  6. What's the feeling on non-Zed owners randomly appearing along parts of the route(s) with a HD Camera filming the delightful wildlife when some Zeds go past? That's currently my plan (filming Zeds, not wildlife!). But if that in anyway causes the club headaches please let me know fella.
  7. Co-incidentally, myself and Lydia are booked into the sister hotel just up the road on Friday 15th of May to Sunday 18th of May 2015. How did that happen? Next thing you know we'll be parked-up at the side of the road somewhere testing out my HD camcorder as a load of Zeds fly past! Infact, i recall this happened to us *several times* last year, even in the pouring rain. Bloody annoying getting loads of Zeds on camera when trying to film the local, erm, roads and fauna Worst bit last year was going thru a lot of tunnels on the Conwy road trying to film the exquisite brickwork of the inner-tunnel walls, only to have all that filming ruined by Ionabee, Bockaaarrk and others overtaking us! If you watch closely, you'll see some fantastic scenic shots ruined by Japanese metal. And birdsong being obliterated by Bob's exhaust!
  8. Cracking choice Colin! And to quote Lydia who has just taken a look at your new wheels: "OH MY GOD that's AWESOME! Is that the one I like?!" Yes Lydia, that's the A-Class AMG that you like
  9. Very nice motor I can only guess at how much better the modern Porkers are compared to my 10 year old 996T. And i think the 996T is staggeringly good....! I noticed in my local OPC that the current 3.8L Carrera has an optional 'Power Pack' upgrade for circa 10k - that puts the standard (non-Turbo) 911 (991) up to 400bhp! Is yours the manual or the PDK box? I'm tempted to get mine booked in for a service early next year just so i can have a Cayman R courtesy car
  10. Only just found out about this, so apologies for a mini thread-revival! Popped over to Donny today to meet Ken and Rothers, and while chatting and catching up, Ken dropped the bombshell. Took both myself and Lydia by surprise! GUNS has been sold! Thankfully she seems to be staying on the forum though An exceptionally hard decision to make Colin, but reading through this thread it would seem like the right one for you to make. Do we have an update on what you think you might buy to replace her? Perhaps something sensible and safe - like that German car i bought with 4 seats and 4-wheel drive?
  11. Popped in...twice on the Saturday in Lydia's mini (porker still at the bodyshop - no, it wasn't mine that got binned into the hedge near the ZedFest site!) Great to see a good amount of folks turn up. Some excellent food on offer (decent fish+chips+peas for £4.50) - thumbs up to the lads that did the catering! Great to see Martin, Chris and others once again, it's been a long time! Also great to meet some new Zed owners and take a look at their cars. Another decent event with decent weather as well. Cheers Arkwright! It's a shame more couldn't make it from the three forums, but i suspect other commitments and potentially crap weather might have put some folks off. As Martin said, your loss!
  12. Will this one be getting modified by Ken? Something about a concrete wall........?
  13. I spoke to a Scottish chap at Zedfest (he owns a black 350z GT4...anyone on here know him? ) Anyhoo, he mentioned this was taking place, so myself and Lydia will try and pop down with the new HD camera. Weather CANNOT be worse than Wales.....!
  14. This is local to us so hopefully myself and Lydia will be able to put in an appearance on the Saturday afternoon. Any discount for former Zed owners turning up in a Beetle?
  15. Wales has been a key part of my 350z ownership. It's been an unmissable event on the yearly calendar, and as others have said it's a great place to catch up with folks. Just as sure as night-follows-day, an annual Wales meet has been organised. Just as sure as death and taxes, an annual Wales event has been organised. Just as sure as Graham getting lost on a drive out, an annual Wales event has been organised 2015 without a Wales meet just wouldn't be 2015. If Carlsberg did weekend car-club meets..... You get the general idea. I think it would be a real shame if Wales slipped to a 2-year schedule. The only complaints i have ever heard have been from drivers who got lost. Considering all the other areas that complaints could come from (logistics, hotels, food, beer, weather etc), that's pretty bloody good going! While i'm more than certain organising the Wales meets isn't easy (and once again, a heart-felt thanks to all those who are involved!) I don't think dropping Wales should happen. It's well attended, keenly priced and pretty central for folks. All in all it works out really well as a great annual event, with other great events scattered across the country that other club members help organise (ZedFest, Lakes etc) for those who can't make Wales, or want alternatives. Besides, I've just bought a tripod and bloody big golf umbrella for the 2015 "Official Wales Camera crew", not to mention rigging an IMAX camera to the front-bonnet of the 911 for some great chase-footage!
  16. I'll admit i was thinking that when we jumped back in the car to catch up with the last group after they had driven past...... but then the turbo's kicked in and i was all like, meh, whatever.... Seriously tho, we are both really glad our old Zed and her new owner couldn't make it to Wales. That would have been a tearful reunion *sniff* Miss that car more than any other that i have sold
  17. T h a n k s Brrrrr *Cough* *Shiver*
  18. Careful!! Haha yeah Andy was that in reference to my driving Nah - Lydia was going to step into the road to get some pics of you.....and i remembered that there tend to be more than just two Zeds in any single group... and sure enough another few came round the corner we were standing at
  19. Shhhh..... mostly Lydia's shots
  20. The weekend's camera car: (I turned the in-car Sat-Nav on during the drive home, and she tried to invade Poland.....)
