    UK spec gauges

Just read a post where these got sold and I had no idea that you could just swap out the JDM ones and have mph and mpg in an instant. Anyone got a set of these going spare?? Cash waiting!!
  2. Ooooh getting excited now. Any more for any more???
  3. Yep im interested too. Flip would be great but Id settle for anything to replace my standard JDM rubbish fob!
  4. Why dont you just flock over the top of the sub panel? The sound from the sub isnt reliant on it being directional or free to breath if you know what I mean. If you are concerned though im sure the guys doing the work could flock over the top but make a few cut outs in the flock. If its cosmetics that interst you more then flock over the top and then cut out the flock around the speaker grill itself and then go and buy a Kicker sub grill and mount that in place. - These can be painted to match anything you like. Just my 2 cents worth - it looks awesome mate and im sure youve thought of all this!
  5. I think this may be the answer. Im not certain but Id tend to agree that if there was nothing on the seat then there is nothing to get warm and the heat in the seat is probably minimal enough that you wouldnt feel it just by putting your hand there?? I could be wrong though. Perhaps someone else couild test for me. Next time your out for a drive whack your passenger seat heater on and then give it some time and feel the seat with your hand. Can you physically feel any heat? Thanks a lot guys. I tried this the other night and although the passenger seat got a little warm it certainly wasn't hot like the drivers seat, if it hadn't been a cold night I don't think I would have noticed the it warming at all to be honest. So I don't think there is any sort of switch it just doesn't have anything to keep the warmth in... I think that answers that then - at least I know my seats not faulty. Cheers mate
  6. Just thought Id chime in on the JCVD Jackie Chan discussion. The way I see it is these people will never get any real credit for their martial arts because they are always being compared to "real" martial artists. Jackie Chan starting in theatre will never have the same rep as someone who started in a traditional school of martial arts and trained all their life. But at the end of the day these people are still extremely fit, extremely flexible and have mastered a large number of martial arts moves whether they be for screen or not. You take someone like that and put them in a fight against someone who has done nothing their whole life and they are more then likely to kick arse still. Chan and JCVD can never be compared to true exponents of the arts like Jet Li, Bruce Lee and the like but that doesnt mean they arent tough in their own right and still very competent martial artists. And I also watched a documentary with JCVD where his trainer claimed that he fought the number two in the world in a tournament and won - he was going to fight the number one later but went into movies instead. How true any of that is I cant say for sure but come on lets give these guys some credit. People slag off JCVD all the time but with his size, strength, flexibility, speed and coordination he could still be very dangerous. As for the film I was going to watch it recently but changed my mind after seeing the trailer. It reminded me of Ong Bak - awesome martial arts scenes but I could picture the film, the acting and the dialogue just being awful. Based on this recomendation I may give it another go.

    Servicing Kent

Cant comment on the warranty issue - as far as i know as long as genuine nissan parts are used your warranty is not affected but someone else will confirm that im sure. As for resale I personally would rather see Abbey motor sports stamped in the log book of a zed I was buying then most of the main dealers (Marshall Nissan in Cambridge were also awesome when I took my zed there so there are some great main dealers) but in general places like Abbey who race the cars and tune them know more about servicing them then a dealer who spends most of their time dealing with the more saleable end of the market. This is all my own opinion of course and Im sure you will have yours but for me I feel safer giving my motor to people who love and cherish their cars then any of the main dealers near me.

    Servicing Kent

Ill second Abbey there. Had my P2 done with them couple of weeks ago and they were top notch and a great price. They even have courtesy cars for you mate.

