Thanks for all the comments guys - it was really exciting to be part of the day and makes all the hard work and money worth while. Im not too sure on what issue it will be. I was told September but then on the day the guys thought it would be in the next issue so Ill be keeping my eyes peeled for the next couple of Months!

As you guys know, Davy (editor of Redline) came on here recently to ask for a Zed for their next feature that would be on the cover of the next edition. I sent my details along and was lucky enough to be chosen for the feature. I cant say anything about what the feature is about until the mag is released as I dont want to break any exclusivity rules. I just wanted to say what a great day I had and say thanks to the forum - if it werent for this forum I wouldnt be in a magazine (my first feature by the way) We spent about 8 hours at Santa Pod for the shoot and im burnt to a crisp - I had no idea how much detail went behind every shot and it was a real pleasure to meet the Redline guys and spend the day chatting cars with them. Heres a couple of pics I snapped of my car (those of you with a keen eye will notice that I put my legal plate on and relocated it in the mouth of the bonnet) while we were there but as I said nothing magazine based until the mag comes out im afraid. Thanks again to the forum for making this happen for me. Also big thanks to Beth at Raccoon for getting the wrap done for me at the last minute, thanks to CS for getting the car sorted and making it magazine worthy, thanks also to Sarah, Tony and Kevin at Envy for all the parts that have gone into the car and for being great people, thanks to anyone who has helped me along the way and/or provided parts for the car and a big thanks to Steve who came out at 6am to detail the car before heading to hospital for a knee operation - hope your feeling well mate

Thanks mate - thats my sentiments exactly. Price will really depend on what you go for. Whole car wrapped in a plain base colour will be much cheaper then if you go for the carbon Ive gone for. Gets even more expensive if you want chrome or gold but it would be well worth it. Give Raccoon a shout, ask for Beth and tell her Andy sent you. She can sort you out with a good price and if a few people have stuff done Im sure we will get a good deal. I didnt notice them until I uploaded the pics then couldnt be bothered to go out and clean it before taking more

A whole new can of worms indeed It is a wrap at the end of the day so if you damaged it or pulled it badly then it could peel but if you damaged your unwrapped bonnet youd need a respray, in this case you just get a re-wrap. Take care of it and it will last you years. Raccoon have really helped me out so Id love to send some business their way. If any of you guys end up getting in touch please tell them Andy sent you as it would really validate the effort they went to for me.

Thanks Mitz - Yeah Ive got a few from the Redline shoot that I'm putting up now in a seperate post mate. Will follow shortly Cheers Mark. Yeah I will eventually, along with the boot I think but Raccoon squeezed me in last minute and there wasnt the time to do any more. You just wash it as normal (can even use a pressure apparently but just be careful), you then chamois it dry. No wax or anything. Its the same thing that gets done on the SKY vans and they last years. Also when it comes off your paint is immaculate underneath.

Ive been in touch with Beth at Raccoon Vehicle Wrapping http://www.raccoon.co.uk/homepage.php for a long time now and finally on Tuesday I started the ball rolling on my wrap project. My bonnet is an Ings Vented Carbon bonnet that was slightly damaged so I had it sprayed black. But I had always planned to see if Raccoon could bring it back to carbon with one of their wraps.....and I am even more impressed with the results then I could have imagined. As well as being a cosmetic enhancement (you can have the whole car done in any colour or pattern you like) it also protects the paintwork underneath so its a protective measure too. I had my bonnet and wing mirrors done and I went for their latest carbon wrap. They did have one that was a carbon image printed onto laminate but their new one is embossed so it actually has a texture to it and it looks and feels awesome. It looks a lot like dry carbon in the flesh. The guy who fitted it for me said that you can spray a gloss coat on if you want it to have the wet look but Im loving it as it is. As you can see its a full wrap so unlike the carbon wing mirror covers this covers my whole wing mirror. The pics of the bonnet show just how talented these guys are as they managed to wrap my vented bonnet without a single visible seam!! Ill let the pics do the talking but I cant stress enough just how good these guys are at what they do. I know that Beth is interested in becoming a trader so perhaps you guys can get in touch and we could start seeing a lot more wrapping getting done.

Thanks Martin. Yeah it was a great day. Got a little sunburnt after 10 hours on the tarmac but it was wicked fun. I had no idea how much effort goes into those photos. Right Ill get started on the other post!!!

