  1. Is that the low rise version on Shauns car in the pics? Looks much higher then the one on the intensepower website here: http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/ntnsracing_2073_391185096 Lovely looking project that one - loving the front quarters.
  2. Cheers Taddy That looks awesome on your car. The black tints on the black paintwork look superb. Im not sure it would look so good tinting the indicators on my blade zed but ill definitely give it some thought. Thanks mate - im loving the ings kit too. Just think I need a wing now
  3. Ahhh fair play. The light tint you've gone for is nice. Really does take the edge off with the red lights - especially when our paint schemes are predominantly silver and black.
  4. I like both of them mate. Looks like you got a really good shine to the lights in the first pic. What was your final stage after applying clear laquer? Did you use some gentle cutting polish or just wax them up? Nice work!
  5. Yeah they do look much better in the flesh as they have a shine to them that I couldnt pick up on my camera phone. Ill try and get some better photos up tomorrow but Im sure they still wont be to many peoples taste.
  6. p.s. I did think about doing the indicator clusters too but thought Id leave that for another day if I do decide to do it. Anyone got any pics of their zed with this done so I can have a look? Cheers.
  7. Cheers guys. Yeah Dan I think with the RSR's bellowing out I needed something to make the rear end look a bit more mean Thats my thoughts exactly Taddy - normally I wouldnt go for a rear wing (or tinted lights for that matter) but I think with the direction the Zed is headed these things do work well. When you compare the rear to the front (pic below) it really does need a little something more. Got a couple of pics for you with the brake lights on. I think they shine through fine and seeing as how we have the third brake light too I dont think anyone is not going to see my lights. If I start having trouble then Ill definitely look into those led's.
  8. Yeah that does look pretty bad. I think if Im trying to save money I'll go for the buddyclub but if I had the cash to burn it would be the ings. Adriank yeah the ings one is 350z specific. The ings stuff is always a spot on fit so I think that would be the way to go if cash was no object!
  9. Point taken and if I considered them to be dangerous I wouldnt have them on there. The break light shines through fine. Granted the side lights arent going to be as bright in the day as they were before but its not illegal to have your lights off during the day so Im not too bothered if the lights arent as bright. Its the break lights that count and I wouldnt put these lights on my car if the break lights were impaired to the point of being dangerous.
  10. the stuff that dreams are made of lol look how even the wing tips follow the lines of the lights one day thats the one i'd have as well, but i don't have that kind of cash The fit on that is awesome and it does follow the lines but I dont like the end plates. They are too big and square for my liking. Although to be honest I cant tell how big the ones are on the Megan without seeing it against the Zed. If that wing above had the end plates from the buddy club (see how they are wider at the back then go to almost a point at the front) then it would be awesome. But I think for that kind of money Id still go for the Ings low mount -
  11. Yeah they are the original lights and the old style so they are non led's. The light shines through no problem at all (although I know from the pics it looks as though it wouldnt). Ill take some pics when I get home of the lights on and the brake light too. I kinda like them red or black but I think with my aggressive front end the rear was looking a little tame - this has helped balance things out a bit
  12. So I finally got around to tinting my rear lights once again after the last lot gradually came off lol. This time I decided to go darker and I actually bothered to put clear laquer on to so it should last forever now. Laquer still needs a final polish to bring out the real shine but overall Im pleased with the result. I used a tine spray made by Savage and the only thing I would say is that if you want to go as dark as me I's order some VHT Nite Shades from the US. This stuff was ok but I had to use 2 cans of it to get to where they are now. Its very fine and is literally a "tint" like it says on the tin but for me I wanted dark and VHT is much better for that. Pictures are from my phone - will take some better quality ones once I have buffed them up a little. Before After Before After
  13. Hmmm now that i didnt know. When you say fixed mounts what do you mean? How does that differ from say the buddy club one in this post also? thanks mate.
  14. Nice one Taddy - top man. £15 delivery is great too. Cheers bud!
  15. Bundus

    VHT Nite Shade

I bought a couple of cans of this to do my rear lights off ebay us. Delivery was quick and no charges (think cos it was such little value) I havent found a single uk company selling it but I did just buy some "Savage" rear light tinting spray from a uk seller so Ill let you know how that one is compared to the VHT stuff if you want?
  16. Hey CS. Im sure you got my text but thought Id post here too just to confirm. I can no longer make this event. I hope you guys have a great time. Ill catch up with you soon Mitz!
  17. Well my heart is set on the Ings one Adrian so hopefully Ill end up with that if I can get the money together - otherwise that buddyclub is really sweet! Yeah Ill measure up and see how it looks. Id maybe like it to extend over the edges a tiny bit but dont want it too much wider then the car. Cheers guys.