  10. Thanks a lot Chris - that helps a lot. Ive got my manual around somewhere - I'll dig it out and take a look see if they mention anything about the need to be perforated.
  11. Just wondering as I never really did understand it. Ive noticed that if no one is sat in the passenger seat and I turn the heater on it doesnt get hot at all - I put my hand on it and its cold. So I just want to understand how they work - what provides the heat etc?? Also as I was planning a re-trim at some point do I need to make sure the new leather is perforated like my originals to allow the heater to work? Cheers!
  12. mines an import with one key also - would be over the moon if this works - keep us posted dude!
  13. Id like a set for the sides too if there are any more. Cheers.
  14. Just to let you know mate the official Nissan service schedule doesnt include a diff oil change for the Zeds - so the P3 and the P2 will be exactly the same at Nissan (unless you have asked them specifically to change the diff oil). So you could just book in for a P2 and save the money.
  15. And the mobile phones going off, people talking, kids throwing popcorn etc etc.. Its a real joy to go to the cinema these days!! Yeah there is that. Id agree with the late night showing - i used to always go to those and its a much nicer experience. I reckon it wont be long before the cinema is a thing of the past and new releases are released straight to a high quality download for a much smaller fee then what my local cinema charge. To take me and the gf to the cinema - throw in a pop corn and a drink and Ive dropped around £23 - fantastic!
  16. On the pirate subject I love it when people say "why watch it at home on bad quality when you can go to the cinema" lol. Other then the quite rare digital cinema screens that are around most cinemas still show films on a projector. Have you ever actually sat in a projection cinema and thought "wow this picture quality is good" - if you have then I feel sorry for you because look again and its terrible - little flickers and burns in the film every second. I dont condone piracy but I can honestly say that in a large number of cases the picture quality of a so called "screener" or "R5 dvd rip" will be a vast improvement over the projection cinema screen. That said it is the cinema "experience" that I keep going for - the surround sound, atmosphere and huge screen are what do it for me. With digital screens becoming the norm now its only getting better.
  17. I think this has been quite an interesting thread - its obviously got people on both sides and some people in the middle so its made for an interesting discussion. One thing here that has really hit home for me is the fact that the original parts start at such high prices - but to be honest if they can cover their R&D costs with these high prices in the first few months or years then its a good thing people start replicating them and force the prices down. If reps werent made I bet manufacturers would keep their prices sky high indefinitely. On the flip side if the manufacturers reduced their prices as soon as theyve covered their R&D costs and reduced them to a level that was in line with the effort involved and cost to manufacture then perhaps buyers wouldnt need/want to source replicas and feed that market?
  18. Totally agree with you that there are plenty of people selling second rate stuff and there is much better quality if you pay that little extra but on the flip side some people cant afford some of the top quality kit and so they need/want a cheaper option. Ive gone cheap a few times and regretted it and ended up buying the top quality stuff in the end anyway. I do really think it pays to spend the extra and have guaranteed quality but there will always be people out there who want to spend less and have it done cheaper so you cant really blame people for providing a service to those that want it. I think rather then have a go at the sellers you'd be better off trying to educate the buyers against parting with their hard earned for a second rate replica item. I do think though that there are plenty of non branded bits of kit out there that are a good alternative for those on a budget so im not saying all replicas and all non branded items are junk. Its supply and demand at the end of the day - if people didnt keep throwing their money at poorly made replicas then the market wouldnt thrive.
  19. +1 my sentiments exactly I do agree though that ive heard horror stories about cheaper versions. What I would say is that if you buy them, fit them and test them and they turn out to be fine with no problems then Ill snap your arm off for a set at £300 mate
  20. I am having this issue to mark. Which parts needs adjusting? Your too far to come round for tea!! Will get some pics when bundus gets his ass over! Nice one cheers mate. When you free? Just noticed your on MSN - Ill catch you on there. Will post up pics and guide when me and Fiddy have sorted it out. By the way will I need the bonnet adjusters off the original bonnet as I dont have them at all!!
  21. Hey guys I have an Ings carbon fibre bonnet fitted to my zed but it sits a fair bit lower on the left side at the front then it does on the right. Its rubbing against the front bumper and the inside of the headlight. I no longer have the original bonnet and I hear there are adjusters that come with it?? If so is it possible for me to buy them seperately? Anyone on here have any to sell? Also is there anything I can do with the bonnet release to make it level out? Ill get some pics up when I get to work. Cheers
  22. Someone made a comment that if the current government toughened the immigration laws and worked toward stopping the over crowding and the situation of illegal immigrants then the BNP would never have risen as quickly as they have in the last couple of months. The BNP are just riding on the back of the British publics upset with the current immigration status as it is. It is the minority of people that agree with what the BNP stand for but a vast majority of people (according to polls - make of them what you will) agree that our current immigration laws are a joke which is giving the BNP credibility in the minds of those who dont know enough about their other policies of hatred and intollerance..
  23. Its not just the youtube clip mate. if you read the story on sky news or BBC this actually went to court and it turns out the half naked guy and his mate had two previous bust ups before this one (one of them with a guy in a spiderman costume - perhaps they liked attacking people in fancy dress). The half naked dude clearly punches one tranny in the face before the other stepped in. Thats visible in the video and from the story of the victims which was then believed by the court, the jury and the judge. I do however agree with you that based solely on the video the big bloke got really hard done by. I said that myself when I first saw it - it looks like he is trying to stop the whole thing then gets ko'd from behind, i felt sorry for the poor dude Im on your side as well about not every video or clip ever telling the whole story but in this case the courts also agreed. Whether the court was wrong or right and they just bought into the video clip too is a whole different matter.
  24. +1 Take a look at the photos I added on page one of this post with my brake lights on. If you still think those arent bright enough then fair enough you dont have to drive behind me - but how anyone could fail to spot my lights especially with the big third brake light in the middle (which is not smoked) is beyond me. I think you need to judge each one on its own merits as opposed to saying they should all be banned. As Taddy said if I thought these were too dark to be seen from behind Id change them but personally I think they are more then bright enough. Ive seen some that are blacked out and the light barely comes through and in those cases I totally agree with you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I respect yours - I just respectfully disagree in this case.