Mmm interesting. Look forward to seeing what you had done (massive 350z-uk decals? ) would have loved to mate. I asked redline if I could put some decals and logos on the car as the advertising would have been great but they said they would prefer the car without graphics for the shoot so I took everything off. I did give a thanks to all the forum users for all their help and support though, so that should be in the mag

It was me who got the call up for the magazine Got word a couple of days ago then spent Tuesday having a last minute wrap at Raccoon and yesterday at Santa Pod for the shoot so it was all very last minute. Was an awesome day though and it wouldnt have happened without the forum so I really appreciate it. Ill post up another thread about the day and I can post a pic or two of my car but I cant post any pics of anything else as Redline have exclusivity until the mag comes out. Thanks again guys - another post to follow

Thanks guys. Yeah Im confident at the fitting I just couldnt remember the attachment points. Sarah just sent you a message - if you can scan a copy that would be awesome. Thanks very much.

As some of you know I removed my grounding kit when I had those problems with my battery. Id now like to refit it but cant remember where all the cables go. Does anyone have the fitting instructions they could post up or email me? Cheers guys!

Yeah me too. In the big box just behind the handbrake. Mines just a plastic add on that slots in so you still keep half that box space. Sure someone on here would sell you theres.

CS Meet - Leicester - Saturday 19th September
Bundus replied to scottsoulby's topic in Meets, Shows and Events
Guess it would be rude for me not to make this event since CS did my entire bodywork for me. Ill be there bud! Im also well excited about seeing these RC drift cars going now - If anyone turns up with a load to sell im sure they'd make a killing -
Do the roadsters not have a drinks holder coming out of the passenger dash? Or is that just a jdm thing?
-
Oi You... Stop paraphrasing my pharaphrase!! Whoops I got busted using third party phrases Copyright infingment writ and invoice is in the post! In that case Im going to team up with Alex and countersue

Im not intentionally trying to put people off sourcing their own (I did it after all) but the hassle I had getting them shipped and getting the right sizes I just think the UK sellers are your best bet If anyone does want to take a look or test some out then Ill have a fair bit of it with me at Brands.
-
Yeah I wouldnt be put off by the criteria - you dont ask you dont get eh! Or as Alex says "shy boys dont get the sweeties" That would be a great idea to use more then one. Even if I dont get past the first selection phase Id just be happy to see one of the forum members on the cover. To see 2 or 3 would be even better!
-
Well Id rather the business went to our tried and trusted uk sellers. There is no wait time with them, no import tax, no postage if you collect at a show etc. But if you want to look it up then just whack "chrome split loom" into fleabay.com
-
Money's on its way to you mate - thanks for that
-
Check their criteria now though bud, sounds like they want pure function over form. +1, Kevs would be in with a shout with the engine mods, just not sure if the aesthetics are what they are looking for. I dont think the aesthetics would rule any car out as long as it has the required engine mods and was done for purpose as opposed to purely for looks. At the end of the day the car is going to be on the cover of a magazine so surely it wouldnt be ruled out because it looked "too" modified!?! Its just my personal opinion but whats the point of having a standard looking Zed on the cover of a mag even if the engine was a beast? There are plenty of gorgeous cars in the forum so Im sure one of them will make the cut - be great to see any members car on the cover of Redline thats for sure
-
Not sure what a current price would be as I bought mine last year. Had to get mine from the states as I didnt realise anyone in the UK was selling them at the time. Gaz or the Chilli's can quote you a nice price Im sure. Ill try and dig out my measurements that I took but from memory you will need 3 different sizes if you want to cover all the cables including the tiny ones. Ill bring some along with me on Sunday to Modified Live if anyone wants to test some out or measure it up
-
You beat me to it Gaz Anyway heres some pics of them in use on my car. Also took a couple of shots of the split in the cable and the different sizes I used.
-
I havent actually taken any since I fitted the cable covers but funnily enough I was out there night before last replacing a load of them for fresh new ones (they do look a bit shabby if they are constantly in contact with anything as the chrome colour wears off) so Ill take some new pics tonight and put them up tomorrow.

Hi mate welcome to the forum. Just emailed you - pick me, pick me, pick me
