place that has been tuning and mapping Mark's Zed so they already have a base map. He has said that he will need it for a couple of hours to set the base map, make some adjustments and remove my speed restriction in time for my day at CAT. It will then go back at a later date (and regular visits after that) for adjustments and improvements. Im actually really looking forward to having it done. Hopefully soon 3Fiddy and I will be able to give solid answers to some of the mapping questions floating around for UK and JDM zeds.

Id have to agree with 3FiddyZ in that you should really sit down and ask yourself why you are doing this and why you want the power before going for it. I bought my Zed and got straight on the globally accepted list of basic power mods (exhaust, cats, plenum, CAI etc) without reading up about it first. My Zed now sounds absolutely awesome and Im sure it has a bit more poke when flooring it away from lights but Im sure when I get it dyno'ed Ill see next to no gains in BHP (again I could be wrong but the gains in BHP will be minimal for sure). The common adverts you read about an exhaust adding 15bhp and a CAI adding 10bhp (namely ebay sellers spouting that garbage) just arent true. Best thing you can possibly do is upgrade the suspension and brakes so that you can drive your car a lot faster. It wont be any more powerful but it will sure get you moving quicker then any basic engine mod will do for you. After that you wanna get yourself to CAT driver training for a day with Yoda. Modifying yourself and the way you drive is way more valuable then modding the car IMO. Good luck with it all and dont be put off doing mods mate - just be realistic with yourself in what you are going to get out of them. Do it for the noise, the handling, the looks and the feel instead of the power and you cant go far wrong.

Short RAMs fit all, Long Rams dont fit UK cars unless you remove the 2nd window washed reservior! Blimey now there is something I didnt know. Looks like having a JDM actually did make something easier for me, now thats a surprise