  18. I contacted buddyclub and they gave me prices for the low mount wing. 1.54m width = £344 1.43m width = £325 I wont be doing anything until I have some money and I chase up a possible Ings wing purchase but just out of interest does anyone know which width I would need? Cheers.
  19. Going from nurrish's non-mapped dynos: (rounded up and down) Westons 260bhp RS 285bhp so in theory mine would be: (dynoed same day as nurrish's) Westons 305bhp RS 330bhp (in theory) So if you calculate the drivetrain loss at 17%(ish) mine would be putting out 275 RWHP, only 25 less than Adam@Z1's car so something is wrong here somewhere if you catch my drift. I agree that there is definitely something wrong with the dyno world if two different dynos can be so far apart on the same car but it wouldnt put me off getting dyno's. Id just get them done at the same place all the time and use them to see gains as opposed to max power. In fact I may even stopp quoting my max power after dyno's (as its clear that it could be way out) and just say "fitted new mod today - got me 1bhp increase". As long as you always use the same dyno then increase wise we should be able to say pretty accurately what our mods have done for us. On another note surely there should be some sort of national dyno rules for things like what gear to use, how tight to strap etc......so that we can take it to different places and feel confident that we are getting a comparable test?
  20. We talked about that on the day. 2 obvious possibilities, either his would jump to over 300BHP on the SRR rollers or it would make sod all, we voted nearer the second. Apparently his fueling is already pretty good, whereas most of the others arent, so one of the corrections to get a bit more power wouldnt do much. Would certainly be interesting to see though. He was only 0.5BHP less than Mark and hasnt spent anywhere near as much on tuning (yet!) I think Id be inclined to say that AdrianK's would make a big increase on the dyno at RS compared to SRR. Nurrish got 301 after tuning at RS and hasnt changed anything on his car between that and going to SRR. Over at SRR he gets 282. Now if both rolling roads are consistent in how they manage their dyno (not consistent with each other but consistent from each run to the next in terms of strapping etc) then this difference is simply a difference in the rolling road itself (whether that be how the car is strapped, how it is run, gear used etc....) So what we are seeing is a difference of about 20bhp from SRR to RS. Now - as has been discussed this means nothing. Lets say RS test the your car at 270 then fit an air filter and test it again at 272 Lets also say that SRR test the same car stock at 250 then fit the same air filter and test it again at 252 It would be easy to get upset and think that your power has dropped dramatically but at the end of the day the dyno's give different results but the increase should be the same. So based on that theory I would say that AdrianK should get 310bhp at RS since RS and SRR rolling roads differ by around 20bhp based on Nurrish's figures.
  21. I know how you feel mate - it must be gutting to see such a difference. Its upsetting to think that we could spend thousands on our cars only to have them come in less then a standard one purely because the standard one was so much more powerful out of the factory. Is there some comeback we have as a buyer if we buy a car and its power at the dyno is less then the stated power? Ive never looked at it like this before but if your buying a new car and they vary on power so much it would make sense to test drive a few and dyno them. Why pay thousands of pounds tuning a car for an extra 20 bhp when 3 different ones from the factory may already be 20bhp apart. Get the most powerful one from the factory and youve saved a fair penny on tuning. I was just thinking I wonder what AdrianK's would come in at over at RS?
  22. Im a little behind on posts - just catching up now. That ings one is really tempting me!!
  23. I think the best thing to do is find a dyno place that you like and make sure you always take it there after changing things or adding mods. As has been said if the car is run on one dyno, then mods made, then run on the same dyno under same conditions then the difference in figures will be your change. Regardless of whether the start figure was higher or lower then what you have seen at other dynos. Nurrish if you take yours to RS tuning for another run and they run it exactly as they did before then you should see the same numbers again. This wont explain why other dynos are different but it will put your mind at rest that the car hasnt dropped a load of power since you had it tuned.
  24. Thanks for the input guys. I was after the Ings low mount spoiler for a long time to go with my Ings kit but at £1,300 when you add in delivery it just isnt going to happen. I do really like the buddy club low level one too and at £300 that is awesome as I wouldnt have to pay US delivery or duty prices. Ill check out the buddy club one and let you guys know how I get on. Anyone know any other similar styled and reasonably priced wings? Dont even care if its not carbon as long as its a similar style! Cheers fellas.
  25. I want to get hold of this rear wing for the Zed but I cant find a site that delivers to the UK. Megan Racing MR 55 Rear Wing Ive seen some sites selling it at $370 and others selling it at $160 which I thought was weird. Does anyone know why this may be the case? Cheers guys!
